We had a lovely time vacationing on Candlewood Lake, and this house was the perfect venue. We took countless walks across the street to the playground with our 3 year old grandson who enjoyed playing with other children on the well maintained equipment, splashing in the lake, and befriending Daisy, a local duck. We spent time on the back patio and fired up the wood-burning fire pit (and yes, there were the makings for s’mores!). Each morning we shared coffee on yet another patio overlooking the lake while planning the day’s many activities. We ended each evening outside sharing stories under a wonderland light strings surrounding the gardens. Sukey and Jim provide for every need within their welcoming home including fresh bed and bath linens, and any kitchen gadget you could possibly need. We’ll be back again next year!
We had a family wedding on Candlewood Lake and this house was perfect for our stay. Everything we needed to do was within easy driving distance. The community is great for walking and beautiful photos of the lake. Great beds with linens provided was a definite plus. Now we have extended family in CT so we'll be back!
This house makes you feel at home right away. It is perfectly located near the clubhouse, tennis court and basketball court. Sukey and Jim were very welcoming, the communication while I was planning everything along the way was awesome. They answered every question I had and gave great advice on the general area. It is very close to stores as well so if you forgot something it was easy enough to run out. We had a great stay.
go there again. The hostWhat a glorious place to celebrate two birthdays, 78th and 50th. The house was spacious and the kitchen had good quality equipment. The house itself was very comfortable and the log fire was a dream. We would certainly go there again. The hosts were most thoughtful leaving red roses for my daughters 5oth.
The house was perfect for us--one baby, two young children, and four adults. The baby and his parents had a perfect downstairs suite with their own bathroom, and the upstairs living room, dining room, and kitchen were comfortable, nicely furnished, and provided everything we needed. The location is lovely, with a view of the lake. We were there at a very quiet time and enjoyed the serenity.
A beautiful house with lots of personal touches, which make you feel at home right away. Immaculately clean! It is very peaceful and quiet location, so perfect to relax! Sukey and Jim were very welcoming and showed us around the lake house, giving thoughtful advice on the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
Prestigious water community with gate house security, tennis courts, club house, beach, and basketball available. Bring your family for summer fun. Also available in off-season for weekend getaways, tree peeping, antiquing, and visiting the Connecticut Wine Trails.
