Lovely home awesome location
My family and I had a wonderful stay. The kitchen had everything we needed for us to prepare all our meals at the house. The TTC station was a very short walk down the street and gave us easy access to the rest of downtown Toronto. Grant was a fantastic host. He responded quickly and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable.
perfect location and confortable place
As a family with two young boys, we found Grant's apartment very comfortable. With fine weather throughout our stay, we appreciated the charming garden....not to mention Withrow Park and Riverdale Park. Situated just a few steps away from Pape Station, one has easy access to the center of Toronto, via Subway. We took the 72B bus all the way to Queen's Quay, to take the ferry to the Toronto Islands, walk over to the CN Tower and the old round house (a train garage now converted into a museum and a micro-brewery). The 185 bus takes you to the Ontario Science Centre, where one should really spend the day! as it is GREAT!
Our beds were comfortable, and the heat worked when it started to get a bit chilly at night.
The bathroom could have been a bit cleaner, and the towels smelled musty, so I washed them and dried them in the laundry room.
All in all, we highly recommend this apartment (2 floors, bedrooms down below). Situated two steps to a peaceful and charming residential area (where I spent my childhood), and in the heart of Greek Town, with a variety of choice restaurants, Grant's place serves as a retreat from the highrise cement blocks, dizzying lights, and noise of the downtown core....which remains just a Subway ride away.
Comfy well appointed apartment in good location
We recently spent eight nights in this spacious well equipped, well located and comfortable apartment. The kitchen was well equipped with good quality cooking utensils and a welcome supplies of Tupperware containers as well as pantry basics. There is a good shower head with easy to operate controls and a good pressure and a plentiful supply of towels. There is an excellent TV satellite and package and the use of a landline phone .Transport facilities were excellent- a few mins walk from Pape subway station and buses stopping virtually outside the door . Basics supermarket and a bottle shop ten mins walk along Pape. Some nice shops and restaurants a short walk away on the interesting area of The Danforth. It felt very safe. Grant the owner was around for part of our stay and was friendly and very helpful with local tips and info. He has been great to deal with online- always replying promptly with any queries . The reason I have only given four rather than five stars is that there is limited natural light anywhere apart from the first reception room which gets light in the mornings. There is a pleasant garden at the back exclusively for visitors with a seating area and a barbecue and several mature trees which provides a small amount of dappled sun - this is great if you like shady areas to sit in the summer. The bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs the former are spacious with plenty of storage provided . The bed in the back room was very comfy but quite short - you might struggle with it if you are tall.
Overall we had a great time in Toronto and the apartment provided a comfortable, relaxing base for our travels.
Everything you need
We very much enjoyed our week in the Riverdale property. It was crazy hot outside but the basement bedrooms stayed nice and cool. The walk to the transit station was very convenient. The house is in a lovely older part of town with many other turn-of-the-century homes. It was wonderful walking through the neighbourhood. We felt perfectly safe walking all over the area even late at night. We would definitely consider staying there again and would recommend it to anyone who is able to handle the rather steep stairs to the basement.
This property is fantastic, very close to subway station, bus stop right outside. There are plenty restaurants, pubs and shops within a few minutes walk from accommodation.
This accommodation is easy to access from public transport and this subway line goes to the airport.
The accommodation has a very well stocked kitchen and anything you need is only around the corner at Foodland. Our host (Grant) is a very nice and polite man. We wouldn't hesitate to return here and I'm sure we will on our next trip to Toronto.
Ideal location for academic sabbatical travel with family/children
Great location, close to the Danforth (Greektown) with an abundance of excellent cafes, restaurants and shops (grocery, clothes, shoes, books). A number of playgrounds close by. Bus stop directly across the road and a very short walk to subway (Pape - includes an elevator). The public transport provides easy access to downtown, airport, museums, islands, major train station (Union), universities and other tourist locations. It is also possible to walk to downtown (under 1 hour - direct route). Apartment had a washing machine and dryer, backyard and wi-fi, as well as impressive kitchen. The apartment had a warm and cosy atmosphere and provided the opportunity for 3 private sleeping areas. During our stay Grant was away but his property manager David went out of his way to assist us and gave lots of handy travel advice. We would certainly stay here again!
The house is located near the Danforth in central Rverdale which has many shops, cafes, restaurants and night-life. A 5 minute walk to the subway easily accesses the parks, beaches, museums and galleries of Toronto.
