|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
Just a 23 minute drive south from Cancun Airport....Palazzo Paradiso is situated on 1/3 acre, with lush gardens, out-door beach shower, and was designed for comfort, luxury, privacy and security.
Palazzo Paradiso has 5 bedrooms, (4 brand new king size beds, and 2 queen) each with its own top of the line Panasonic high efficiency mini split air conditioning units, and private bathroom. There is a sitting area on the second floor with comfortable seating, also can be a sleep area for children. All bedrooms are very pretty. Four bedrooms have balconies. Three of the bedrooms face the ocean and two face the jungle at the rear of the property. The rooftop terrace has two built-in sunbathing beds (or somewhere to sleep out at night) facing the sea. To the west, facing the jungle you'll find a queen size sun lounger in our sun-trap area. Great place to get away and relax. At night, sleep under the stars and listen to the waves.
Palazzo Paradiso is decorated nicely, and is well equipped, so you shouldn't need to bring very much with you. We have bikes, board games, 3 kayaks, lifejackets, walkie talkies, pool equipment, boogie boards, snorkelling gear, Ipod players, Shaw satellite TV, Flat screen TVs, DVD players/ DVDs, and books.
The kitchen is well equipped, with all necessary appliances, including an icemaker, wine fridge, and beer fridge. We also have new silverware and dinner service.
You can keep in touch with broadband internet access (with wi-fi that works up to the first bedroom level). The 60 inch Smart LED TV is Internet and Skype enabled. We have a mexican cell phone for your use. In addition, we have a VOIP phone that allows free calling to the US and Canada.
Each room has mini-split air-conditioning, but it is mostly not needed, because there's nearly always gentle breezes blowing.
We have a solar heated private pool, 14 sun-loungers, raised sand area for young children to play, out-door beach shower, palapas, and two hammocks. Take a few steps down to a quiet beach.
If you wish, we can organize someone to shop, and cook for you, allowing you to spend more time on the beach. We can even organize tours, fishing trips, snorkeling or scuba diving. Our objective is for you to have a safe, comfortable and relaxing time.
There are tons of things to do in the area. The fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a delight, with lots of inexpensive restaurants and entertainment. We are located about half way between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, very convenient for activities, including:
Snorkeling and fishing the protected reef in PM
The Little Mexican Cooking School in PM
Crocacoon Zoo in PM
Waterpark in Cancun
Xplore, Xcaret, Selvetica and XpuHa adventure parks
A trip to Isla Mujeres is a 'must do' hire a golf cart and tour the island.
Various 'swim with the dolphin' locations
Mayan ruins at Tulum, Coba and Chitzenitza
'Swimming with the Turtles' at Akumal Beach
Fifth Avenue in Playa del Carmen
A trip on the ferry to Cozumel
Golfing at one of the excellent local courses
.......and many others
This is a great location to take advantage of everything that the Riviera Maya has to offer.
My husband and I were both born in England, but moved to Canada in 1988. We now have 6 grandkids and have (sort of) retired. We love to travel and have been to many places in the world, but still love to spend time down here in Puerto Morelos because it is so relaxing and yet, if we want to reconnect with the world, we can pop into town, or drive into Cancun or Playa Del Carmen and enjoy all the entertainment and shopping.
John and Carole Keating purchased this house in 2012
We always liked Mexico, and the people here are very friendly. We decided to buy on the ocean in the Mayan Riviera, because there is so much to do here and because we really enjoy going out and exploring what Mexico has to offer. We'd been looking for about a year when, by chance, we ended up in an all-inclusive hotel in Puerto Morelos. We immediately fell in love with this quaint fishing village. I said ''This is the real Mexico. This is where we need to be'. To wander by the locals fishing, to see the kids playing in the town square, to hear the church bells ring every day, to eat great food in inexpensive restaurants, to sip a cappucino on the sidewalk, to pop into the Canadian owned bookstore and to listen to talented musicians at night after walking the beach in the day. What more could you want?
Palazzo Paradiso is situated in the North end of the town, so it is quiet and relaxing. It's at the end of a fairly private beach road and, because we have a velador living on site, and lots of neighbors we have got to know keeping an eye on things, we all feel very, very safe here. This really is a home away from home. It's not available for rent all the time because we're here as often as we can........kicking back, taking it easy, and enjoying life again. Claudia, our Property Manager is a lovely, Mexican lady who speaks very good English. She owns a travel and rental business in the village. When you have settled in, Claudia will stop by to introduce herself. She will be happy to organize things for you, and will resolve any small problems you may have.
