Charles and I love living in San Miguel. We retired to Mexico and have a property rental business, so are fully aware of what makes for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday and vacation home for travelers - and other retirees. We are members of the duplicate bridge club and croquet clubs and can also direct guests to golfing and tennis locations and partners. He is a graduate of the Naval Academy at Annapolis, and attended Farragut Academy and is originally from Brooklyn NY. I attended the University of California and School of the Holy Child in Suffern, NY but lived mostly in the Marin County area near San Francisco, California.
Judy McKay purchased this apartment in 2005
We chose to buy this property for the quiet of its residential district, yet its closeness and convenience to the exciting markets, cafes, art galleries, restaurants and other numerous attractions of centro San Miguel.
Casa Bajale is unique in its colorful blue and indio red exterior, its purple vine covered walls. Formerly the two story bodega and store of Namuh, the international Asian furniture company, we have recently remodeled the property into two comfortable apartments, the second floor and roof garden of which comprise Casa Bajale.
San Miguel is a designated World Landmark city. Art galleries, artisan markets, language schools, cooking classes, jewelry making classes, antique centers, guided tours, international cuisine restaurants, food stalls, flea markets, especially the weekly Tuesday market, not to be missed. The city and its fiestas and markets and 18th century architecture are a photographer's delight. Annual international writers' conference, annual chamber music, symphony and jazz festivals.
