This home fit our needs perfectly. The pictures are accurate, the view is spectacular. We stayed 12 days. The owners are very friendly, checked with us frequently to see if we needed anything ( more coffee ). The home was completely set up from BBQ to a French Press Coffee maker. Beach chairs and snorkel gear were in the outdoor closet. We used the home as a base, made day trips from there. On this coffee farm we saw wild pigs, turkeys and of course chickens. The chickens do start their day early though so be ready. However with the time difference it was not a problem. We would definitely rent this home again.

Our first time to the Kona coast.

Perfect!

This house is excellent! It's clean, updated, and well-appointed. And, on top of that, the property is lovely. It feels like you're in your own little world there with barely another house in sight. But, actually, you're very close to town and many attractions and amenities. It was nice sitting on the screened-in porch in the morning with a cup of coffee that came from the coffee plants right below. The owners were very friendly and nice, going above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and making sure we never ran out of their awesome coffee. If I ever make it back to the Big Island, I would stay here again for sure. The only warning (which wasn't a huge problem for us, but it's something to be prepared for) is that you will be woken up at 5:30 or 6 in the morning by a very vocal rooster. But, if you don't go back to sleep, you'll just have more time to explore Hawaii! :)

Home from Home

As overseas tourists and first timers to the VRBO scene we were perhaps slightly apprehensive about the standard of accomodation, but I can say without doubt this was a fabulous place to stay. We loved the pool, the hot tub, the beautiful surroundings and the peace and quiet. Close to local amenities when needed, but also far from the maddening crowds (The local food store at the bottom of the road does really good burgers and coffee). Dave and Trudy were excellent hosts and gave us some helpful tips. The coffee tour Dave gave was very informative and the coffee and biscuits at the end were delicious. I would definitely come back again if on Big Island.

WOW!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our favorite VRBO ever. Great setting, cool because of altitude. Well equipped, comfortable & very clean. Dave & Trudy are exceptional hosts. The pool & hot tub were wonderful, right off our front porch. Quiet rural setting, but close to Kona & most attractions. Their coffee is some of the best I have ever had & Dave's plantation tour is interesting & comprehensive. Recommend for anyone wanting to get away from the noisy, crowded beach hotel scene. Try the Strawberry Patch Restaurant nearby.

Summer Holiday

  • 5 of 5

What a special place! We stayed here for 4 nights and it was truly incredible. The location, weather, house, views, pool, night sounds and coffee were exceptional. Trudy and Dave were so nice and accommodating. I would highly recommend this property and plan to stay here again. It was nice being outside of the tourist area of Kona and have our own private space, yet close to town if wanting to see some sights.
