My stay here was very nice! The amenities were beyond my expectations! If and when I return to Yellowstone for another visit, I will remember White Buffalo Lodging and the Pine Cone Cabin first! Thank you so much for everything and all the fine dedication to detail in the lodging business!
I cannot say enough what wonderful hosts Geoff and Billie were during our stay and what an amazing time we had in this area. Upon arrival (and even before) Geoff was quick to respond to our questions and greeted us upon arrival. Due to it being the off-season, we received some extra amenities at no additional charge. Geoff provided us maps and information on the area/cabin, and even gave us bear spray (and a tutorial on how to use it) to take with us on the hikes=) Geoff and Billie checked in on us throughout the week to ensure we had all our needs met and questions answered.
The cabin was exactly what we hoped for in the area-cozy, quiet, and a comfy place to sleep and make dinner. It was also nicely decorated and included plenty of blankets (my husband and I like different room temperatures=)). We enjoyed the downtime in the cabin after a long day of hiking. We also went to a few restaurants in the area-I would recommend Wild West Pizzeria and Madison Crossing. In terms of Yellowstone-it was GORGEOUS! Amazing scenery, hikes, and people we met along the way. West Yellowstone was a great base to explore the whole park. Since it was the start of off-season, there was very little traffic and we had most hikes to ourselves! We also did our own day trip down to the Tetons which offered amazing scenery and hiking.
Thank you Geoff and Billie for providing us with a very comfy home base for the week while we hiked in Yellowstone and Tetons! I was sad to leave and hope we are able to come back one day! I absolutely loved the area and am so grateful for such wonderful hosts!
Billie and Geoff's properties are all well kept, well appointed, and decorated in a western theme which is really appealing. Everything was first class and coffee, tea, and all necessary things for cooking were provided. It was a perfect location , just outside the West Gate to Yellowstone.
The bedding was top quality and so comfortable. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. They also own a coffee shop and provided free coffee an ice cream for renters, which was a treat. We had a wonder experience staying there.
We enjoyed our stay at The Pine Cone Cabin. As others have noted, the bathroom is tiny and is not separate from the bedroom. Two of us were comfortable there, but I think it would be a tough space for three people to share. The sofa only seats two and the main living space includes both the kitchen and the living room. The cabin was immaculately clean and well equipped, and Billie and Geoff were amazing hosts. We use VRBO often and usually don't get to meet our hosts face to face. We called Geoff when we arrived and he was there within a few minutes to provide us with a thorough orientation to the cabin and the area. He clearly has a passion for the Yellowstone area and it shows. We also visited Billie's coffee shop several times. She couldn't have been more gracious. Excellent coffee, breakfast burritos and banana bread. (Ice cream was tasty, too!) We would stay here again.
We had a great experience with Billie and Geoff Richards. They are very accommodating. We stayed in the Copper House, and it was outstanding!
Thanks Billie and Geoff!
This was a wonderful small get away for two. Great location to get to Yellowstone on a daily basis. We were able to cover the whole park in five days. Billie and Geoff were great host with good references for local eateries and attractions as well as free coffee and ice cream. We would love to return!
Although bedding with one folding cot is available for 3 people - preferably 2 adults and 1 child, it is tight for 3 and probably should best be advertised only for 2 people. The toilet area of the bathroom, which is located in the one bedroom, is "unique" - too small for a person of average size to close the door. Location of the unit in the small town of West Yellowstone is great. West Yellowstone itself is located immediately outside the west entrance into Yellowstone National Park - great place to stay and much more affordable than in the park. Hosts were very accommodating during our stay and did all they could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Complimentary coffee and ice cream at their shop in town was most appreciated. Overall, a great experience!
The Pine Cone Cabin is located in the heart of West Yellowstone Montana. We are just blocks from the west gate of Yellowstone National Park.
