The new kitchen has oak cabinets with granite counters, copper sink, and new appliances including a washer and dryer.

Refinished hardwood floors throughout this home gently remind us of it's past with character and warmth.

About Gretchen Palmer

We have lived in Central Oregon for over 40 years, building homes and communities in Sunriver, Bend, Redmond and Sisters. Having lived near downtown ourselves, this home exemplifies our favorite neighborhood that Central Oregon has to offer!

Gretchen Palmer purchased this bungalow in 2011

Why Gretchen Palmer chose Bend

This home is an ideal location for all the events that we enjoy in Central Oregon. Within walking distance to the numerous restaurants and shops in downtown and the Old Mill, this home is perfect! An easy stroll in a quaint neighborhood brings back memories of a less complicated lifestyle. Access is easy to the road to the mountains and the lakes where the paths and trails beckon.

What makes this bungalow unique

The charm of this 1926 home is warm and inviting, from the arched doorways and hardwood floors to the old school lighting and even retro door hardware. The new somewhat art-deco ceiling fans and fixtures harken back to simpler times while providing guests with today's conveniences.

A charming home with an exceptional location in downtown Bend.

Great location, charming house with updated emanities.

  • 5 of 5

You could not have a better location in Bend to walk to the downtown area or the Mill and enjoy all the great bars, restaurants and shopping without out having to worry about a car.

The house is a charming bungelow, which feels much bigger than the square footage. You have a sense of a well made home with a great updated kitchen when you don't want to eat out.

Will defiantly stay here again!

great remodel and great location

  • 5 of 5

The property was as advertised. Professionally fully remodeled and outfitted with everything needed in the kitchen and elsewhere. The beds were very comfortable, the house has good AC and ceiling fans in the bedrooms. The house is a short walk to groceries, downtown, Drake park, brew pubs and the Les Schwab amphitheater/old mill district is about a 20 minute walk. We spent 3 nights and only used the car on the last day to go golfing. The only thing to note is that the house is on a main downtown street with some traffic. This didn't bother us as we enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the world go by.

Location Location Location!!!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot say enough about this little bungalow. The place was fantastic. It has been beautifuly updated. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs. The front porch is a great place to enjoy a beverage and people watch as they walk by towards downtown.

The floors creak a little, but that gives the home its character.

It's 3 blocks from Downtown and 3 blocks from Old Mill. Market of choice is 2 blocks and it is awesome.

It's great for two friends or two couples, as there are only two beds. The only thing it lacked was a sofa bed for groups of three single adults.

This place is excellent!!!

Charming, Comfortable, and Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for six nights and thoroughly enjoyed the property. There was plenty of room for the two of us, the kitchen was well equipped, wifi worked, furnishings were comfortable. I loved the big dining table. We walked to downtown and drove to various hikes out of town. The remodelling was well done and kept the bungalow charm. We'd stay here again.

wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Great place.....wonderful place. I liked everything about it. I have worked many 'remodels' also, and very much like the detail and design. Quick suggestions: I think the bath fans are not compatible with the electronic timers resulting in very loud humming, and one not working at all. Replacement with mechanical fan switches might make for a quick fix (like a rotary timer/switch). Also, the kitchen sink fixture is loose. Look forward to a return stay....thank you.
