About JoDee Burton or Hughes Burton

We both are in love with the Fancy Gap slow pace and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. This is an incredible place to visit or live, with the Blue Ridge Parkway within sight.

JoDee Burton or Hughes Burton purchased this cabin in 2012

Why JoDee Burton or Hughes Burton chose Blue Ridge Highlands

We love fishing, golf, riding our motorcycles on the BRPW. This area just slows your heart rate down! The trout fishing is great, with stocked creeks and rivers nearby. The weather is incredible with a constant breeze and your not fighting the insects while doing outdoor activities.

What makes this cabin unique

The Blue Ridge Parkway is within sight of the cabins and the peacefulness has no comparison. We do have motorcycle parking, and within a mile of our cabins is a new Restaurant and Bar, 'Raps', with the biker in mind, special parking, motorcycle rides and events.

Beautiful, unique cabin

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed at "It's Time to Unwine" for our 45th wedding anniversary. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The cabin was beautiful and well kept. I enjoyed the bird houses and the front porch swing each day. I can't describe in words the different views I had of the local area looking at the reflections in the pond in our front yard. I took numerous pictures and nearly all of them had the pond reflection. There's a beauty that surrounds this property each morning at sunrise and each evening at sunset. We had a rabbit, chipmunk, a variety of birds, deer water foul to look at during our stay. Jodee and her husband worked extra hard to make sure everything was acceptable for us when we checked in and during our stay. I highly recommend this property or the adjoining property next door also owned by them. Thank you Jodee for a beautiful week and our stay at "It's Time to Unwine". Thank you for answering all of my pre-questions before coming to Volunteer Gap and thank you for the dinner referral. My wife and I enjoyed our anniversary dinner and the surroundings at the recommended location. You were great in every way. We'll be back to celebrate another anniversary. You truly are five star!

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

Just left from a weekend stay at the cabin. It was one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed. The pictures don't do it justice. We celebrated my mother in laws 50th birthday. The kids loved the loft and the fishing and of course the fire pit was a big hit! Thank you so much for such an amazing stay. Jodee was always so very helpful and contacting us back so quickly! We will for sure be coming back.

Weekend in paradise

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to the cabins and it was as wonderful as the first! It's peaceful and relaxing, with beautiful views of the sunrise from the amazing front porch in the morning, the serenade of frogs in the evening, and quiet conversation around the fire pit at night. The cabin is immaculate, well stocked and comfortable. We had 4 adults, a toddler and 3 dogs and everyone was comfortable and happy. The owners are very attentive to any needs that might arise. Highly recommended. Can't wait to return!

Perfect honeymoon spot!!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have picked a better cabin for our honeymoon! We were greeted with a nice message on the door from the owners which made us feel so special. The view was simply amazing and the pond was a bonus as we both love to fish. The cabin was well stocked and furnished, especially the bedding, so comfortable. We brought along our two small dogs and they enjoyed watching the birds and taking early morning walks. We are already talking about our next visit.

A little slice of Heaven fo a weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was just Perfect. Cozy, well maintained. The atmosphere and decor were stunning. A simple greeting on the door way when we arrived set the tone for a wonderful stay. The sunrise in the mornings was fantastic as we watched from the deck. I highly recommend it to couples or families. The absolute best weekend ever.

This is a convenient short drive from the triad area of N.C. and the views/outdoor activities are phenomenal. Hiking, biking, relaxing, and enjoying the 'quiet.' Numerous wineries, cherry, apple orchards, peach orchards, and quaint shops; your blood pressure lowers as your driving up the mountain to reach your destination. Mt. Airy, best known as 'Mayberry', is a 15 minute drive down Orchard Gap rd which takes you right into downtown. Visit the museum, have a Snappys Porkchop sandwich and please visit Floyds Barbershop!

The hiking is phenomenal near the cabin with views, caves, water falls and cliffs. There is horseback riding on New River Trail at Foster Falls. Take a picnic lunch, ride the trail on horseback or your bike, and then go down the falls in a kayak or canoe. The fishing is great for walleye, musky and small mouth bass, along with the trout stocked streams and creeks in the area as well.
