Nicely furnished house with a great central location on the island, close to the beach, the airport, the main hotels.
My husband and 2 children just returned from a lovely stay at the Cotton House villa. The location is second to none for a villa in St. Jean, just up the hill from the shops and the most fabulous beach on the island. The staff was very attentive and accomodating. The house itself is quirky, but very special, filled with many treasures and antiques. While it may not be everyone's personal taste, and could use repairs ( broken and loose spindles on the staircase, unsafe fencing)and renovations, we found it enchanting. It is not a good choice for those with disabilities or physical limitations, as the house in on a hill. With our children, we were concerned about safety, and we were extra vigilant. However, we were overall very pleased with the house, and would definitely return. I would have given 5 stars if there was more attention paid to repairs and safety.
We have just returned from a great week at the Cotton House. A beautiful home with endless charm. The
furnishing were amazing and the home was very spacious feeling all the doors open to the large decking
around the home. The pool was a perfect temperature. The views from the bedrooms were stunning as they
overlook St. Jean and Eden Rock. We took advantage of the close proximity to St. Jean to walk in to Nikki
Beach and the shops directly below the villa. The staff was great, everything was taken care of and we enjoyed
the champagne waiting for us! I would recommend Cotton House for a wonderful relaxing stay in St. Barth's.
The location and views for this villa are likely the best on the island. We really enjoyed walking down the hill to St. Jean for shopping and dining. It also was centrally located for driving to other parts of the island. The pool was wonderful to enjoy throughout the week. Similar to other reviews, the home could be updated. We had issues with water pressure and hot water, and most (though not all) were resolved. Wifi did not work for nearly the entire week. If you require wifi access, you should confirm in advance of your stay that it is working. Even though we reported issues on our 2nd day, the owner didn't show up until the day before we left, almost a week later, to confirm we had an outage.
We had a wonderful time in this villa in St Barth. St Jean bay offers lots of things, shops, Nikki beach, bars, small reaturants. You can do what you want in few minutes by foot. The service of Missimmo staff was really outstanding from the beginning to the end. We had some problems with mosquitos and the day after they arranged a pest control company. Everything was as photos and comments in internet. My suggestion to get the five stars rate is to invite the owner to renew the interiors of the villa. Part of them is too old and obsolete.
I have travelled to the island many times since the 1970s and always hope to return soon.
On this trip, I returned with my wife (her 2nd trip to SBH) and our 8/9 y.o. sons (first trip). We found this villa to be a wonderful accommodation for the family. The large hillside lot is VERY conveniently located near St Jean beach. This allows an easy walk to restaurants and shops as well.
The villa is large and of a vintage that reminds me of my early trips to the island (except this villa has air conditioning!). We enjoyed the patio and pool and occasionally prepared our own meals in the ample kitchen. The views (especially from the upper deck) were terrific!
I would certainly recommend this villa to others, although it did have some shortcomings due to its age. For instance, mildew was present in certain areas of the house, and some fixtures / furniture / appliances / kitchen utensils needed of repair or replacement.
All said, I would return here and others would likely enjoy this unique property.
