About Alex

Alex Zemianek is a full time Real Estate investor and vacation rental business owner in St Louis, MO. He went from searching couches at the age of 18 for enough change to split(yes I said split) a totinos pizza with his roommate, to later climbing the corporate latter for AT&T, leading 152 employees, a 4 state Region all while creating a 7- figure real estate empire on the side.

Even though Alex slipped off the wrong path at age 18, he was always an entrepreneur even at a young age. At a young age, Alex borrowed his parents lawn mower and went around to every neighbor in the neighborhood knocking door by door earning new business until enough $ was put aside to purchase a faster riding mower that could eventually speed up his production and profitability.

At age 20 Alex had the most devastating call of his life. A call that nobody ever wants to receive. His father had suffered from a sudden heart attack while at work, and it was at that devastating moment that the reality of life settled in and it forever changed his outlook on life. He then started taking this life more seriously and realized that life is too short, and even though his father had worked so hard his entire life to save for retirement, designed his dream home on a lake well known as the “Lake of the Ozarks”, unfortunately a higher power had a different plan and his life was taken at the age of 52 during the demolition and beginning of the lake home his father and mother had recently designed. Following his father’s passing, and with the support of the most incredible mother in the world, he decided to continue his father’s passion for real estate. After reading “Rich Dad Poor Dad” the light bulb lit and the real estate investing journey begun.

Why Alex chose Shaw

This is by far the latest and greatest vacation rentals STL has seen and JZ Properties has ever designed. We take pride in providing what other host don't such as a pack n play, crib, high chair, FULLY equipped kitchen, and a KID Friendly room. :)

What makes this condo unique

My wife and I take alot of pride into the details of what a family our group vacation home should be like, so we designed this home from day ONE with several hundred reviews and 4 years of experience and listening to our wonderful guest needs. So with that said, Every room has a ceiling fan, BOTH levels are zoned for their own AC's and their own furnace, so each floor has it's own thermostat control for extra comfort. Also, each bed has a 10" memory foam mattress, comfortable luxury sheets, and 4 pillows per bed. Lastly, we provide TWO 55" LED smart TV's with 100mg High speed WIFI , TWO off street parking spots and MUCH MUCH more :)

Great place to stay!

  • 4 of 5

We had 6 adults and 1 child (2 year old) and this was the perfect setup for us; everyone got their own space but we were still able to all hang out together -- much better than our original plan of getting 3 hotel rooms and probably ending up in one, small room to hang out! The neighborhood was fine, we didn't explore it that much but it was quiet for the most part. The house is modern, updated, and definitely aesthetically pleasing; you can tell the owner takes good care of the property. Loved the playroom, my son got into all the toys that were there and was in heaven the whole time! The crib was a nice touch, albeit kind of small; I suspect it's a mini crib, so if you have taller babies/toddlers you would definitely be better off using the pack-and-play or the pull out trundle bed that are also available for use! I did think it was funny that of all the bedrooms in the house, there wouldn't be a queen size bed in the room with the crib; Come on! Parents like to have some space to stretch out after a long day with kiddos! ;-) The high chair was convenient to have too, although having had the same exact one it's not the best; there's no way to adjust it, so your kid will be awkwardly reclined back the entire time they're eating. Provided you don't have a mess eater (lucky you), your kiddo would be much better off sitting in a regular chair or maybe at the small table/chairs in the playroom to eat. Living area was nice, the couch was comfortable and spacious, and the TV setup was easy to use/navigate. Kitchen was great, loved having all the typical household items available so we could cook! Dedicated parking spaces was awesome to have and we appreciated the water bottles in the fridge. The only real concern I had was that the floors, while pretty, seemed to be in need of some attention; we found pieces of wood randomly around the house (?). One person mentioned they had ripped their sock on a nail head that was poking up a bit on one of the floor boards, another person said that the molding piece in front of one of the bathrooms was not secure thus leaving more nails exposed (not good with kids running around). Minor cosmetic flaws aside, overall I would certainly stay here again if I were ever in town with a large group and would definitely recommend others to stay here as well!

Great house in a great neighborhood

  • 4 of 5

This is a lovely old house that has been updated nicely. The kitchen is large and with most everything we wanted for cooking meals. The neighborhood is great for cooking if that is what you want to do. Schnucks, Jay's International Grocery (amazing selection!!!) and Aldi's are all in walking distance or less than 10 minutes by car if you are getting heavy stuff. If you are more of a mind to just enjoy restaurants, the closest coffee shop, Fiddlehead Fern, is literally 2 houses away and delightful. We also had great calzones and beer birthday bash at Sauce on the Side at Tower Grove and Manchester. Of course we did not miss the just 2 block walk to amazing Shaw's Garden (aka Missouri Botanical Garden) which was having a winter wonderland display called Garden Glow, the best flower and light displays in town. The whole neighborhood plus the beautiful public park at the south end of Thurman St is called Shaw for this visionary fellow. The house's 4 bedrooms (10 double beds + a double trundle + a double air mattress) provided plenty of very comfortable sleeping - excellent memory foam mattresses plus very soft, comfortable cotton sheets and comforters. We slept very well. We did have a little trouble with the heating in the front bedroom - we stayed through days that reached 16F and nights that dipped down below 0F. The fellow who finally checked on the heater was also a little long winded but did get the water heat up for us. The front bedroom stayed colder. If you have a big group like we did, put your people who run hot in the front room and the cold folk towards the back of the house to keep everyone more comfortable.

Beautiful property in thriving neighborhood!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with students over their fall break; and had both units available for us. The town homes were clean, comfortable and everything we could have hoped for. Alex and his team were responsive to all questions; and we will definitely be referring these properties to others throughout the university.
