Overview

Old Bend Bungalow Rental Photos and Description

Charming newly restored 2 bedroom 2 bath home in old Bend downtown neighborhood.

This 1926 home has been newly restored to bring it's old time charm back to life with contemporary conveniences.

The new kitchen has oak cabinets with granite counters, copper sink, and new appliances including a washer and dryer.

Refinished hardwood floors throughout this home gently remind us of it's past with character and warmth.

The 2 bedrooms are furnished with luxurious queen beds and the master has a new private bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower. The hall bath too has new tiled tub/shower and marble floor.

Guests are sure to gather in the spacious living/dining room or outside in the private backyard setting or front fenced yard, that offer privacy yet a view to the neighborhood. The home also has A/C for the warmer summer days.

We are just a few blocks from downtown and one block from Jackson's Corner, the local corner lunch and dinner eatery with adult beverages. Strictly Organic coffee is just 2 blocks away.

Something is sure to be happening and you will be just steps away from it all in this cozy home.

About Gretchen Palmer

We have lived in Central Oregon for over 40 years, building homes and communities in Sunriver, Bend, Redmond and Sisters. Having lived near downtown ourselves, this home exemplifies our favorite neighborhood that Central Oregon has to offer!

Gretchen Palmer purchased this bungalow in 2011

Why Gretchen Palmer chose Bend

This home is an ideal location for all the events that we enjoy in Central Oregon. Within walking distance to the numerous restaurants and shops in downtown and the Old Mill, this home is perfect! An easy stroll in a quaint neighborhood brings back memories of a less complicated lifestyle. Access is easy to the road to the mountains and the lakes where the paths and trails beckon.

What makes this bungalow unique

The charm of this 1926 home is warm and inviting, from the arched doorways and hardwood floors to the old school lighting and even retro door hardware. The new somewhat art-deco ceiling fans and fixtures harken back to simpler times while providing guests with today's conveniences.

A charming home with an exceptional location in downtown Bend.

Great location and comfortable home!

  • 5 of 5

Our party of three enjoyed our stay at Gretchen's home. We could walk to everything - downtown Bend, the Mill District the house was centrally located. Everything worked out well and our host was a pleasure to work with for our vacation in Bend. I would highly recommend staying at this location again for a return trip to Bend. Thanks! Julie

First of all the house is beautiful and location, location, location! Walk to downtown, Old Mill, Coffee houses , and a great supermarket. Nice backyard, and patio with grill. Quiet at night. Gretchen was great to work with.

Excellent Historic Bungalow Close to Town

  • 5 of 5

This property was just what my wife and I were expecting. It was nicely located to access the main attractions of the town of Bend. The Host, Gretchen Palmer was very helpful the few times we needed to contact her. The house was very clean and nicely appointed.

Perfect location and house

  • 5 of 5

This home was perfection. It is a small bungalow but it feels big because the kitchen is open to the dining and living areas. Everything in the home was high quality, from the kitchen cabinets to the furniture to the linens. They even had really nice bathroom products available.

The location is ideal for walking everywhere. It is close to lots of restaurants and downtown. (We especially loved Jackson's Corner just a couple blocks away.)

I would say the only slight negative is that the bedrooms are pretty small. We had to move the bed to get a pack 'n play to fit alongside it. That said, this was a very minor inconvenience and everything else about the house was totally worth the small bedrooms. (We didn't spend a lot of time in there.)

I would definitely come back to this rental if we return to Bend in the future.

Beautiful cozy Bungalow

  • 5 of 5

This historic beautifully remodeled bungalow was perfect for our stay in Bend. The location is easy walking distance to downtown restaurants, bars, and the theater. A covered garage is available for locking up bikes. The kitchen is modern and there is plenty of seating in the dining room in addition to the nook area. Outdoor seating as well. We plan on staying here every time we visit Bend. Impeccably clean!
