About Elizabeth

Third generation owner of this historic, classic Cape property. The cottage was once my grandfather's art studio, and many of the repeat renters come to Truro for inspiration.

Elizabeth purchased this cottage in 2016

Why Elizabeth chose Truro

Truro is a unique blend of peace and recreation. The quiet, even in summer, just melts the stress away. Yet we are only minutes from Wellfleet or the excitement of Provincetown. We are also on the Hopper tour, as ours was one of the homes he painted (Locust Trees http://accessaddison.andover.edu). Edward and Josephine Hopper used to play cards in the main home with my grandparents.

What makes this cottage unique

The tranquil outdoor spaces, simple but well stocked interior, and historic setting make this an ideal retreat - all within a short walk to bay beaches.

Fabulous Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved the setting, the outdoor shower, and the well equipped space. It was great place to stay and the owner was thorough and thoughtful in her instructions about all the details. It was also quite clean and very quiet. We would stay there again in a minute.

A small cottage with a lot of soul.

  • 5 of 5

It is truly a place of calm and beauty. The paintings and the shelves filled with art books give this place a lot of charm and character.

Also the cottage is very clean and very well equipped, cozy and comfortable for two people and the bed on the mezzanine is really an amazing idea.

Everything is clearly explained and documented. Elizabeth is a welcoming and caring host, providing all information needed.

I rented various places in Truro for years and this is definitely my favorite cottage. I look forward to next year.

Merci beaucoup Elizabeth!

Quaint, quiet, everything quintessential

  • 5 of 5

This once upon a time artist studio has been minimally updated to allow for a single or a couple (and purely theoretically 2 more people) to enjoy the ambiance of Cape Cod creativity. With the beach a comfortable walk/jog away, Wellfleet a 4 mile bike ride distant, and the Outer Cape all very day-trip-able, this is a perfect location for a week of R & R, whatever that means for you. Elizabeth is a caring, and helpful host, though she wasn't present for our stay. Everything is documented or labeled, and unlike any of the other VRBO's we've stayed at, linens and towels, plus a huge array of vacation infrastructure were part of the package. Thank you for a great week!

Owner's Response: Excellent - I'm so glad that everything met your needs. We strive to provide both charm and a carefree stay. So happy that you found the location as well situated as I do - and hope you got to spend some time at the beach with actual sunny weather (that I can't control, sadly).

Solitude and Charm.

  • 5 of 5

A great getaway in a remarkable location. The cottage was cozy, well equipped, and comfortable. The artsy decor made everything just right. Near the beach, it also had a mountain feel to it. The entire property is a work of art. The main house (built in the 1800's) is absolutely gorgeous. Elizabeth is a great hostess, very gracious, and thinks of everything. The building itself is beautifully constructed and maintained. Awesome place. Thanks. HCH & DMH

Owner's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you liked it, we've always thought its unique and historic construction made it special - and of course relish the peace and quiet. We hope you enjoyed your stay despite the less than stellar weather.
