About Cheryl T Hornyan
Robert & I (Cheryl) live full time in Tempe, Arizona.
Cheryl T Hornyan purchased this Townhome in 2016
Why Cheryl T Hornyan chose Old Town
Robert & I decided that we wanted to purchase a place near our youngest daughter, who has lived in the DC area for a few years now. While looking at homes in Old Town Alexandria, we fell for the history of this house (built in the 1700s by Captain John Harper), as well as the accessibility of all that Old Town has to offer and it's close proximity to the metro, so that we can easily traipse into DC when we wish without needing a car.
What makes this Townhome unique
When you open the door to this place, it is like stepping back in time. We fell in love with every quirky thing about this house, from the window between the living and dining areas that slants toward the right, to the crazy staircase that leads to the third floor bedroom. Yet, the place still has all the modern amenities that provide us with a comfortable place to stay when we visit our family. Unfortunately, we only get to visit about every 6 weeks, which is why we decided to make it available on HomeAway. Many people visit Captains Row but our home is currently the only opportunity for people to actually experience it.

Wonderful Historic Property
Of all of the properties that we have visited over the last ten years through VRBO, this property tops the list for cleanliness and enjoyability. The location is great. Cheryl was so easy to work with. I highly recommend this property if you are visiting the DC area.
Amazing home in a amazing location.
I can not imagine a better place to stay in Old Town. The house had everything we needed and more!
This was a very charming place with all the necessary amenities. It was a perfect location and very clean. Cheryl, the owner, was very accommodating. This is a must revisit! .
This was our 2nd stay at Captain's Row and like our 1st time, It did not disappoint! Best location ever! The house spotless and had all the amenities you ever need. I promise you, we will staying at 103 again & again! Thanks again for all your hospitality!!! See you soon, Peg & Phil
Peggy & Phil...I’m so glad that you enjoy our place on Prince as much as we do! You will always be welcome!
Excellent stay, beautiful home, great town
We spent 4 days visiting the DC area, staying in Alexandria. Between the water taxi, Uber, and walking, we never used our car. Parking was a breeze, as Cheryl provided parking passes for each day that allowed us to park along the street. We moved the car a couple times during our stay just to move it closer to the house. (at most, it was one block away)
The house was excellent, super easy to access, within walking distance to everything in Old Town Alexandria including the water taxi to DC. We had 2 adults and two young kids (7 and 9) and the house was a great fit.
Cheryl was very helpful through the whole process, responding to messages within 30 minutes or less every time. We would certainly stay here again.
Thank you, Brandon. You & your family are welcome anytime!
