Terence purchased this condo in 1989
It provides easy access to all of the facilities of Whistler with secure parking and without the need to drive anywhere. It has a beautiful view, and is quiet in the evening.
Whistler is a cosmopolitan town, It seems to be full of Australians, but has young people from all over the Commonwealth as well as Europe and Asia. There is definitely a spot for Francophiles. This is all blended with the underlying conservative, courteous and strongly Canadian hospitality. It is an enthusiastic youthful and happy place to visit with great skiing and Summer activities as well as an inspiring mix of cultures.
The unit was in a great location, right above the MoeJoe's club on the 4th floor which is in the center of the action and a short 10 min walk to both Blackcomb Excaliber lift and Whistler Village Gondola. With that said, be prepared for some light noise on busy nights. Not enough to keep me awake but I'm a heavy sleeper. You can hear drunk kids screaming down below, but since this unit is all the way up on the 4th floor it's not as loud. I feel sorry for the chaps on the lower floors. Also keep in mind that the entrance to this condo is literally next to the entrance to MoeJoe's which means when you're trying to get home at night, you're also pushing through a crowd of drunk kids trying to get into the club. We literally had to get past the "VIP line" and the bouncer of the club in order to get to the entrance door, and half the time he would try to stop us before we told him we were just trying to get home. Kind of annoying if you ask me. Perhaps it was due to the MLK weekend crowd, but I had to mention it nonetheless. The unit itself has character but is in dire need of updating. The wall outlets are so old and loose our phone chargers kept falling out when we tried plugging them in. What we paid for 7 days stay which was a little on the high end, but it's more for the location and convenience. Probably cheapest in this area and it's worth it for the location. The bed was comfy enough to get a good nights rest. Didn't use the kitchen at all so I can't speak to the stove, but it's electric and quite old. Microwave and dishwasher are newer and work great. Fridge makes a racket every time the compressor shuts off which adds more character to the place.
BE WARNED: THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS. We knew this coming in, but I'm sure people don't read so I had to mention it again. You must walk up 4 flights of stairs. The available parking is underground and heated but a bit out of the way to get to, so don't plan on going back and forth frequently. You have to go out the back door, cross the street to the convention center, go downstairs then back upstairs before you reach the access keypad you need to open the gate. My suggestion, familiarize yourself with how to get to your car then figure out how to get your luggage up in the fewest trips possible. The concierge service was great! Shirley booked all of our tickets and had them ready in the condo when we arrived
We would definitely stay here again. Just make sure you know what to expect from the get go
Terence's condo is situated right in the middle of the village. While it was above Tapley's bar and a nightclub, we weren't disturbed by the music at all. If anything, it was great to be so close and within walking distance to a bar.
It was a 5 minute walk to the lifts for both Whistler and Blackcomb, which was convenient and manageable, even in ski boots. The condo also has a locker to put your skis (rather than walking up four flights of stairs with them). The only problem was that we weren't able to fit everyone's skis or snowboards in the allocated locker because there were four of us.
The condo was stocked with the essentials, but we rarely ran the dishwasher full because there wasn't enough cutlery or crockery before we ran out. If you're not using the condo to cook in, then you would be fine. The condo is walking distance to so many nice restaurants anyway. The one thing I would suggest for the kitchen is investing in a kettle.
We were there for a total of 18 nights, and it was great to have a cleaner mid-stay at no extra cost. Big shout out to Shirley, who sent through detailed information prior to our arrival with everything that we needed. She continued to be responsive when we needed assistance and was flexible in arranging an early check in so we didn't have to hang around the village.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you're coming to Whistler. You can't get much closer to the slopes!
It was a very hot, busy week with Crankworx going on, but staying at this condo was perfect.
It's location was awesome, the concierge sent directions, which were helpful in finding parking and getting to the condo from the parking.
Super close to the lifts and everything we needed.
It was clean. Since there is no AC, a fan or multiple fans would have been nice for the 90 degree days.
The property is well located and comfortable enough - good value for the location in Whistler Village. The Concierge Service that is offered with the stay is an excellent service - all of the details of our trip were handled without a hitch.
Booking the apartment for exactly the dates that were required was successful however it was a little more hassle than expected. Leading up to departure the amount of communication and detail of the information provided for finding and accessing the parking, apartment and locker room was accurate and easy to understand, which was great for getting organized quickly and easily. The apartment its self was basic but perfect for the trip (two adults, nine nights, ski, sleep and repeat) - general accessibility, general location within Whistler village, access to lifts, mountains, shops and restaurants were great. The noise from the village (specifically bars was only really noticed on Friday and Saturday nights) was not a significant issue. For a light sleeper ear plugs should provide the solution. The apartment its self was clean, tidy, warm and comfortable, however if you plan on self catering all week the kitchen utensils were a little basic, but not a significant problem with a little ingenuity. Over all as a skiing apartment it was excellent, the only request would be for a key coded lock on the ski room door rather than a key. Great overall, would definitely stay at the apartment again. Thank you to the managers and owners.
It works but be sure to get good directions to parking and condo. Nice deck if weather permits. 2 bath is a plus. Basic cable
The condominium is in the heart of Whistler and surrounded by shops, restaurants, dance clubs, bars. It is a 2 min walk to the ski lifts for both mountains. As it is a penthouse with balconies it is quiet in the evening and gives a great view of the mountains.
It has private parking under the concrete building included in the rental price. There is a ki locker but no storage for bikes at the ground floor. However there is secure bike storage at the base of the mountain near the lifts.
Private Concierge Service is complementary. Our concierge Shirley Hills is a great resource for you. She can book transportation from the airport, offer discounted lift tickets delivered to your home, with discounted ski rentals and can arrange ski lessons. Ask her advice on restaurants and most activities including Sleigh Rides, Snowmobile tours, Heli Skiing, Spa Treatments, Child Care, and in Summer White Water Rafting, and Tee times and more.
