|Minimum Stay||3 - 7 nights|
2013 is the first year we have rented our family beach house on Anna Maria Island. Our kids are in school and it is harder to get down to FL. We love this quaint and charming area of Florida. The house sits on a canal at the end of a cul de sac off of historic Pine Avenue. The house is a 5 minute walk to the beach. You are also in walking distance of great restaurants (the waterfront, relish cafe, city pier & the sand bar) and fabulous boutiques and shops that line Pine Avenue.
The beach is in a secluded area of the island that does not have much public access - therefore it feels very private and not too crowded. The only open air waterfront restaurant - the sand bar sits at the end of the street - this is perfect for lunch, or a cocktail after visiting the beach.
Inside the house you will find four bedrooms - one bedroom on the first level, two bedrooms on the second level and one loft bedroom on the third floor. The first level bedroom sleeps two in a pull out sofa, the second level has a master king bed and a queen bed in the two rooms, the third floor loft has two twin beds with pull out trundel twin beds. In total the house sleeps 8 comfortably. There is a long living area on the second level with an open kitchen and an adjacent dining area leading into the open living room with wood burning fireplace. The living room has a series of sliding doors that look out onto a second floor deck surrounding the house. The deck contains outdoor living room furniture and a dining table that seats four. There are two bathrooms on the second level - one has a two person shower and the other has a large soak tub with jets. The house contains three tv's; in the master, kids loft and main living room with cable. High speed wireless internet is available.
The back yard contains a large swimming pool and a 8 person hot tub. To the side of the pool is a built in tile bar and outdoor kitchen with a gas grill, pool, refrigerator, and sink. An outdoor bathroom and shower are also poolside. Beach gear and kids toys provided. There are small life jackets, various bikes, and a rugged beach stroller available for your use while at the property. The backyard also contains a dock and a boat lift (there are two covered bridges out to the bay).
The house is nicely decorated and has a well equipped kitchen. The views from every room are soothing and beautiful.
Longboat Key is a 15 minute drive and St. Armands circle is a 35 minute drive - you can reach downtown Sarasota in 45 minutes from the house. The closest airport is Sarasota (40 minutes), Tampa airport is also nearby (70 minutes).

Our family is located in Columbus, Ohio and we come here often as this is our home away from home. Scott is a Broker/Realtor in Columbus, and Tricia is an Editor and Chief of Edible Columbus magazine.
Brittany Wirebaugh purchased this house in 2006
This property has so much to offer. With the location, and all of the amenities the home features, you are surely going to want to come back every year,
Located off the main strip, the home is secluded and private.
The property is great and we enjoyed everything. Located in a cul-de-sac and right near everything you could need. We would stay here again if we have the chance.
We loved our week on Anna Maria Island, and this house offered everything we needed, with comfortable furnishings for the 9 of us (2 families). We lucked out on the unseasonable weather, every day was warm and sunny. The kids loved the hot tub and pool, sleeping in the loft, short walk to the beach and the Donut Experiment on Pine. For meals, we sat 3 kids at the bar, with the rest at the table. We enjoyed many of the extra amenities, such as tons of DVDs, bike, the beach buggy/wagon and toys. Thank you for sharing your home, everything was wonderful.
The house is so pretty, we found all we need in a beach house. The hot pool and Jacuzzi were wonderful, we enjoyed during day and night, the kids enjoyed the bikes, fishing, and playing with the table games as well, the canal is in the back of the house so we bought our boat. The house is big and comfortable for a large family, is provided with two wine coolers, which we found very nice. We recommend this property, and we are hopping to come back next year. Thank you very much Brittany and Scott!!!
A lovely home. There were nine in our party, and we had plenty of room. We especially enjoyed the pool, We took 0ur kayaks and rented a large boat also, so the pier was enjoyed by all.Would recommend to others.
We have visited Anna Maria several times and prefer the North end location for our family and this home's location was great. Very close walk to Pine Ave (and the trolley), with lots of fun nearby. The little market is great for deli salads, sandwich essentials, etc but go to grocery for anything major. The kids loved the bikes & scooter for getting to/from the beach or just burning off energy in the cul de sac. There were a ton of pool/beach toys, swim vests, rafts, beach chairs, beach cart, several adult and kid bikes. You may need to consider renting a bike trailer or bike with training wheels if your kids aren't steady on two-wheelers. We rented a pack & play to make a "bedroom" for our toddler in the master closet. Our 4 & 7 year olds slept in the loft and sometimes had trouble settling down if it was too noisy in the main living area, but this set up would be great for older kids who can stay up a bit later. Can sleep 4 children with the trundles. They LOVED the toy box and games. There is a high chair and bumbo seat, too. The pool was great. If you have a child not safe around stairs, I would definitely contact a local rental agency for a baby gate to block the stairs, but I think it could be easily managed. Our 19 month old did fine (although I didn't let her on the deck unsupervised because even though it is all enclosed--no stairs--there are a few areas that the width between the slats is large enough for her head--paranoid mama here). One minor inconvenience is that the only indoor shower is in the attached master. The hall bath has a giant tub with sprayer, so if you have other adults that don't mind using the tub, no big deal. The outdoor shower has hot water, though, too, so it wasn't really a problem for us. (also note there is a toilet in the pool room, hard to see beyond toys, etc but VERY useful). The kitchen table set up can get crowded bc it is kind of tight to move around in that area, but there is seating outside as well, and toward the end of our stay we did notice a leaf for the table in the entry closet. Also had to move a lamp in for light at dinner time. The downstairs bedroom is truly only a pull-out sofa, and not too comfortable according to my brother-in-law, FYI, but there is a TV there so it makes a good 2nd lounging place. The house has some wear and tear, but it worked great for our family of five, with frequent visits from nearby family and friends. The house could definitely accommodate 2 families if you are close. :)
The Anna Marie Hideway was everything we could hope for our family vacation. The house is spacious and very comfortable in a quiet secluded area of the island. There was something to suit our large family members needs and preferences as the house is packed with movies, toys, bikes, a great pool and is located in a canal so we rented a Kayak for the time being there and took numerous kayak trip to the City piers.
We will definitely come back to this house next year to enjoy the beautiful Anna Maria Island.
Thank you very much Nicole and Scott!
