About Lee Linhart

My wife, Laura and I are natives of Hendersonville and have always known what a truly special place in which we live. We enjoy sharing our cottages so others may experience the wonderful place we call home.

Lee Linhart purchased this bungalow in 2016

Why Lee Linhart chose Hendersonville

We had admired this home for many years and noticed that the owners had moved and allowed the property to decline. Always up for a remodeling challenge, we accepted the daunting task to refurbish the home and gave it a brand new beginning.

What makes this bungalow unique

We are located only minutes away from the Historic Downtown Hendersonville home of the NC Apple Festival, The Village of Flat Rock which is home to Connemara -The Carl Sandburg National Historic Site and The Flat Rock Playhouse - The State Theatre of NC, Saluda NC - home of the annual Coon Dog Day Festival, Tryon - home of the Steeple Chase and the ever popular Blue Ridge Bar-B-Que Festival, Brevard - home of the Brevard Music Center, waterfalls galore & the annual White Squirrel Festival, Asheville, our sister to the north, is world famous for the Biltmore Estate, Grove Park Inn & Belle Chere Festival.

Other Activities: Bird Watching, Water Tubing, Snow Tubing

Convenient and clean

  • 5 of 5

Easy and super convenient to Hendersonville's historic downtown. The apartment itself is above a real estate company/property management firm (I think), but we didn't really see anyone since we were there during the weekend, and out during the day during the week.

All new inside

  • 5 of 5

First the positives: location is really close to downtown. It's obvious that everything inside is new and nobody spared the expense- the kitchen appliances, the washer and dryer, all new and better than ours at home! The office staff? A 10! Booking was easy and folks were friendly. In fact, my wife forgot her Kindle. No problem! It was mailed back fast.

The very old doors reminded me of my grandma's house...and that's a good thing. TVs were first rate. The shower was huge and we just can't say enough about how first-class everything was.

Negative? If really pressed I would say I'm not a fan of skylights. The weather was super hot last week so the sun pounded through the bathroom.

This apartment is upstairs, be advised. Occasionally we could hear some street sounds, but not too bad.

Plenty of linens, pots and pans, a coffee maker, silverware, etc.

This place is spotless. For cleanliness I mean perfect.

The dinette was a bit curious in that it was in a hall with a slightly slanted floor. (We only had breakfast in.) Coffee was better in front of the tv anyway.

Beautiful and cozy bungalow!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying here. It was convenient to Asheville as well as great hiking areas. You do share the space with the rental office (they are downstairs and you are upstairs) but it seems to work just fine. The house is beautifully renovated and is within walking distance to great shops, dining and breweries. We loved Sanctuary Brewing and the Appalachian Coffee Company! We'll definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay!

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

Loved the place, awesome people, will be back.

Incredible value for the money compared to a hotel.

Keep in mind that the downstairs is an office, but privacy is maintained as the rental is entirely upstairs, and the staff are very nice.

Everything needed is included and all is as described.

This may be the best place I have ever had the pleasure of staying at, I truly felt at home here.

So pristine clean and orderly and fresh, I thought we were the first to stay there.

  • 5 of 5

Loved being able to walk to Main Street in a few minutes (3 short blocks). Beds and linens top quality. Spacious walkin shower.

Suggestions: Head Bump warning for us 6+ footers in kitchen and going down stairs. An added cabinet to left of washer/dryer and moving W/D out from wall 3" would do it in kitchen.

Place lockbox accessible to us old guys (71) so we don't have to get on knees to open.

BTW, Wendy, and others were fountains of friendliness and info.

Definitely would rent again.
