About Pietro del Bono
Born in Milan where I grew up, I moved to the States in the eighties. back home in the nineties, I've been working since in real estate. Married since 1995, two daughters, I've decided to improve the artistic and cultural family's real estate properties. Our historic homes, where we still spend weekends and holidays, are open to whomever wants to discover a traditional way of living.
Pietro del Bono purchased this Villa in 1932
Why Pietro del Bono chose Cremella
It's really unique. Built in 1890, it was bought by my grandparents in 1932 and it has been in the family ever since. Renewed in the 1960s and in the early 2000s, it's a copy of a 14th century Florentine villa: but, thank God, much smaller!
What makes this Villa unique
The pool and the garden! In the middle of a six hectares garden surrounde by a wall, the putside world is, well, outside. Less than an hour away from downtown Milan, you could be anywhere, lost in the middle of the country.

Our stay at Villa del Bono was remarkable.
The home is spectacular with more room than our party of 16 ever needed and furnished with amazing antiques and surrounded by thousands of books, some dating back 200 years. The ceilings in the main home were breathtaking, as was much of the art, some dating to the 14th century. It was a bit like being invited to stay in a historic house museum. The park like setting was quiet and relaxing, punctuated only by the ringing of the nearby church bell. No traffic noise or other human noise pollution. The view down the tree lined drive is impressive matched by the view of the distant mountains out the back and side of the home. The pool is enormous and well cared for.
Our host met us in Milano and led us to the villa and stayed to show us each room and generously shared the history of the home and his family. He went the extra mile by returning the following day with a crib for the youngest member of our party. Pietro even invited us to visit his family at another of the family’s villas later in the week. He was a remarkable host.
The onsite staff were there when needed and the catering and housekeeping he arranged were outstanding. Giulia is an excellent chef and was there for early morning breakfasts as well as preparing gourmet dinners on request.
Our biggest challenge was negotiating the speed bumps on the very long drive way in our low ground clearance car we had rented while the other larger vehicles in our party did fine. The house is a bit of a time capsule, with the baths dating to the 1950s, so don’t expect the latest bath design but all were fully functional.
It's been a pleasure to have Charles and all the other with us: I really recommend him, he's been a perfect guest.
Charles, I'm looking forward to meet you all again,in Italy or in the States!
