Cottage on Melrose
The property itself was absolutely perfect. Very cozy and comfortable. Very quiet neighborhood. The only issue we had were the potholes in the street, which they had started filling while we were there. Otherwise, it was wonderful.
Cottage on Melrose was a great place to stay! It was very close to all of the attractions for one thing and another, it was super cute and super clean! They had everything you needed and everything was labeled! Very organized and well kept! I definitely recommend staying here!
This house is perfect for a relaxing get away. It's in a quiet neighborhood, but still close to all area attractions. The owners are very accommodating and are quick to respond to any questions. I can't wait to stay here again!
Fun Volleyball weekend
My granddaughter from Lakeville, (Twin Cities area) was playing in a tournament in Duluth. I live in Babbitt Mn, and so we got together at your home . It all worked out perfectly, good location, everything was clean and cute. My 2 youngest granddaughters had never been in a home built before 1960, so they thought it was "odd", but I loved all the charm, and the way you had it decorated.
Perfect property for a perfect stay.
Cozy home away from home nestled in quiet neighborhood.
Like staying at a friends house.
We bid and won a weekend to stay at The Cottage on Melrose at a silent auction to benefit a friend who had become paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. Until the auction I had not heard of the place in Duluth but the information looked nice. We we're given several options for weekends to reserve the Cottage and chose the first weekend in February thinking we could get in some skiing at Spirit Mountain. They call this place a cottage but in reality it's a two story home with an extra room downstairs. Although it has a cottage "feel", it's more like going to a friends house to stay as everything is there as if your friends said come use our house just bring your own food! I think most of us who have traveled and stayed in nice hotels have gotten used to cheap soap, shampoo, kleenex, toilet paper, etc., but everything was like you would expect to find at a friends. Things like coffee, salt, pepper, garlic, and other seasonings were there in a spice rack and are the kind of things you expect to forget when buying supplies for the weekend. The place was very clean and comfortable. We communicated when we arrived via text on the owners cell phone and received a message right away telling us to enjoy our stay and if we had any questions we could contact him or another manager and would hear right away. There were no issues as they had a visitors book that described everything about the property in great detail. They also had brochures about Duluth which we read even though we had been there several times and still learned quite a bit. Even though our trip was about a month ago (I feel terrible this review took so long) we are still talking about the fun we had and that reminded me to write this. I could go on about the fun we had in Duluth but will leave you with this one suggestion. Go to the Radisson top floor restaurant. It rotates and gives you a 360 degree view of the city. Great place to make your plan for the afternoon or next day. We will stay again and are grateful for the care the owners take to make such a place available, in a great city, at a fair price.