Palazzo Paradiso was the perfect beach hideaway for our two-families vacationing in Mexico, we loved everything! Four adults and eight children thoroughly enjoyed the spacious and beautifully maintained Villa. The patio, pool, beach and verandas were ideal for the children and adults to spend the entire day playing outside…disconnected from the outside world.
John and Carole were excellent to work with and offered suggestions from places to dine to local activities and events. We especially enjoyed Carole’s recommendation of our amazing chef, Fernando. He prepared some of the best local lunch and dinner dishes we have ever enjoyed while vacationing in the region. Fernando also did our grocery shopping for the week so when we arrived, the beer was cold and the snacks were ready for the children. Perfect!
We would definitely recommend this beautiful vacation home to our family and friends.
We just returned from the most amazing 7 night stay in this villa. We had a big, three generation, group including 7 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby and the place was perfect for us. The house itself is spacious, amazingly decorated and one of the best equipped rentals I've ever seen. Neery, the caretaker, was so friendly and helpful. Every morning he always had a smile for each of us.
The owners were so friendly and helpful in answering my constant questions before we left, I am very grateful to them. They helped us arrange a cook, Fernando, for a day and I would recommend doing the same.
The views from even just the front door of this villa take your breath away. I told my husband we are ruined from staying elsewhere because this place was absolute perfection. The pool temperature was perfect for being in constantly (see above regarding the toddler...) and the ocean was great. I read that there was a lot of sea grass in the area, while there was some it did not inhibit swimming in daily and Neery did an amazing job of clearing the beach everyday.
I cannot think of one bad thing to say about this place. We will be back for sure!
We appreciated very much our stay at « Palazzo paradiso ». For us, it was a chance to be with our chidren and their families living 800 kms from us. It was a perfect place to meet, play with the children. The rooms are very large, the king size beds appreciated and we slept magnificiently. Bathrooms for every room is also a plus.
We liked everything! The kitchen with all the appliances we could want, a clean pool of the perfect depth for playing with young kids, lots of toys and balls, large tables to sit everybody easily, the large sitting room with a large screen tv. We haven’t seen a better equipped villa.
Neri was also very helpful and always smiling. He kept the pool and surroundings clean, raked the beach every morning, and even helped us collect quite a few coconuts that helped make fantastic drinks.
The villa is also well situated, with very quiet surroundings, near Puerto Morelos where we went to see the fishermen preparing the fish they had just caught, and found an interesting restaurant where we had a very good meal . It was also quite near a Chedraui supermarket where we found all we needed.
Since also, we had perfect weather every day, we really enjoyed every moment of the too short week.
We stayed at Palazzo Paradiso from Feb 6 to Feb 20 (2 weeks). We were 10 people - 3 generations - 8 adults and 2 kids (ages 5 and 10). It was a perfect home to suit us all. One set of grandparents needed ground floor accommodations due to some mobility issues and this home was ideal. The beds are super comfortable and the linens a nice quality. Each family member loved that each bedroom had its own bathroom - created privacy and individual sanctuary. The kitchen is very well equipped - the dishes, cutlery, pots and pans, small appliances all top notch. We had planned on cooking a lot on our vacation, and it was wonderful cooking in Palazzo Paradiso because of how well stocked everything is. We found the living room large enough for the 10 of us to sit and comfortably watch a movie on the cool evenings we had. The pool area was fabulous with lots of seating and loungers. We all enjoyed hanging around the pool in the mornings. We had a number of cool nights and cloudy days early in our 2 weeks so unfortunately the pools solar heating could not keep up so we did loose a few days of pool swimming but the ocean too was cool those days as well - the culprit was el nino playing havoc with weather patterns. The private beach was amazing.... out the back patio doors, past the pool, along a short boardwalk there it was. It was wonderful to fall asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves. A few other points: lots of pool and beach equipt to make your stay enjoyable: kayaks, boogie boards, life jackets in various sizes. Also soccer, football, and various toss games are available. Inside there is a closet full of board games - we played monopoly on a rainy evening. There are also 4 adult bikes available to use which a number of the adults did. Nerri was wonderful - every morning we were greeted with bright smile as he went about his duties. His care and attention to small details made our stay that much more enjoyable. Be advised that Puerto Morales is a solid 1 hr walk along the beach. We had a car and planned to use taxis (200 pesos one way). We walked into PM 3 times in 2 weeks and used a taxi to get home. John and Carole were excellent to deal with throughout the process - such lovely people. They responded to all emails in a timely manner and worked with us to ensure we had a memorable trip. I have no doubt that if you choose to rent this villa you will not be disappointed. It was a perfect 2 week vacation spot for our family.
