About Greg Noonan
I'm a spontaneous adventurer. Pretty much no sport I won't try but most of the time I'm either biking, swimming, playing tennis or working on the properties. I spend my business day working with car manufactures and dealers to help improve their relationships with customers. I've traveled to many countries in Europe, South America and most states in the USA. Last spring I traveled 6000 miles on a new Harley I bought at a charity auction in San Francisco. In February of 2017 I spent a month in Costa Rica. Since our guests have so many interests I often ask them to join in on some of the sports we play, and yes, they are usually better than I am. Since this is your vacation I like to talk with the people looking at the Sleeping Lion to make sure this is the right place for you. Often I have 5 or more conversations before we confirm a reservation. Since I've had 100% satisfaction we can be pretty sure you will enjoy the same experience our previous guests have.
Greg Noonan purchased this Lodge in 2006
Why Greg Noonan chose Cooperstown
You are in vacation so you need to enjoy it. Hundreds of families have enjoyed a week long vacation at The Sleeping Lion On The Lake. Save money on dining by using your kitchen. Private decks on lake. I also own VRBO 330704 and often groups rent both properties. So when you are trying to figure out where to stay I suggest you look very carefully at what you want for your week vacation stay. If you don't want water but do want to be in the think of downtown traffic then probably should stain in town. I you like waking up on the water, catching a morning swim and eating breakfast on the dock, the Sleeping Lion is your place.

Wow, so much more than we expected.
Wonderful location, on the lake for morning coffee, then quick drive to Cooperstown for breakfast. Next time we are staying for a full week.
Family and Fishing friendly CDP retreat.
Close enough to CDP, but far enough away to feel like a true vacation destination. My parents stayed with me and Greg was an amazing host to us all, full of local insight which was much appreciated. We rented a pontoon at a nearby marina for the day before CDP check-in and the day after we were eliminated from the tournament. We caught some of the biggest Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass I have ever seen. Lake Ostego provides a beautiful and scenic backdrop with Eagles flying about. This property is a great value for access to the lake and proximity to town.
Get Away from the CDP Madness for some Peace and Quiet
We were in Cooperstown for the CDP tournament. Sleeping Lion lived up to all our expectations, the views were fantastic and it was a great place to wind down and relax away from all the craziness of the tournament and downtown Cooperstown. Greg did everything he could to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. While it is a short drive to downtown and CDP we very much enjoyed the ability to find some piece and quiet away from all the commotion.
2nd son and trip to Cooperstown
Wow! It's always a risk when you rent a house sight unseen We hit gold It was perfect The view was stunning and perfect distance from downtown and the ballpark We stayed in the other side of the lake last time and this side is preferred (the distance is less and drive is not as frightening with hair pin curves at 50mph in the pitch black!)
Fishing was spectacular Caught a dozen fish (4 different types) off the dock Kids were in heaven. It also has multi level decks-a great added touch The owner was incredible friendly, gracious and very accommodating The house suited our needs: to sleep and get a bite to eat The rest of our time was spent outside enjoying the fabulous lake and baseball See ya in 3 years Greg!!
Dream Park Escape
While my son played baseball in Dreams Park (23 min away) we got to escape to the lake in between games.
We had all the comforts of home PLUS the lake - swimming, boating, rowing, fishing, fire pit, gas and charcoal grill and a deck that over looks it all!
The owners hospitality is exceptional! Couldn't have felt more welcome.
Love the Sleeping Lion!
We had the pleasure of staying at the Sleeping Lion Inn on two occasions and relaxing is the best description. As the mother of a baseball player, I cherished the opportunity to relax by the water with coffee in the morning and cookouts at night. Our family enjoyed fishing, boating, smores, kayaking and more. It was not only a baseball tournament, but a wonderful vacation. The owners are delightful and their genuine hospitality enhanced the experience. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to my next visit.
Sleeping Lion is a 9 minute from Cooperstown and we have 4 individual suites in one large lodge. All suites have private entrance. We have private lake frontage.
Suite 1 and 2 are $1250 each for the week and have queen bed in main room and twin in sunroom. They have kitchens, bathroom and private deck on the lake.
Suite 3 additionally has living room with queen bed couch and sunroom with twin and has a second bathroom as well as a deck. It is $1450.
Suite 4 has queen bed, kitchenette, bathroom and sun room. $975
The short drive to Cooperstown is far enough away to miss the noise and crowds of village. We are 1 mile south of Glimmerglass Opera and if you are lucky enough to be here the 3rd week of the summer months you can join me at our fly-in pancake breakfast 3rd Saturday of each month.
While you may be here for a baseball tournament, museums, wedding, family visit or vacation, The Sleeping Lion offers relaxation for all. Regardless what your interests are you're only minutes away from a nice swim, round of golf, tennis, a nice country bicycle ride or lounge reading a book overlooking the water from your deck off of your sunroom.
