One short block from Deadwood’s historical Main Street and numerous historical and entertainment venues.
This property is located on the slope of Mount Roosevelt overlooking Deadwood’s Historic Main Street, just one block west of the distinguished Franklin Hotel. From the large yard on the east side, one can enjoy the outdoor lounging and play area with an outstanding view of White Rocks, Mount Moriah and other famous landmarks. To the south, east and north,
The panoramic view encompasses notorious Old Main, in its entirety a National Historic Landmark, portions of Homestake gold mine, and the only Carnegie Library in South Dakota still being used for its original function. Sleeps 9, 4 bedroom, 3 bath, reasonable rates!
I grew up in eastern South Dakota and often vacationed in the Black Hills. Many of my friends have since settled here.
David Bosch purchased this house in 2001
This is my retirement home. I come here several times a year to upgrade the property and just to share the relaxed atmosphere with family, friends and neighbors.
I always enjoy the quiet tranquility of this hillside setting, watching the wild turkeys on the deck and the deer who come down the mountain to get crabapples. And yet it is only one block from Main Street with access to all the attractions of downtown Deadwood. Very handy to be walking distance to town and avoid the hassles of finding a parking space! Close to skiing and snowmobiling. Makes a great setting for your next family gathering, business retreat or wedding reception!
This place was great!!!! I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to be close to downtown. Perfect for a group of people!
Everything about our stay was top notch from planning to cleanliness and overall experience. A true getaway in a prime location convenient to all Black Hills activities and landmarks.
The entire cabin was great!!! It is very well taken care of. The bedrooms are all nice and it's great having a bathroom on every floor!! The views on the deck are amazing and it's nice to be so close to downtown!!! I would recommend this to anyone!!!
One of the pictures online shows 6 twins and also states it in the caption. However, there are only 4 and the top bunks are not sturdy. We did not even trust a suitcase up on them.
Also, the basement bedroom is not finished, so I don't consider that to be an acceptable "bedroom" for people to stay in.
Additionally, the only entrance to use for this property is at the very top of several flights of stairs, so it would not be a good option if that is an issue for you.
Other than these concerns, we loved the great location of the cabin and could easily walk to many things and not need to take the shuttle. We also loved the open kitchen, it was a great place for socializing. I also found the owner to be a very easy person to rent through, despite the cleaning list.
