Home from Home, lovely hosts and wonderful surroundings.
Paul and Susan are lovely hosts, including Zac the dog and lily the cat. Every need is catered for and the house is well equipped and so cosy. Spring was late arriving so we made good use of the beautiful fireplace and wood burner. Great places to sit outside and look at the views. The house is close to the beautiful Collanges la Rouge where Susan has a boutique, well worth a visit but it does get really busy during the summer. There are so many beautiful villages and scenic places to visit from here. We had a wonderful holiday here.
Thank you both so much for taking the time to post a review. We were very happy to meet you and we thank you for your kind words.

A charming gite in an elevated situation amidst stunning countryside. The interior was tastefully furnished with attention to detail and comfort. There were many little extras to make your holiday a happy stay. Although the owners lived below/adjacent they were very respectful of your privacy and had an independent entrance. However, they were a delightful couple and very willing to help with any queries about the region. We would highly recommend this property.
Fantastic loved house and hosts, thank you so much
Very enjoyable hope to return soon, brilliant hosts and loved you doggy
Thank you so much for your kind words and we look forward to you coming again in the future.
Best wishes - Susan and Paul
Excellent accommodation in great location
A very comfortable and well-equipped Gite in an excellent quiet location convenient to some of the most beautiful locations in the Correze. The house is on a ridge with fabulous views in all directions. The owners are very helpful and cheerful hosts. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your great response.
Perfect shared property
This property was totally refinished and looks like it was done yesterday. Everything is really in a perfect condition. You really have total privacy - basically like you have own place. All the amenities you could ask for, great fireplace and the couple is extremely nice, helpful and welcoming. Beautiful rural surroundings, of course, and a very nice 2nd floor terrace to enjoy the sunset and the view.
A perfect stay in beautiful countryside!
La Marguerite offers an ideal base to explore the surrounding countryside, from quiet walks right at your door through rolling hills and tiny hamlets; to beautiful villages and historic chateaux, many conveniently close by. In a week we visited and recommend Beaulieu and Meyssac and their markets, Collogne la Rouges, Chateau Turenne, Rocamadour, and Chateau Castelnau Bretenoux – most within a half hour drive. And a personal favourite is the picturesque village of Curemont, just 2km from the door.
Each day it is a pleasure to return to the snug, well-appointed cottage, with all the comforts of home, enjoy a meal made in the well-stocked kitchen and choose from a range of books and videos. Paul and Suaan were most welcoming, and Paul happily supplied us with bikes – a very pleasurable way to explore the countryside – they are unobtrusive but always helpful, the perfect hosts and cottage!
Set in a small hamlet of natural beauty, close to 2 of the 'most beautiful villages' in France; firstly the ancient medieval village of Curemont (2km), boasting 3 chateaux & churches and a seasonal weekly evening market. Secondly Collonges La Rouge (10km), which has 16th Century redstone architecture, a myriad of artisan boutiques. Both have reasonably priced restaurants/bars/cafes. The nearest town of Meyssac (8km) has 2 supermarkets & a twice weekly street market, selling local delights such as foie gras, magret & cuisse de canard. The lively town of Brive (28km) is well worth a visit. The surrounding countryside is rich with vineyards, walnut groves & orchards. The river Dordogne flows through the pretty character town of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (15km) where you can take a river trip on traditional flat-bottomed boats 'gabares'. The river continues it's journey through the Dordogne Valley, which has a wealth of picturesque & dynamic villages such as Martel, Rocamadour, Domme & Sarlat. Other Activities: Seasonal food related fetes and festivals. Large swimming pool in Meyssac. Canoeing/kayaking, lakeside beaches
