The property borders the 700 Acre South Kent School property with miles of gentle trails in the woods for cross country skiing, snow shoeing and walks. For Downhill - Mohawk is 20 minutes away and open and making lots of snow. Lots of winter walks within miles of the house. The Appalachian trail is just a mile west of us - see the Bulls Bridge entrance. Our favorite walk in Kent is Pond Mountain and Macedonia State Park offers many challenging hikes. The House: Bedrooms sleep 7 and a new trundle that sleeps 2 more in the game room. Three bedrooms - master with king bed and bath, bedroom with 2 queens and a bedroom with three twins. Perfect for families with separate living and game/TV room. Ping Pong table and game boards. Let us know what you like to do and we'll help you plan a week or a weekend. Full services available - shopping, meal prep, cleaning, hiking guide (member Appalachian Trail Club). Excellent art gallery hopping and antiquing nearby in Kent, New Preston, and many beautiful towns throughout Litchfield County. See for ski information. Even though we ski in Vermont - Mohawk Mountain is our favorite spot. Usually very few lines, great lodge, night skiing, great food and wonderful children's program! We love this place.

About Elizabeth Place
We have lived next door for 20 years and purchased our neighbor's home next door in 2017. We renovated the house and now use it for our own family parties, local private school guests and Home Away renters. We now have many repeat guests and have made new friends along the way. As we make improvements to the house, it is becoming a very special place for parties and family gatherings.
Elizabeth Place purchased this House in 2017
Why Elizabeth Place chose South Kent
Kent is amazing in Winter for cross country skiing, downhill 20 minutes north at Mohawk, winter walks along the Housatonic River. The property is super quiet with miles of walking and hiking on the South Kent School trails behind the house, sit out on the lawn and contemplate the cows in the pasture below. (A four year old guest named them all over her August stay.) Walk to the waterfalls at Bulls Bridge and take a canoe out on Hatch Pond, one mile west. Come home to a great cooking kitchen and fireplace or cook outside and sit around the firepit at night. Excellent spot for stargazing!!
What makes this House unique

Wonderful winter holiday!
What a wonderful holiday we had here! We spent a relaxing 5 days in this cozy, tastefully decorated home where you want for nothing. Upon check in, there were delicious treats awaiting us and Elizabeth was available to answer any questions before and during our stay. There was plenty of space for us to spread out and all the beds were comfortable. The house location is perfect.... secluded yet close to many cute towns and yummy restaurants. Can’t wait to return.
Property was perfect and view was breathtaking!!
The house was set up perfectly for my family. Even left little treats for us! Arrived in the early hours of the morning and was in awe as the sun rose over the mountains! Has to be one of the best house we have rented this far!
Thanks so much. Please come visit us again.
A special, fall family getaway
We had a great stay - the house was perfectly appointed, with fresh eggs and bread for the morning. The layout was ideal for our family with two teenagers and two adults. Elizabeth was available and easy to work with. And the view of the mountains/surrounding land made it an idyllic, rural Connecticut experience. We world definitely hope to return.
Thank you! Please come again.
Wonderful house, Gorgeous Views!
My family gathered in Kent for a sad occasion after having moved south 8 years ago. Coming home and staying in this lovely house was exactly that...Home! Upon our arrival we found a spotlessly clean, well maintained home with amenities too numerous to list. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses and cookware for a family of 7, and there was no shortage of towels, blankets and shampoos/conditioners etc.. The views were amazing, especially watching the snowstorm coming in! Elizabeth left us an abundance of wonderful goodies in the refrigerator ( not just the typical milk and coffee you might get in other rentals) so were able to fix a huge breakfast with fresh eggs watching the snow from the living room. We loved the cozy feel of this house and hope to return next time we go home to visit.
Beautiful sunsets and autumn leaves
Another wonderful stay at Berkshire Place. The property is well maintained and it's clear the owner takes pride in ownership. I will be back again the next time I am in the area!
