About the property

2016 is in the books. What a great year! Thank you.

Winter Weekend rates. Check in anytime on Friday and check out anytime on Sunday. $200 a night plus $50 for cleaning. Plan your romantic getaway here.

It's time to think summer and get your dates reserved before they get booked.

This is a country cabin located half way between Cumberland and Turtle Lake. If you're looking for a peaceful get away you've found it. This lake cabin is carved out of the woods on a quiet dead end road with little traffic. 'What more can you ask for, right?' Well,...

The lake is clean with great swimming/fishing, the shoreline is loaded with the purple pickerel plant. The cabin features many unique characteristics that give it a personal welcoming charm. Inside, there are two bedrooms; one upstairs with a queen and one downstairs that is a bunk with a double on the bottom and twin on the top. The cabin is fully furnished, 2 couches, rocker, rustic pine chair, coffee tables, end tables, etc... The kitchen is well supplied; plenty of large and small appliances and all the utensils you need. and yes, wine glasses too!. There are lots of games and books here. The best room in the house is the lakeside screened in porch for obvious reasons.

Outside, there are two fire pits here, one lakeside and the other up by the cabin, for those of you that need a calming campfire while you stay. Don't worry about firewood it's here. Want to barbecue, you can use gas or charcoal here. There is a fish cleaning house located on the property as well. The kayaks, paddle boat, canoe and paddle boards are all included!

All the good stuff is here, you'll think you died and went to heaven.

The pontoon is available for $500 week or $100 a day.

New washer and dryer available for a fee.

Fall in Love with Long Lake.

Things to consider before you book your rental.

Does the vacation rental have...

-a screened in porch for outdoor living when it's raining or an unanticipated Wisconsin bug hatch hatches?

-are there paddle boards and kayaks available?

-is there swimming right off your dock?

-fireplaces available, along with firewood?

-WiFi available, a smart TV(not that you need a TV)

-Hidden costs?

-Does the vacation rental have character?

-What are the sunsets like? I'm a sucker for a good sunset. This cabin has fantastic sunsets.

Save on summer rates by booking for 7 nights. $1525 for the week.

If your party has more than 5 adults add $100 a night for each adult over 5.

I will try to meet you at the cabin your first night or the next day. It's my favorite time to meet new people as see if there is anything more I can do for you. Besides meeting new friends I'm looking for any kind of feedback. Here is the most popular feedback to date. "You've thought of everything", "The pictures don't do this place justice" "We thought it might be a little small when we pulled in but it's perfect" "Did you do all the decorating?" The last one makes me smile. Yes, I did the decorating. It's a neutral northwoods cabin charm, great for all ages and each gender. Don't take it from me check out the reviews.

About Matthew Richter

Hello, my name is Matthew. I grew up on a dairy farm located right nearby my cabin. I love the outdoors and hope you do as well. When I purchased this cabin I had a vision to make improvements and offer a little more than a cabin with lake access. With you in mind, I spent my free time getting this place ready for you. That is why I didn't open the doors for a year and a half. I like to think I built/created what many have wanted to and for that I feel blessed. Now it’s time for you to experience it. Visit as strangers but please leave as a friends. –Matt

Also to note, I've spent many years working and guiding at an Alaskan lodge. This allowed me to gain valuable insight into creating a unique experience. My enjoyment comes from hearing or seeing others enjoying themselves.

Why Matthew Richter chose Wisconsin

It's quite, peaceful, calm, and so easy to relax. I found a gem close to my family farm. It's not too big and it's not too small. You'll spend precious time with family, friends and mother nature and not "getting lost". The seasons make it so special as well! It to hard to have a favorite season here!. This is truly a vacation destination. Don't forget about a romantic winter getaway with your boyfriend or girlfriend.

What makes this cabin unique

The fishing. The quietness. The screened in porch in the morning or the evening. The lake is big enough for pontoons and some tubing but not for skiing. During the week you'll feel like you'll have the lake to yourself! It's quite here.

Clean, comfortable and very nice

  • 5 of 5

Rented the cabin for a place to stay while hunting in the area. The cabin was clean and had many amenities. A very nice place to relax after a day of hunting. Matt was extremely accommodating and great to work with. He made sure we were comfortable and wanted to know if there was anything the cabin was lacking for hunters. I would not hesitate to rent this cabin again. Thanks Matt.

Quaint, Cozy Cabin perfect for R & R

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our 4 kiddos (ages 9 - 3) to see the fall colors the first weekend in October. This spot certainly made for a wonderful long weekend. My entire family loved the canoe and paddleboats. The lake was perfect for frog hunting and watching spectacular sunrises. The kitchen appliances were great, with lots of extras not normally found in a rental. Matt was a gracious host and you can tell he takes pride in his property. It was clean and well stocked with books, movies and games. A perfect spot for our little family. I highly recommend staying in this amazing cabin and enjoying the quiet and fun of Comstock, Wisconsin.

Nice, relaxing place with lots of water toys! We had a great time and would go back again!

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was the perfect size for our group and was well stocked with everything we needed! We enjoyed all the water toys and the gorgeous views. Our only wish was that the lake was a little bigger. Other than that, it was great!

Owner's Response: I'm glad you had a great time. The lake is nice and long, it's tucked into the trees which make it great for the water toys. Even on windy days you'll enjoy joy the water toys where on big lakes you wouldn't have those to enjoy. I'm also happy you had a relaxing time. Thanks for coming.

Quite and serene setting in Wisconsin

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed the cabin on the lake. The weather was great and the cabin was well stocked with everything needed but the food. Fishing for bass was very good but not for other species. Wildlife sightings were great with hummingbirds, deer, loons and bald eagles. Swimming and paddle boarding was decent, considering its a power boat lake. We were surprised that in Wisconin, the State would allow unlimited horse power on a 60 acre pond/lake. But being there during the week did not really affect our activities as the boat traffic was very light.

The surrounding areas are quite with not too much to do in the vicinity. One would have to drive 30 min plus for anything exciting. Nevertheless, that was perfect for us as we needed time to immerse and relax.

Matt, the Owner, was awesome and always helpful!

Owner's Response: So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and that it was perfect for you. I'm happy too because you came from so far away and trusted that the cabin would be everything you needed for your stay in Wisconsin. "Tight Lines" as they say in the fishing world. Cheers.

Incredibly Relaxing Stay!

  • 5 of 5

This cabin was even better than the pictures showed. It was nicely decorated and very clean upon our arrival. The location was EXACTLY what we were looking for during our stay. It is in a very quiet secluded area, but only 20 minutes away from town for practically any food or supplies you may need during a stay.

The cabin had pretty much everything we needed to prepare our meals including some basic food spices, etc. The upper patio area is BEAUTIFUL with the gas grill and fire pit right there for cooking or just a campfire. Our girls got a lot of use out of the paddle boards, kayaks, and canoe on the lake, and the pontoon boat was nice to relax on as well.

We were very impressed with the owner, Matt, who was extremely attentive to any needs we had during our stay. If something was needed, he took care of it promptly. He was available quickly by phone too. Matt has done a wonderful job with all the work he has put into this property, and on top of that he enjoys sharing it with others!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay here very much. If you are looking for a place to get away for a relaxing time with friends or family, then this is the place for you. We would certainly recommend this property to anyone!

Thanks Matt for your wonderful hospitality. Owners like you are the reason we love to use rentals like this!!
