|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Guests at Fishermen's Hollow have been enjoying this destination for the past four years. As the start of year five begins, we are excited to share our cabin with you.
This riverfront property has been organized to allow for privacy and is a rental for one party. There are two cabins (seven feet apart) which are connected by covered decks and breezeway. The main cabin contains a full kitchen, 3/4 bath, great room concept with leather furniture and a large table for meals.
The bunkhouse has two bedrooms. The first bedroom is riverfront with a log queen size bed. The second bedroom is larger with two queen size beds and room to stow your gear.
Sit on the covered decks (winter or summer) and watch the river go by or build a campfire. Open the windows at night to listen to the river.
Towels and bedding is provided. The cabin is professionally cleaned after your stay. There is not an additional cleaning fee.
After searching for many years, my husband and I found this riverfront property. You would not recognize it today. It was one small building with a small deck. The building was sloping to one side. With the help of Bob from Forks, we steadied the original building and added the bunkhouse. Bob taught us a 'few additional skills' which allowed us to complete all of the finish work. The large window facing the river is only remaining original fixture in the cabin.
Personally, this cabin is an important place for us and our family. Our sons, daughter-in-laws, young grandchildren, and many friends have had memorable moments at Fishermen's Hollow.
Brenda purchased this cabin in 2004
This property provides privacy and easy access to the town of Forks. The decorations have been collected for many years providing a cozy environment.
The logic behind separating the bunkhouse from the main cabin was to allow the early risers the option to go to bed while the night-owls stay up! It works out well.
The covered decks (in front and back) have hooks to hang wet gear or bring fishing poles, etc., under cover.
During the summer months, the river warms up and is fun to tube. If you start from the cabin, you can get out at the Bogachiel River bridge and walk back to the cabin on Hwy 101.
The cabin is 7 miles from the Hoh Rain Forest turnoff on Hwy 101. By driving 30 minutes south or north, you can be at various Pacific Ocean beaches.
We loved this place! We stayed here the last 2 nights of our week long travels in Olympic National Park. It was so peaceful sitting on the covered porches listening to the river and the birds. A fabulous place to get away and relax and a good base for exploring this side of the peninsula. The mountains, the Hoh & Bogachiel rainforests and the ocean beaches are spectacular. We were a party of 6, ages 14-72, and everyone loved it. The first thing the teenagers said when they walked in was "this place smells so good". This cabin is adorable! We loved the large comfy couch & chair and the warm and cozy feeling you get from this cabin. The kitchen & bath have absolutely everything you need. The bedrooms have comfortable beds with clean, soft linens and good pillows, and each bedroom had it's own thermostat which was nice. Brenda and her family have a great little hide-away and I'm so glad they are willing to share it with others. Brenda is so friendly and easy to work with; we had to change our check-in date by one day and it was taken care of quickly and easily. I highly recommend Fisherman's Hollow! It would be perfect any time of year. We'll definitely stay here again! Thanks for sharing your cabin :)
My husband and I stayed at Fishermen's Hollow for 6 nights in late June. The cabin is very attractive and comfortable and is situated in a lovely spot on the Bogachiel River. The interior walls are a light-colored wood panelling, so it is not dark inside as in the website photos. The river is only about 100 feet away and you can see it out the bay window and hear the water flowing by. There is a small patch of woodland around the cabins with tall trees and lots of bird life. Kingfishers and swallows fly over the river. Another house is about 100 feet away on one side but the neighbor was quiet. Sometimes you can hear traffic on Rt. 101 which is about 1/4 mile away.
We had good weather for the Pacific Northwest: 2 rainy days (I of which we were travelling), 3 clear, sunny days, and 2 overcast days, 1 of which cleared in the afternoon. It was cool, with daytime temperatures in the 60s and low 70s. Very few biting insects this time of year and with the cool weather.
The cabin is well-located for exploring the western half of Olympic National Park - the rainforest, beaches, and the Sol Duc area. The Park was magnificent. We loved the huge trees and lush vegetation of the rainforest, the wild Pacific coast beaches, and the subalpine areas. We visited the Hoh Rainforest nature trails, the South Fork of the Hoh River (a remote, backcountry hike), Second, Rialto, and Ruby Beaches, hiked in to Sol Duc Falls and continued to Deer Lake. We saw Roosevelt elk, a black bear, 5 black-tailed deer, bald eagles, whales, and a seal. Wish we could have stayed another week!
Outside the park in the Forks area, there are many big clearcuts and recovering clearcuts, making us very grateful the park was established. Tip: groceries are expensive in Forks - get your groceries in Port Angeles on the way in. The food is good at Puffin on 101.
Thank you Brenda for allowing us to stay at your beautiful cabin! My in-laws, who are celebrating their 60th anniversary with a road trip from IL, loved sitting on the covered porch, drinking their morning coffee. They even hiked to Sol Duc falls! They rested the next day while we enjoyed Ruby Beach and Hoh rainforest. So many memories! If we ever head back this way, we'd stay here again!
Fisherman's Hollow is a Slice of Paradise. My family stayed for 3 nights and had an amazing time. We all loved everything about the cabin and the property surrounding it. Comfy beds, very important, and a beautiful and relaxing living room area with a terrific river view. At night my family surrounded the outdoor firepit and enjoyed the sound of the river going by. We are already planning our next trip and next time we'll be staying longer. Thank you for sharing your amazing cabin with us.
We had a wonderful weekend at Fishermans Hollow. The location was great and we had a blast visiting the Hoh rainforest and Rialto Beach. We can't wait to return and stay for longer than 2 days!
This will be our fourth year staying at this beautiful cabin and every time we do, we never want to leave! When my husband gets up to go fishing I relax on the deck with a cup of coffee and a good book. We cant get enough of it. When we're not relaxing at the cabin we're at Ruby Beach exploring or on the river fishing. Whether you like relaxing or adventure this is the place for you. We look forward to this every year, thank you so much for sharing your paradise with us!
Private riverfront cabin on the Bogachiel River. Excellent for fishermen, families, hunters, or romantic get-aways! Enjoy a campfire while watching wildlife roam (elk, deer, and eagles.)
Central location for exploring and hiking in the Olympic National Park. Visit Kalaloch, Ruby, and the beaches at La Push in less than 30 minutes.
Excellent set-up for fishermen to hang wet gear and relax after a day on the river.