My family just returned from a perfect stay at Palazzo Paradiso over Christmas! The house is amazing and could not have been more perfect. Our group included my husband's immediate family (7 adults and 5 children, ages 3 to 16); the home was perfectly suited for us. The bedrooms were wonderful! Lovely linens and pillows and a bathroom for each bedroom was such a luxury for us. Everything in the home (and outside, for that matter!) was very nice and clean. The pool toys, beach toys, games, etc. were incredible! We didn't expect to have so many toys and activities available for the kids so having all of this was awesome.
As another reviewer posted, the house is bigger and nicer than it appears in the photos. There was plenty of space for us to get away for quiet moments of reading &/or rest and lots of quiet space for the kids for naps and going to bed a little earlier than the adults. We loved all of the outdoor seating by the pool and on the rooftop.
Nery was our on-site caretaker. He was WONDERFUL! He was very thorough and helpful. Though there was quite a bit of sea grass on the beach, Nery did a beautiful job clearing it. You could certainly tell the difference between our beach and the neighboring one! He also allowed the smaller children to swim and splash in the pool in the mornings while he was trying to do his job to clean the pool :). He cut down coconuts for us and even located rope so the kids could have some piñata fun on Christmas.
We hired a chef for a few nights, which was amazing! Through some email communication, he shopped prior to our arrival and stocked the house with some basic items. Then he and his wife, Gabi, prepared some of the most wonderful meals any of us have ever eaten. Each meal included a freshly-caught fish and other numerous local dishes. We felt that the cost was very reasonable--certainly less than going out for meals would have been for our large group. Carole provided us with their contact information so if anyone is looking for a chef, please request Juan and Gabi. They were so fun to have around the house in the evenings!
Claudia was available to assist us when we needed it. When we asked for assistance to arrange a snorkeling trip, she made our arrangements and gave us clear directions about where and when to go. This was our second trip into Puerto Morelos -- we really enjoyed the little village!
My family stayed at Palazzo Paradiso in July and had an absolutely amazing time! The house is beautiful, and by far the best equipped house we've ever rented (and we rent houses frequently for vacation travel). In addition to one of the best stocked kitchens I've encountered, the linens were also high quality and plentiful, and the snorkel gear, kayaks, pool toys, etc. were incredible! We brought our own snorkel gear out of habit, but found that the equipment at the house was nicer than ours. :)
The house itself is bigger and nicer than it appears in the photos. We usually travel with 3 families (10 people total), and there would have been more than enough room for all of us. As it was, the 5 of us on this trip had lots of space to spread out, with fun private indoor and outdoor areas to sneak away to for some downtime if needed. We spent quite a bit of time in the lovely hammock, and barely got to take advantage of the awesome decks upstairs.
Having the on-site caretaker was wonderful - he was so thorough in cleaning the deck and raking the beach each morning that it felt like a new house every day. He even offered to cut a fresh coconut off the trees for our boys to try coconut water - so sweet!
We had the misfortune of visiting when the sea grass was apparently at an all-time high, which pretty much rendered the beach unusable. However, a couple of days we kayaked out past the seaweed and enjoyed the ocean (it's shallow for a long ways out, so even our 9 year olds could stand when we were ~50 ft. out from shore), and a few days we walked up the beach to the resorts that had cleared the seaweed away. We are big beach people and were disappointed at first, but found that the house, pool, and local activities were so wonderful that we still had an amazing trip. If the beach had been perfect, I'm not sure Carole could have convinced us to leave! ;)
Puerto Morales is an adorable little town with lots of cute restaurants and a fun vibe. On Friday night they do a dance party in the main square (think public Zumba class for the local women) with vendors set up around the edges. Most other nights there were kids playing soccer in the square. We fell in love with the town!
Carole is very responsive and provided wonderful information prior to the trip so we knew how to best plan and prepare. We rented a car out of Cancun and found it to be very useful. Our outings included snorkeling, swimming with whale sharks, and visiting Chichen Itza.
You can walk the white sand beaches for miles, with the ocean in front being a protected reef, which is famous for its snorkelling. This is the second largest coral reef in the world, and is only 500 meters away from Palazzo Paradiso. The charming laid-back fishing village of Puerto Morelos is a 12 minute drive away and has lots of inexpensive restaurants and usually live music. Crococun wildlife zoo is at the end of the road and is great for kids (big and small.) We have a quiet beach with palapas and hammocks for you to enjoy. Riviera Maya is full of attractions and things to do including famous Mayan ruins, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Cenotes, swimming with dolphins, zip-lining, underwater rivers, theme parks etc. etc. Cancun and Playa del Carmen are both 30 minutes away.
