About Gretchen Palmer

We have lived in Central Oregon for over 40 years, building homes and communities in Sunriver, Bend, Redmond and Sisters. Having lived near downtown ourselves, this home exemplifies our favorite neighborhood that Central Oregon has to offer!

Gretchen Palmer purchased this bungalow in 2011

Why Gretchen Palmer chose Old Bend

This home is an ideal location for all the events that we enjoy in Central Oregon. Within walking distance to the numerous restaurants and shops in downtown and the Old Mill, this home is perfect! An easy stroll in a quaint neighborhood brings back memories of a less complicated lifestyle. Access is easy to the road to the mountains and the lakes where the paths and trails beckon.

What makes this bungalow unique

The charm of this 1926 home is warm and inviting, from the arched doorways and hardwood floors to the old school lighting and even retro door hardware. The new somewhat art-deco ceiling fans and fixtures harken back to simpler times while providing guests with today's conveniences.

A charming home with an exceptional location in downtown Bend.

Great location, charming house with updated emanities.

  • 5 of 5

You could not have a better location in Bend to walk to the downtown area or the Mill and enjoy all the great bars, restaurants and shopping without out having to worry about a car.

The house is a charming bungelow, which feels much bigger than the square footage. You have a sense of a well made home with a great updated kitchen when you don't want to eat out.

Will defiantly stay here again!

Quaint home completely renovated , felt like home as soon as you walked through the door.

  • 5 of 5

We loved this home, the pictures on line matched what greeted us when we stepped through the door. The home is tastefully renovated, and everything you would need was supplied, from condiments to shampoos, to laundry detergent. The kitchen was well supplied with everything you need to make meals. Gretchen supplied loads of information on activities and local attractions as well as a detailed history of Bend which I found very interesting.

The neighbour hood was warm and friendly and the home within easy walking to downtown and the Old Mill District.

We loved our stay in Bend and this home contributed to that feeling.

Another great stay in the bungalow on Bond ST. Just as welcoming as my last stay. Love the use of local products and how clean the house was. Hope to be back to Bend soon and stay in the bungalow.

Great location for walking around Bend

  • 5 of 5

Very prompt and helpful commication from owner. The pictures accurately direct what you can expect. Very quiet location. Ideal for two couples. We did not cook while there, but the kitchen is well equipped. If returning to Bend, we will certainly try to make this our place to stay.

We enjoyed our 3-day stay at 238 Bond St during early Sept 2017. The house is comfortable and well-equipped, and within easy access of many of Bend's highlights.

Very clean, well equipped, and charming house near downtown Bend

  • 4 of 5

Everything was close to perfect. The beds were excellent but were high for us to get in, and with the height and footboards really filled up the rooms.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in our Bond Street bungalow. Yes, the rooms are old style small in this bungalow and we do our best to make it cozy. The rooms were designed for the smaller beds of the 1920's and the comfortable queen beds and mattresses of today do take up more space. I hope you will return, nonetheless, and enjoy our convenient location in downtown Bend again. Thank you, Gretchen Pamler
