Our family originates here and we moved back to this beautiful area after over 20 years in Seattle - a dream come true for us. Mom was born in Troy and dad in Noxon and thanks to them, we've learned alot about the history and life here - we are happy to share with our visitors.
Martha & Neil Odegard purchased this house in 1997
We bought this property because we've been in love with this area our whole lives and always planned to move back here when children finished college. It is heaven on earth, a pristine lake surrounded by beautiful mountians and forest.
We manage several properties and an help accomodate lodging for extended family and friends for events such as weddings, family reunions, other venues

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding site. We are so thankful that you allowed us to stay in your home. It was awsome. We will absolutely refer this place to our friends and family. Thank you Thank you Thank you.
We stayed there for the week of August 13-20, 2016. We had a large group of 10 adults and 16 kids between the ages 2-16 yrs. Three couples and 8 kids easily fit in the main cabin, and two couples and the other 8 kids fit in the two smaller cabins and bunkroom next to the outdoor kitchen shelter.
The property has a lot to offer, the very large open grassy area was always used for games and running around. There is a large fire pit and fire wood provided along with chairs for about 40 people which was utilized every night. The kitchens are very stocked with electric griddles,(4) electric roasters, pots, pans, food processor, spices, cutting boards, including a large quantity of plates, bowls and utensils.
The lake and beach was our favorite pastime. The lake is very clean, and warm. Depth averages about 30-40 feet. The beach is small and rocky with sand, but shallow up to you waist for about 40 feet out then it drops off. The lake has a lot of fish.(Kokanee and Trout)
There are several kayaks, a canoe, and a paddle boat that were enjoyed by all ages. A good tip is to bring water shoes if you will be on the beach often. On the north side of the lake against the mountain there is a rope swing that was a lot of fun.
Just a 10 minute drive south is Ross Creek Cedars, an enjoyable hike. We also went to Kootenai Falls and swinging bridge on the highway between Libby and Troy. Troy and Libby both have good sized supermarkets for all you grocery needs. Directly across the road from the cabin is a bar that has really good food and a tiny general store with simple provisions.
There is wifi at the main cabin but it is maybe 500 Kbps, so very slow and spotty just enough to get emails but barely stream YouTube. There is AC in the main cabin living room and master bedroom, but not in any other areas. There is a large fan in the other large room which was never off as the weather our week was always hot.(30-35 degrees Celsius)
A suggestions is for a few standing fans for the other bedrooms would be a good idea. It also helps drain out the sound of the highway that can be quite noisy at night.
The smaller cabins near the shelter also had a second laundry room which was unexpected.
One of the best property setups we've ever seen and and easily slept 26 people without utilizing trailers. (there are 5 trailer power hookups throughout the property with 50/30/20 amp plugs in each)
The house, cabins, pavilion, property and view are amazing! Everything comes well stocked for cooking supplies, showers, bedding, laundry,etc...we would definitely stay here again and again!!!!!
This is the most incredible lake front property in Montana! We had 5 families stay for a week and we all wished we could have stayed longer. There was plenty of room for us all to spread out and enjoy times together or alone. The kids had a blast playing games in the grassy area, catching frogs, diving off the dock, and having kayak dumping wars. The adults enjoyed the outdoor cooking area, fire pits and easy dock access for our boats. There was so much to do and see. We loved our time boating, going to the rope swing, hiking the cedars, and checking out the swing bridge. Most of all we were taken back by the beauty God created in the place! WOW!!
We had 9 adults and 11 kids ranging from high school to pre-school with poor weather (mostly windy). Thanks to the pavilion, games and very large yard, everyone had a great time. Bad weather would have been the end at most places, but this place does not simply rely on the magnificent lake.
We spent a fantastic December week at this location. It was the "Whitest" Christmas we could have asked for. It snowed two feet while we were there and was Amazingly beautiful. Besides the glorious landscape, we saw Big Horn Sheep, wild turkeys, deer, and some other hooved animals (maybe some kind of wild goats?)
The roads are plowed consistently.
The home and cabins were perfect for our extended-family Christmas. We put families with young children in the cabins so that children could go to bed at night, and with a baby monitor their parents could return to the main house with the adults play cards, etc. then returned to the cabins to sleep. It worked perfectly.
The owners could not have been easier to work with or more responsive.
I was SOO pleasantly surprised by how well stocked the kitchen was. I brought a few pans from home "just in case", but there was no need. Also there was a wide assortment of spices and other kitchen extras such as vanilla.
The home is beautiful. The beds are AWESOME! Every single adult commented on how comfortable the beds were. Even people with "memory foam" beds at home said these beds were more comfortable. The linens and towels were plentiful and of high quality.
We expected to be outside more than we were but found the snow to be so powdery we couldn't make snowballs or snowmen, etc. And we were feeling like an episode of "Man vs Wild" for a few hours when the power went off all around the lake.(just kidding) but neither of those are the property owners fault.
Note:Bring everything you need for food. The nearest store is about 15 miles (30 minute drive on snowy roads) away. Unless you are on Verizon you will have no cell service. Wi-Fi is slow and spotty, but adequate.
Overall I was EXTREMLY happy with our rental
This house was beautifully situated! With our large family, it is difficult for us to find a place for a reunion that we can afford. But this home had ample room for all - accessible bathrooms for handicapped, plus extra air mattresses for extra kids. We easily fit 25 people in the various rooms - with teen boys sleeping in a tent. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking items, and there were great boating opportunities, with life jackets available. Everything was clean and well maintained. The owners are very easy going. They even provided firewood for an outdoor fire. It is a very relaxing place to stay. Thank you, Neil and Martha!
