My husband and I bought Villa Amici in 2002 in order to pursue our dream of making wine. The name Villa Amici means 'house of friends' and we have enjoyed sharing this little piece of Tuscany with many of our friends from around the world. Since buying the home, we have added the vineyard, bocce court and pizza oven to enhance the experience. Besides making wine, we enjoy cooking, traveling, fly fishing, discovering new foods and wine.
Donna Merideth purchased this villa in 2002
Villa Amici is located in the heart of Alexander Valley just outside of Healdsburg - a town which continues to grow in terms of fine shopping and dining. Villa Amici is surrounded by large vineyards and is a little piece of heaven. It has a unique casual but sophisticated feel.
Villa Amici includes a wood burning pizza oven and bocce court and is perfect for entertaining. It is located within a mile or two of several wineries including Jordan, Medlock Ames, Alexander Valley Vineyards, Sausal, White Oak, Soda Rock, Hanna, Fieldstone, etc.
We had an amazing time staying at Villa Amici. The house had everything and more that we would need for our weekend getaway. We loved the pizza oven and had a great time playing with the record player. Thank you Donna! We hope to visit again soon.
Donna was excellent from start to finish with communication. The house was equipped for cooking great meals, listening to good music and relaxing. We hope to return to Villa Amici soon!
We will come back and stay longer. The home is so lovely. We made pizza in the oven one night which was a lot of fun. It's a great house to cook, eat, drink, relax in. It's very well appointed, anything you need is there. We want to come back and enjoy the bocce court (it was pouring rain when we were there) and lounge a bit outside and enjoy the view. Beds were comfortable, nice linens and pillows and place was very clean. Thank you!
This was our second stay at Villa Amici and it was a perfect place to spend a few days wine tasting and shopping in Healdsburg before our daughter's wedding. Although there was a glitch with the gas supply at the beginning of our stay, owners Donna and Ed accommodated us wonderfully and we kept warm with a cozy fire in the wood stove. Kitchen is beautifully equipped with everything you need to cook gourmet dinners and serve on the long rustic dining table, and the backyard pergola draped with beautiful wisteria and view of the rose-bordered vineyard beyond is a great place to sip wine and eat cheese for happy hour. We hope to come back again for a longer stay and a chance to try making pizza in the outdoor pizza oven.
Fantastically appointed home in the heart of Northern CA! Second stay here with a longer stay this time. Hoping to extend again in two years. Perfect!
This was our second stay at Villa Amici, and this house is a real gem. The house's location allows for pretty easy access to both the Sonoma and Napa wine tasting areas. And, it is close to nearby Healdsburg, which makes it convenient for an evening out or a quick grocery run. But, it is far enough out so that we could enjoy the quiet in the evening and the vineyards that surround the house. And, the house is so comfortable. Plenty of space for 2-3 couples with a great backyard. We availed ourselves to the pizza oven and plenty of Bocce during our stay. Donna was a pleasure to work with, and we are already planning a return visit next year!
Wine Country; wine tasting; fine dining; popular cycling area.
