3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8
The cabin is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath home in the pine forest outside Sisters in Central Oregon. It’s a quiet, comfortable, spacious place, close to the amenities of Sisters and the mountains beyond, Bend, Smith Rock, and the wonders of Central Oregon. It's great for either hanging out or using as a home base for exploring the area. The interior is newly furnished, with comfy furniture and some beautiful, nature-oriented artwork.
The large master bedroom has a king bed, wood flooring, and a spacious master bath. The other two bedrooms each have queen beds, and there is also a full-size sofa bed in the living room. It sleeps 8 easily. Each bedroom has a good-size dresser and a large closet.
The kitchen is well-furnished. We like to cook and have prepared our Thanksgiving feast there. There’s a full collection of cookware, knives, etc., dishes and utensils for 12, as well as a range (with oven), microwave oven, blender, mixer, fridge, dishwasher, and coffee maker. The dining table seats up to 12.
The living room, which is well-lit with plenty of space, has comfortable seating. The house is equipped with WiFi that you are welcome to use. If you have streaming Netflix, you can watch movies with the TV's direct WiFi connection.
The deck in back of the house is a comfortable place to hang out, with deck tables and chairs. Enjoy the ponderosa forest, watch the bird life and the resident deer, or toss frisbees around the 2-acre property. There’s also a small porch in front of the house that’s a nice place to relax.

We're a family of four living in Corvallis, Oregon, who have had a lifelong love of outdoor activities in the mountains. Dad does marine research at Oregon State University, Mom is a dietetics professional, and the two boys are in grade school. We all love the outdoors and enjoy visiting the cabin every chance we get.
Deborah purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Deborah chose Sisters
We have always loved the land around Sisters -- the mountains and rivers, the pine forest, the scenery of McKenzie Pass, the hikes up toward North Sister, the Metolius River (and, for the younger two of us, the fun of throwing rocks in it), the skiing, the rafting and kayaking. And the sun -- when we're weary of the gray that envelops the Willamette Valley for many months of the year, the escape to the east side of the mountains is priceless. And then there's the town -- visiting the galleries to see what's new, stopping at Sno-Cap for some ice cream or the Sisters Coffee Company for baked treats, dining all over the place, or just walking around to soak up the ambiance. We looked for a place near Sisters for a long time and couldn't find anything that really called out to us -- until we came on this cabin. We decided it was the right one when we first saw the setting and then saw the inside. Good spacious neighborhood, well-kept place, plenty of room inside, and convenient to Sisters. It took only minutes to decide that this was the place (though of course the real estate transaction took months!).

A Five-Star Weekend!!!
We arrived in Sisters, OR for our oldest grandson's wedding and excitement in the air. The air was crisp and cool but sunny. The cabin was an easy drive from Sisters and not too complicated. When we arrived at the Ballenger Cabin we began settling in. We found everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. The beds were firm and very inviting after a busy day.
We really enjoyed watching the birds that visited the small pond in the back yard. There were such a variety of them!!! The outdoor wedding we were there for was chilly but very beautiful. After a rousing reception we were thankful to go back to our quiet cabin for a good night's rest.

We love staying here! Will continue to book!
A group of us have stayed here annually for the last four years and will continue to do so. The home is both comfortable, clean, and spacious. It's away from town a bit which is so nice and relaxing. We love booking here and hope to one day book possibly during the spring/ summer for a nice get away. Although the snow is fun, the beauty of the property is probably breathtaking in the sun.
Out of the crowd and close to town
Great place to stay for the weekend. Nice comfortable house, quiet location, and close to town. The snow was fun.
Great place! Lots of room, perfect for us.
We stayed here while visiting family in the area. Really roomy, pretty landscaping, kitchen well stocked with kitchen gear. Good selection of family board games. There may be a new french press there when you visit, we forgot ours there. Enjoy!
Nice get away place
Home was as described. Totally met our needs.
Good owners to work with
Nice location. The house is well taken care of and well appointed
Enjoy the tranquility of a quiet cabin in beautiful pine forest. Located 5 miles northeast of Sisters, Oregon, we're on the east side of the Cascades, with dry, sunny weather 300 days a year. The plunging Whychus Creek Canyon is nearby and rural wooded eastern Oregon is all around.
We're a short drive from Sisters, a small mountain arts town that is a hub for vacationers from all over. Sisters provides quick access to sightseeing in spectacular McKenzie Pass and along the Metolius and Deschutes Rivers, gourmet dining (Jen's Kitchen, Kokanee Cafe, ...), high-quality shopping in town (12 unique art galleries in a wide range of media), and outdoor fun. Did we mention outdoor fun? Hiking, golf, fishing and hunting, canoeing, cycling, downhill and cross-country skiing, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, disc golf, and much more. The 1.6-million-acre Deschutes National Forest nearby has hundreds of lakes, rivers, mountains, trails, scenic drives, and wilderness areas.
In addition, Sisters has festivals and shows to excite everyone: the Sisters Rodeo (June), the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show (July), the Sisters Folk Festival (September), the Sisters Starry Nights concert series (throughout the year), and many other events.
