About Vacasa, OR - Mt Hood / Hood River Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great getaway house!

 • 4 of 5

We enjoyed this home so much. Great hangout place. Lots of windows, back yard was like a beautiful campsite! Enjoyed the hottub!! Updated kitchen and bathrooms were wonderful! Comfy couch and nice dining room table set. Enjoyed making fires in the family room fireplace.

The reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of one of the beds. If we had any complaints at all it would be about the 3rd bedroom bed. House stated that it ‘Sleeos 7 adults comfortably’. The first 2 queen beds and the twin bed were great! The queen bed pull out couch in the 3rd bedroom was horribly uncomfortable. We had to pile up blankets to help pad it better. Needs a better mattress or just switch to a bed instead.

We loved the updated appliances as well. Overall it was a wonderful place to stay! Thank you very much! 😀?

House is beautiful - Vacasa falls short

 • 4 of 5

The home is a picturesque cabin in a great location. Although we loved the house itself, Vacasa fell short in providing a clean house with basic necessities (i.e. heat) which put a damper on our stay. They don't give you a contact that is "on-call" - which we could have used for our issue with the heating the first day and a half.

When we arrived at the home the temperature was close to 50 degrees; the heating throughout the home was insufficient and the unit was unable to heat the home until late the second day. The one fire we could get started did not even come close to heating the house. This was a very big issue, as my 86 year old grandmother joined us for the trip with a slight cold which inevitably became worse with the lack of heat in the house. It was confusing to me that the heat was off considering we were told we could not check in early because the house was being "cleaned", which tells me that there had been recent guests ( plus the Vacasa calendar showed that someone had been staying at the home the day before). Why leave the house completely unheated...doesn't it cost more to reheat a home than to keep its' current temperature for a day or two?

There are some items that need replaced, especially since they presented these amenities in the listing....
- The dishwasher was broken and there were four tabs (from previous attempts) still in the basin of the dishwasher - so we had to re-wash all of the dishes we used because we assumed that all of the dishes we "presumed clean" and put away.
-The fireplace has a broken grate which makes it very difficult to light a fire and we were not able to maintain a fire in the wood stove in the kitchen area.
-The rugs throughout the home need replaced. Some were okay, but most just slid around the floors and were quite dangerous (we removed several during our stay).

Most unfortunate was how unclean the house was considering it had supposedly been cleaned that day (preventing us from early check in). The bedding needs to be changed in the den (sofa sleeper) and the loft needs to be checked (some sort of white substance on the sleeper). The entire house needs swept, coffee table cleaned, kitchen stove and refrigerator cleaned, etc. This home is so beautiful but it puts a damper on spending $$$$ at the holidays to stay in a home that wasn't cleaned (nor were there cleaning products available).

In my opinion Vacasa needs to take a look at who their customers are and should do a better job at providing a clean, safe, heated (at least above 60 degrees) home to the customers who pay a lot of money to stay.
