Allured by the beauty and quaintness of Pagosa Springs, we moved here in August 2011 to semi-retire and slowdown from our more urban pace in Minnesota. We purchased our home in the spring of 2012 and began remodeling it. Once completed, we decided to open our home to be used for others to enjoy and explore this wondrous land.
Nancy Williams purchased this house in 2012
We chose this property for two main reasons. First, the views of the Continental Divide are spectacular and we are only a half of block from the lake. Plus, the location is convenient to shopping, restaurants, bike/walk path, recreation center, and golf course. It is on a paved street and has a paved driveway - something of great value here. Our home faces the east and lets the morning sunshine in. All the bedrooms face the west allowng the dazzling western sunsets to be seen. Since there are no street lights in the residential areas, we love watching the nightly display of brillant stars. There is an abundance of wildlife that comes through our neighborhood and yard. Fox, deer, elk, bear, and bald eagles.
575 Lakeside is the perfect home base to enjoy the San Juan's! From Durango to the Sand Dunes & wonderful Pagosa Springs. Your home is terrific and your hospitality even better. Thanks so much!
We VRBO a lot and I rely on reviews when choosing a place so I like to write accurate ones and this place was a good find. It was a good value for the price. My family of 5 plus our parents stayed in this house two nights - 4 adults and 3 children fit perfectly. It was plenty of room and it is a great location - nice view from deck in a quiet, cute neighborhood and VERY convenient to grocery, restaurants, and hiking trails and a quick, easy drive downtown. The owners are very nice, attentive and helpful, really wanting their guests to have a nice stay. The kitchen was well-stocked and having the "basics" there in the cupboard for cooking (oil, spices, salt/pepper, flour, sugar, coffee filters, etc.) was nice. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars are minor things but if we had stayed there for longer or in the winter, they'd be more impactful. The grill looked like it had parts missing so we didn't dare use it, the toaster doesn't work very well. The upstairs bedrooms are very dark, when it's sunny and bright they're fine but at night or if it's cloudy, they are dark, no overhead lighting and only one 40-watt or so light in each room and they are decent sized rooms. My parents like to read at night and were not able to b/c there was only the one small lamp in the guest room. Same thing in the bunkbed room, as we discovered the second day which was cloudy it was hard to see to pack up as it only had the one small lamp. It would be nice to have more lighting in those rooms. The master however was VERY well-appointed and nice. On the plus side, ALL of the beds were very comfortable and the bedding/towels are soft - quality stuff. It's very clean and well-furnished with a lot of storage space and having the garage if you had ski equip, etc or to put your car in in the winter is a huge plus. There are also TVs in all the bedrooms which is pretty nice, a lot of places only have TVs in the master. And they have games, puzzles, books etc. and a lot of guide books and maps that were very useful. Overall, the plusses definitely outweigh the minuses -- this is a great house for a family getaway and we're happy to have found it.
Great house and stay! Pagosa Springs was a very friendly town and close to a lot of places to visit.
Lovely home, super nice location
My family enjoyed a wonderful stay at Nancy's property. Pagosa Springs offered a quiet place to relax but also had all of the comforts of home within minutes of the property. The house was clean, well maintained, and welcoming as was Nancy our host. I would absolutely stay here again without question! Thank you Nancy for making our vacation comfortable and unforgettable!
A great place to stay! We had several people in the house and everyone fit perfectly. The kids loved the bunk beds. This house was family-friendly indeed! Lots of amenities for young kids/ babies. And games for the other kids and adults. The house was beautiful and decorated very nicely. We were able to cook meals and felt right at home. The owner was very friendly and welcoming as well.
