Recently renovated fully furnished and outfitted 2 level 2 bedroom suite with private patio, barbeque, patio furniture and garden tended by a gardener in the heart of Riverdale Greektown - satellite television, wireless internet, phones and laundry. Just a short walk to the subway, shops, cafes, outdoor markets and restaurants on the Danforth. Street parking permit available. The suite showcases a beautiful art collection.
I'm a school principal and artist - I live in an apartment on the top floor of the house
Grant/ owner purchased this apartment in 1990
From this location one can easily access all the attractions of exciting and vibrant Toronto
walk to the trendy shops, cafes and restaurants of the Danforth, one of Toronto's most desirable neighborhoods or enjoy a quiet barbeque in your private garden
Great location, close to the Danforth (Greektown) with an abundance of excellent cafes, restaurants and shops (grocery, clothes, shoes, books). A number of playgrounds close by. Bus stop directly across the road and a very short walk to subway (Pape - includes an elevator). The public transport provides easy access to downtown, airport, museums, islands, major train station (Union), universities and other tourist locations. It is also possible to walk to downtown (under 1 hour - direct route). Apartment had a washing machine and dryer, backyard and wi-fi, as well as impressive kitchen. The apartment had a warm and cosy atmosphere and provided the opportunity for 3 private sleeping areas. During our stay Grant was away but his property manager David went out of his way to assist us and gave lots of handy travel advice. We would certainly stay here again!
My family and I were very pleased with our stay at Grants' property in Greektown. The location couldn't be better, so close to grocers, restaurants and shopping, and only a few minutes walk from the subway station. The apartment was clean and spacious with all the amenities that a traveler might need. Grant is attentive and understanding, the perfect host. Property manager David took care of any need and is available to answer any questions and take care of all details.
We're very happy to have found this lovely house! It is very clean and well-equipped with everything you may need. Although it sits upon a busy street, we found it to be a very quiet and peaceful place. Perfectly located, convenient for walking to nearby restaurants and wonderful coffee shops. We had a fabulous Indian dinner at the recommended Sher-E-Punjab restaurant at 351 Danforth. Highly recommend staying at this lovely place where details are well-thought out by the owners. We would love to return!
The space was clean and decorated in young urban/hip fashion. Everything you need is there.
Convenient to public transportation which we used and let our car rest on a side street. (Car parking in Toronto can get costly, use public transport)
The Danforth neighborhood (aka Greektown) is riddled with great restaurants. We ate greek food twice and authentic mexican food once. (Love the sidewalk dining!)
All in all a great find!! Why rent a hotel room when you can have your own home while here.
Thanks to the homeowner!
Grant left very useful information for us to move around Toronto. He also provided us with information even before we arrived. The house is adequately furnished and had everything we needed. The backyard was ideal for cookouts and dinner. The location of this house is perfect since the bus stop is right across and the metro is a 2 minute walk. Grocery stores, bakeries, and ethnic restaurants are within easy walking distance. The only complaint we have is about the bedrooms downstairs - they smelled of mold. A cleaning and airing out of the bedrooms will make this a perfect place.
We just spent a week at this property. It is very well equipped and the owner is very accommodating, The space has a kitchen, living room and and what could be a reading space or office, if you should find you need to do a bit of work while staying. The walls of every room are lines with original drawings, paintings and prints by the owner and other artists. You have access to the backyard garden and BBQ from this floor. The bathroom and two bedrooms are on the lower( basement level with access to a washer and dryer as well). This home is on a busy street( Pape Avenue) yet you do not hear the traffic of busses from within. It is also the nicest house on the block. The area appears a bit worn but is safe. It is a short walk to the Pape Subway station and a loads of stores, restaurants and people on the Danforth. The house and space have charm and character, but not in a designer TV show way.
Grant provides a parking pass which you can use to park in the streets off Pape, but not on it as it has no parking most of the time. You can leave your car parked and use transit to get quickly to downtown attractions.
This rental would not be appropriate for a guest with mobility issues because of the stairs. It was relatively clean, however there were a few dust bunnies and webs on the brick walls, nothing serious, but a neat freak might not be comfortable. There is a gas stove and oven and a half size dishwasher and apartment size refrigerator, so buying food at the many stores within walking distance could save you a lot of money over the restaurants.
I would stay again if I was coming to the city for a longer stay.
The house is located near the Danforth in central Rverdale which has many shops, cafes, restaurants and night-life. A 5 minute walk to the subway easily accesses the parks, beaches, museums and galleries of Toronto.
