This home was so perfect for our family vacation. We have three young adult children and there was room enough for everyone to sleep comfortably and relax after fun-filled days . The home was much larger than we thought with three dull bathrooms! And the beds and bedding was super comfy and clean. The house was in a great location making it easy to get to the city or to the beach. The only thing I would suggest to the owner is to repaint the hallways and basement, but that wasn't a big deal. We had s great time and the funky layout of the house was fun for us. We would definitely stay here again!
My family of five along with my parents stayed here for 3 nights in July. It was close to public transportation and to a grocery store. The house worked out well for us. It was quirky which is fun in its own way. We would stay here again.
We stayed in this house for a week with our family and found it conveniently located in a quiet, residential neighborhood in the Sunset area of San Francisco. There are plenty of good things to say about the house: it's spacious, it has off-street parking (and there is plenty of on-street parking available), it has generally everything we needed to get buy for a week, there is great water pressure for the showers, and the beds were relatively comfortable.
As for it being "newly remodeled," that is hard to believe. All of the walls look like used dorm rooms which need to be painted. The second bedroom on the first floor has a stand alone closet about 18 inches wide that is very unstable, and the adjoining bathroom seems to have been designed for a child. It is very small, very uncomfortable and the laminate is falling off the cabinet doors (it appeared to have been that way for a long time as there was putty used to keep reapply it many times).
The price was reasonable for the location and the run down condition of many things. It would also help if there were some instructions left regarding different things in the house and information about the neighborhood (where to find a grocery store, pharmacy, breakfast location, etc.). Fortunately, we have family that lives in Sunset who were able to provide us with guidance.
STAIRS: The house has a long staircase to enter the front door so it is not conducive for anyone who would have a problem with stairs.
GROUND FLOOR BEDROOM: The ground floor bedroom is more like a suite with a bathroom, kitchenette and dining table. It was great for our two teens.
GARDENS: There is a courtyard area/gardens but renters cannot access them. The door is locked.
KITCHEN: The kitchen is tiny and not conducive for more than one person at a time.
LIVING ROOM / DINING ROOM: The living room and dining room are the best two rooms in the house. They are spacious and comfortable.
All in all, we had a very nice visit to San Francisco and we feel that we got what we paid for in this property.
Super house; would use again. Good for groups or family. Thanks for everything.
The property itself is in a great location, you can look down at the corner and see the ocean. Shops, cafes, supermarket, public transport are all just blocks away.
The house is large and each of the 3 bedrooms has its own bath. Maybe it is normal for San Francisco houses but the layout was awkward. The house needed some updates - like a better door on the master bathroom that was sound-proof and so you can't see the light from the skylight!
It was mostly clean overall, although we were searching for an outlet and behind the couch was not. It had some other shortcomings like no potholders, or bath mats, and could only find one sharp knife.
There were plenty of towels, and some staples in place - bits of sugar and spices and water (which we replaced when we got to grocery store) that wre nice to find on hand. Also left us a nice bottle of wine!
This is the space and location we needed for this trip.
We enjoyed our stay. The house was clean if a bit quirky. The kitchen was large with new major appliances, very nice. However it had few tools, a mismatch that doesn't do justice to such a spacious and well equiped space otherwise. The cupboard door that leads to an unexpected place was the talk of the stay and a fun talking point. Sorry we didn't take a picture of it.
The living room is very spacious and comfortable. The TV is minute and very far from the couch. Might benefit from some furniture rearrangement. The dining room was big and allowed for comfortable hanging out. The basement room is like a separate apartment. Both heat and airconditioning worked perfectly.
The location is close to the surfing beach whith beautiful walking paths along the shore, a bit hit with our family members. We found several good restaurants in the area. It was close to public transportation which came in handy.
I would recommend this house if you like a clean, colorful and interestingly layed out house in an excellent location.
