Just 25 miles from the northern entrance into Yosemite National Park, you will find yourself in a fully furnished home that is the perfect get away. It has an unobstructed view of a lovely 100 acre meadow and is in Stanislaus National forest. If you are looking for solitude, sunshiny days and starlet nights in the pines then you will love this home. At 3200 feet we’re just above the snow mark but below the blizzard line. We’re just ½ mile from the nearest grocery store or gas station and 10 minutes (8 miles) from Highway 120.
Our vacation property can accommodate 6+ comfortably. It has three bedrooms; master bedroom has a king size adjustable bed and a private full-bath. The two smaller bedrooms have queen beds and share a full-bath. Children or adventurous at heart could sleep on queen size air beds in a nicely finished garage area in the summer. (see pictures)
There is easy access to the house through the garage and front door. There is a deck across the back of the house and the setting is very private. There is access to internet and it has dish TV.
The large kitchen is fully equipped for all your cooking needs and has granite throughout. It includes a large Island for cooking or eating. There is a gas BBQ grill in the back yard.
The hot tub is fabulous for relaxing anytime but especially under the stars at night. It has therapy jets for those tired muscles after a long day of sightseeing or hiking.
Lori and I met while we were young and only 17 while attending college up in Idaho. Doug retired and we purchased this home in 2012 as our vacation dream home. We love it so much that we enjoy staying here whenever we can. The mountains are beautiful and it is very peaceful here. Lori and I have 5 children and 18 grand children with one on the way. We enjoy camping, traveling, but mostly just doing work around our homes.
and visiting with friends.
Doug Dalton purchased this house in 2012
We chose this property because we enjoy mountain living without the hustle and bustle of resort areas. Little traffic and yet close to Yosemite and wonderful hiking adventures.
Very quiet, small town, enjoy the stars-Yosemite and nearby historic towns.
We enjoyed staying at this property. Doug and his wife were very nice. They visited us to make sure everything is okay. Love taking pictures outside the house. Landscaping was superb! Drive to Yosemite Valley was 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. Do visit Hetch Hetchy if you have the time! Would definitely come back. Moreover, I am looking forward to visiting Doug's property in Oregon! Thank you so much :)
We loved this home. Had all we needed for a great stay near Yosemite.Hot tub was nice to come back to after long hike's in all the park's.And close to the store so you can pick up thing's you forget. we enjoyed the swing in the front yard with the great view. Thank you for sharing your home . Kathy.
This is a very well equipped house. From the kitchen, to the den and then bedrooms, everything was very comfortable for my family of four. The beds are extremely comfortable. The wifi worked great. And my wife definitely took advantage of the oversized washer and dryer. I'm assigning the three star primarily because of the 1-1/2 hour drive into and back from Yosemite. Yikes! That's THREE HOURS A DAY. After doing this several days in a row, the drive becomes tiresome after a long day of hiking. There was no mention of this in other reviews, nor could I find this information in the rental listing. Then, there isn't exactly a view of the mountains and or the park. Just an empty field across the street. I'm not knocking the peace and quiet, but I've visited other National Parks and had VRBO accommodations with views of the mountains. I certainly felt the price I paid matched the location. Again, it's a great place to stay. I would certainly not hesitate to recommend it, but be prepared to drive.
The house is impeccably clean with a much needed washer and dryer! After hotel stays we appreciated the ability to stretch our legs and spread out a little. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
This is a very well equipped place, luxurious, close access to yosemite, and some very nice amenities. The hot tub is phenomenal after a hard trek, the greeley market has everything you need including fuel within a ten minute walk, there's excellent wifi, games for kids, excellent kitchen, washing machines, netflix, fireplace inside and firepit outside, and a big, comfortable living room. It's a place where even after staying 5 days and having yosemite next door you still wish you could stay just a while longer at the property. Doug and Lori are excellent hosts and make sure all your questions are answered and your stay is memorable. I look forward to bringing my family back here.
We chose the house because of its proximity to Yosemite but once we got there, we almost wanted to just stay and hang out at the house! It has everything. The front lawn alone has mini golf, a fire pit, a hot tub, and great views. The decor is cute and homey and the furniture and beds are very comfortable. This is a great house to cook in and had a very clean grill. Also great view of the night sky.
You won't get any cell service at the house but they have wifi and a landline. The town of Coulterville is small and closes early but everyone working there is very friendly and helpful.
The owner was responsive and answered all of my questions in a timely manner. The house was very clean. I would love it return!
