As a Texas Real Estate Broker, we created this beautiful second home for our family several years ago. We live in Houston and have visited Galveston since we were kids.
Jon Lanclos purchased this house in 2011
This property is truly unique. It was remodeled extensively after Hurricane Ike. We fell in love with the amenities of Sea Isle subdivision and decided this is where we want to own property. This property is one canal back from Galveston Bay and is situated perfectly in the subdivision. When there are whitecaps on the Bay, you can still swim just fine in the canal. Being on the Bay, we do not get pounded by the Gulf winds. We are one canal back from the Bay so the water cycles fresh due to the tides. You are only blocks from the private Sea Isle beach and also have the use of the Tennis Courts, Neighborhood Pool, Fishing Pier and Kids Playground.
The amenities of this home are almost too many to name, but I will try. Canal deck over the water, Gold Cart, Horseshoe Pit, Hammock Swings, Front Porch Decks, Downstairs Tiki Bar, Ring Toss Game, Fishing off Deck, French Doors off Upper Decks, Flat Screen TV's, Cable Television, WIFI internet, Ceiling Fans, Sky Deck overlooking Galveston Bay and sunsets, Bay and Canal views on every level
The home looks exactly as the pictures depict. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean, neat and organized everything was. It looked as if an interior decorator had just recently visited the home. All of the appliances were in pristine condition and the ac was a godsend during the heat of the long summer days.
The kids enjoyed feeding the seagulls and fish from the balconies and being able to use the Bayhouse fishing gear to catch catfish, perch, speckled trout and blue crab. We were thankful for the use of the golf cart which we took to the beach almost everyday! We will definitely tell others about your home.
One suggestion would be to place blinds or curtains in the downstairs bunk rooms and the master bathroom. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
My family and I absolutely enjoyed every moment during our stay at this property from the day we entered the gate to the day we left. The property was extremely well manicured, clean, and convenient for all the beach/bay activities that we were interested in. The boat slip was perfect for my boat with the location being a quick access to the bay and to West End Marina. The interior was spotless at all three levels and each deck had awesome views. We would definitely consider staying here again in the future.
When we arrived and opened the door, we were greeted with a beautiful entrance. From the second we walked in we were all so surprised and happy with everything in the home. It was clean, beautifully decorated and something for everyone to see and do. We had our grandkids ages 6-9 (all boys) and they were so excited with everything they could play with and then fishing right off the pier was the best.
Thank you to the owners for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home for our family 4th of July trip.
Went to this nice home for a weekend stay with my husband, kids and some extended family. Our main purpose was to fish and spend time together. We were able to fish right off the dock in the canal. Didn't catch anything too big, but still fun for the kids. Also fished at a nearby spot on the Island, but never had a chance to fish off the neighborhood pier. The home was beautifully furnished and all the beds were comfortable. The kids liked the bunk beds and the upstairs game room. The living area was a little small for our entire group, but we managed around that. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed for cooking. I will say to bring your own bath soap as we thought that would be supplied and had to make a run to the store for it. The neighborhood is friendly and has a nice restaurant which we enjoyed one day for lunch. The little store and bait shop had all we needed for our stay. We took the kids to the beach one day which is across the highway. Easy access to beach once you drive and park across the street from the neighborhood. All in all, a great time and no problems communicating with the owners!
This vacation spot made for the perfect family vacation. We were right on the water, beautiful views from every angle. Beautifully decorated. Would recommend this place to any and everybody.
