We moved to sunny north Florida 8 years ago and have loved every minute! Steve works from home running our companies and Tracy is a stay at home Mom and Sunnyside Beach Properties manager. We have 6 children and our first grandchild, a girl, is on the way. We love the beach and are so excited to be able to share our wonderful little piece of heaven with you.
Tracy or Steve Button purchased this house in 2012
We will be thinking about retiring in 10 years or so and it has always been our dream to live by the sea. We really enjoy the location, history, and recreational opportunities of North Florida. Hopefully, this home will someday be our permanent home.
This home is constructed very well and has updated amenities, flooring, and cabinetry. The wrap around views from all 3 floors were a definite selling point. We also make use of the lawn on either side for games and parties. The ability to sleep up to 12 was attractive as well. The location is perfect--a private stretch of beach with only a few residential neighbors. Very idyllic setting, but close to grocery stores, restaurants, and other things to do.
The property is beautiful...no doubt, it was great seeing the ocean every day....but this house is WAY over priced and NOT well maintained comparative to other vacation rentals in the area....be forewarned. Here is a list of things to be concerned with before you rent it:
1. Roaches! I am not tolerant of any place with bugs...so for me, the whole experience was ruined because of this!
2. MOLD growing in and around all ac vents! That is a major health danger!!!
3. Dirty rugs and floors....although i was asked to pay a large cleaning fee...their cleaning team is not worth the money.
4. There was no glass cleaner so we couldnt wipe down the tables after we used them.
5. The hot water was turned off in downstairs bathroom...although an easy fix for my boyfriend to turn it on, he shouldn't have to do that!! Clearly someone turned it off because the faucet was leaking...instead of fixing it.
I'm giving 2 stars...generous considering the issues above. The stars are only for the ocean front amazing beach, view, very nicely decorated home and our family making this a fabulous weekend
Located right on the beach, so spectacular views from every floor. Convenient open floor plan, nicely appointed kitchen, and everything very clean.
We had a great time and enjoyed having family and friends with us. Divided floors with bedrooms (first and third have sleeping accommodations) helped give separation! Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here from April 29 through May 4 for my daughter's graduation from Flagler College. The house has a great layout and the views from all three floors are beautiful. Woke up everyday just to watch the sunrise over the ocean and to see the dolphins swim by. The beach was great, we surfed and swam and my grandson had a ball making sand castles and it is so private, we felt like we were the only ones there.
The house is beautifully decorated and all the furniture is super cozy, there are plenty of blankets to wrap up in and relax. The kitchen was has everything you need, we made big breakfasts everyday and only had 1 dinner out. We felt so at home.
Town is a short drive away and the Publix is very close and has anything you could want. The only thing we didn't like was leaving....
The house is gorgeous and spacious! It was clean and the beds were comfy! We had everything we needed to feel at home! We hosted a party and all of our friends could not say enough about how fantastic the home was! We are local but waking up to the gorgeous beach sunrise each day made us feel miles away! It was a wonderful vacation and we will be sure to visit again soon!
The views are breathtaking! The furnishing and decor are beachy and relaxing. They even have soap, Kleenex, spices, it is all there! If you have small children the house is somewhat close to the A1A and the cars travel very fast. The backyard is not fenced in.
The house was very clean and comfortable and the owners are very reasponsive and polite.
You get there and you may not want to leave😀
Sunnyside is a newly updated and luxuriously furnished elegant home on a very private lot with panoramic oceanfront views.
Located in South Ponte Vedra Beach south of between Ponte Vedra, home of the TPC Sawgrass Golf Tournament and north of St. Augustine, the oldest US city, and to the east oceanfront along the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and to the west and unobstructed view of the Guana Nature Preserve and River this property offers something for everyone.
Shopping at cute boutiques, upscale outlet stores, surf shops, and chain stores are all close by. World Golf Village and Sawgrass offer top notch golf and there are many locations nearby for tennis.
The nature preserve has kayaking and other ecological adventures and education. All water sports are available either on the ocean, the intercoastal or a nearby lake. From the old St. Augustine fort, Ripleys Believe it or Not, and Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth, St. Augustine offers much sight-seeing either on foot, bike, or trolley. Nearby Vilano Beach is one of the few beaches left that you can drive on which is a unique experience.
To the north, nearby Jacksonville offers a children's museum, the zoo, the Cumner Art Museum and Gardens, home of the Jaguars, and a beautiful riverfront walk with Friendship Fountain and several venues for arts and entertainment. The piers in Jacksonville and St. Augustine have fishing and the town squares have movies or music on most weekends.
To the south, Marineland is a must visit. Nearby is an Alligator farm and other zoolocial and wildlife centers. Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach are 90 minutes south. Mt Dora and Micanopy beckon with antique shopping and quaint small town charm. And, not to be missed, Orlando and theme parks are less than 2 hours west! Disney, Seaworld, and Universal Studios await with magical adventures!
A typical day could include an early morning walk enjoying the sunrise and shell collecting, followed by swimming or paddleboarding. Then, head into St. Augustine for some shopping or sight-seeing and shrimp for lunch at O'Steen's (bring cash as they don't take credit cards!), then take a drive along the beach and people watch followed by a snack at Yocool, the yummiest frozen yogurt around (my favorite is coconut with frest strawberries!), have a nap outside and then head to Cap's on the Water (Intercoastal) for dinner (super fun for kids, they have these cool trees they can climb on) while you watch the sunset and the boats go by. Or, tour St. Augustine and have a delicious dinner at Harry's and hear the history of its ghosts. You can head into Ponte Vedra and have a relaxing spa day at the Ponte Vedra Spa, check out the Jax Beach pier, watch the surfers and have dinner at Barbara Jean's--don't forget to order the chocolate stuff ( yes, it is really called that!) or stay in Jax Beach and eat at Salt Life.
There is an abundance of camps and fun ideas for kids at the Jax4Kids website as well as surfing and paddleboard instructors available from the local surf shops. St. Augustine city is lit up from Dec to Jan 31st and there are many festivals from Amelia Island down to St. Augustine. Shrimp fest, the Jazz Festival, the Air Show, fireworks, and surfing competitions are just a few. One of the most fun pastimes is collecting shark teeth--I have a friend who found over 200 in under 2 hours!
Our beautiful home has travertine floors, spectacular ocean views, and every amenity. We are child friendly, small dog friendly, and can sleep 12 comfortably and privately. You can truly get away from it all on our secluded and tranquil beach and city conveniences are 10 minutes away. Come relax, renew, and refresh in our soothing and peaceful home. Or, come play, explore, and discover something exciting and new in this beautiful area.
North Florida has so much to offer and is very friendly. Come stay with us and you won't want to leave!
