Hamilton Cottage is a cornerstone cottage in the award winning Coast Cottages beach front neighborhood. Located at the entrance to brick-paved Coast Cottage Lane, Hamilton has been completely renovated from top to bottom with all new paint, appliances and designer furnishings. Prior to 2013, Hamilton was never rented.
This spectacular example of neo-traditional architecture is only a 3 minute walk from Coast Cottages' fabulous pools, pavilion and boardwalk overlooking St. Simons' widest stretch of beach.
Hamilton sleeps 9 in luxurious splendor with all new high end matresses and 400 thread count sheets. Bedroom 1 is like a small master with King bed and ensuite bath ... perfect for older family members who want to limit stair climbing. Bedroom 2 is ideal for the children with a sturdy double over double bunk bed set. The room also has a lovely Jenny Lind baby crib and glassed-in sun room for game time or reading. The attached full bath has a new travertine tiled tub/shower. These two first floor bedrooms are connected by a comfortable sitting area with 40' flat screen HDTV, DVD player and built-in cabinets full of books, games and movies. A great gathering area for young and old alike!
Bedroom 3 is superbly finished with beadboard paneled walls and ceilings, exposed beams, a beautiful queen bed, and an adorable paneled bath with vintage-style fixtures and glass door shower. You even get a glimpse of the ocean from one of the bedroom windows! Bedroom 4 is the true master, with a sumtuous king bed, double vanity bath with glass shower, and a mahogany armoire with 32' flat panel HDTV. There's even a step out balcony with views of a protected marshland and the 1936 Historic Coast Guard Station. Bedrooms 3 and 4 are connected by a hallway on the third floor.
Your family will love gathering on the spacious second floor living area for meals, entertainment and 'catching up.' The living room features two oversized sofas, an easy chair and a spectacular 46' HDTV with DVD player. There's even a wireless internet system with apps for accessing your Netflix account. The kitchen is a gourmet chef's delight, complete with gas cooktop, all new stainless refrigerator, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a deep double sink. New granite counters and plenty of cabinets grace this generously equipped kitchen. You'll love serving meals in the adjacent dining area where you can seat 6 at a handmade, reclaimed barnwood plantation table and four more at the nearby granite breakfast bar. If you enjoy grilling burgers and steaks outdoors, we have a beautiful stainless gas grill at ground level for your exclusive use.
The second floor also has two breezy verandas where you can step outside with a good book on a slow, lazy afternoon. Chat with friends overlooking beautiful Coast Cottage Lane off the dining room balcony, or take in a view of the marsh and land trust preservation off the living room balcony.
You and your family wil enjoy full privileges at Coast Cottages' beach front pools and pavilion. The neighborhood sits front and center on St. Simons Island's magnificent Coast Guard beach, the widest stretch of sand on the island. This is a place where you can walk the beach at high tide, low tide, any tide! (Note: vacation rentals south of Arnold Road cannot make this claim.)

We've been vacationing on St Simons for over 30 years and Hamilton Cottage is now our absolute favorite place to stay! I can't even describe how beautiful the décor is, yet the house still feels so comfortable and is perfect for a family stay. We had 3 generations and the house worked perfectly for us. (We did bring baby gates for the stairs.) Since we had a couple of toddlers, we ended up eating in. The kitchen was so well equipped, better than my kitchen at home. There was plenty of space to escape (multiple porches and spacious bedrooms) for a little peace and quiet but the common areas accommodated our family togetherness time perfectly. We were sad to leave and immediately started looking at the calendar so we can book next year's visit to this beautiful cottage!
My husband and I along with another couple welcomed 2016 in this beautiful home. The house is so well stocked from linens to kitchen utensils. The decor is absolutely beyond words. We each could watch our own TV or enjoy the downstairs den for reading, very comfortable beds, and great hot showers. Just loved our time at the beach.
Very much enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and clean, updated and modern. We found out that this house like most of the coast cottages are not very child friendly/elderly friendly, because of the steep stairs. We took child gates, but really never felt like we could let our gaurd down with the little ones.
We had a very enjoyable week long stay at Hamilton Cottage. What a lovely home. This is the type home you walk into and are immediately impressed from the quality of the home to the decor.
This home is located in the Coast Cottages neighborhood where homes can sell for around $1 million. As such, the neighborhood is manicured. There are 2 pools near the ocean - 1 pool is heated. Plenty of lounge chairs around the pools as well.
We are a family of 5 and when we travel, we book homes through VRBO. Patrick Anderson is the property manager for this home and he and his office staff are great to deal with. He is available to provide you with his "local knowledge" of area restaurants, golf courses, etc.
A very nice feature of this home is access to beach chairs and beach toys located under the home in a locked area (for which you will have a key). The best part was a nice heavy duty pull cart to transport 5 beach chairs, toys, cooler, etc. to the beach.
We would most certainly consider renting this home again in the future.
We had a group of 7 moms and Hamilton Cottage was perfect for our long weekend stay. There was more than enough room for all with the 4 large bedrooms and separate baths. Everyone loved their accomodations. The kitchen was well equipped (even comes with 2 coffee makers & waffle maker). The beds...some did not want to even get out of bed because they were so comfortable. Even in late January the weather was perfect just to walk around in Redfern Village or Pier Village just to shop. We even ventured onto the beach for a walk. The manager, Patrick, did a drive by to check on us and made sure all was well. We loved Crabdaddy's (shrimp and grits are the best and bread pudding), Halyards, Brogens (burgers) and Mallery Street Cafe (breakfast)! We will be back!
We had a wonderful week staying at the Hamilton Cottage. This is a beautiful house which has been decorated immaculately and is very conveniently located near the best beach and some of the best restaurants on the Island. We had two of our sons and their families stay with us and there was plenty of room for all of us. Even though it was the first of October, the heated pool was great and the walks on the wide open beaches were just a huge playground for the children. We would highly recommend this Cottage for anyone that appreciates a beautifully decorated home, plenty of room and great cozy beds. Look forward to going again. Great Vacation. Thanks
St. Simons Island is sometimes described as a little piece of paradise. Scarcely known outside Georgia, it is quite possibly the best kept secret along the coastal Southeast. The island's majestic entrance over miles of unspoiled marshland was memorialized by Sidney Lanier in his poem The Marshes of Glynn. It's a place where an unpretentious low country meets the great ocean ... where huge tidal changes breathe life into the grassy expanse flourishing in wildlife. Somewhere in between you will discover the magic of St. Simons Island. Upon arrival, visitors are enveloped by a feeling of calm amidst ancient moss-draped oaks standing alongside glorious palms and tall southern pines. Many miles of bike paths connect a variety of shopping, eating, cultural and recreational areas within the island. There's always something fun and interesting to do. The beach at St. Simons Island is like no other. As the 7-foot tide shifts from high to low, it pulls the shoreline 1/2 mile out to sea uncovering a breathtaking system sandbars and shoals. Development is largely unseen along the north end of the beach where an abundant shrub forest has been protected and allowed to expand naturally. Acres of young dune fields nurture sensitive Sea Oats while thousands of shore birds migrate from one sand bar to the next with the receding tide. The owners and guests of Coast Cottages at St. Simons cherish their unrestricted view and enjoyment of this ecological wonderland.
