My wife and I stayed in the cottage for several days during our Hawaii honeymoon. We found the cottage to be more than adequate, well appointed, and cozy! Make no mistake, the interior is rather small, but more than big enough for a couple to live comfortably. The lanai was amazing, and we made use of the outdoor kitchenette to cook breakfasts every morning. Michael gave us an informative tour of the property when we arrived, complete with a walk around the veritable botanical garden he has cultivated around his home. He was on property to address any needs we had, but you are given complete privacy otherwise. The location of the property directly on Keauhou Bay is amazing, and you are well positioned to explore the Kona side of the island. We loved our time here, and can't wait to come back again sometime!
Our stay was marvelous. This was our 9th trip to Kona, which is perhaps my favorite spot in world. Prior to this trip, we have stayed at hotels, condos, and a lovely house - but Michael's cottage is our favorite. The view of the bay is amazing, the privacy of the location is unsurpassed, and Michael's attention to detail ensured that everything was perfect. We hope to return. Thank you, Michael!
Enjoyed our 3 nights at the cottage. Michael is very friendly and helpful. We swam and paddle boarded from the platform in front of the house. A little tricky getting out over the rocks. The property is beautifully maintained and we enjoyed learning about some of the trees and plants we don't see at home.
The inside of the unit is compact, but very nice. Note the kitchen is outside. The location, the grounds, lanai, and water access are phenomenal. Very private. Great snorkeling right there. Michael is the owner, on site to help if something pops up. In sum: It is choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.
Michael was a great host, property was excellent. Views of the bay were outstanding and Michael has done a fabulous job with landscaping. Our first trip time the Islands and no need to go anywhere else next time.
This newly renovated waterfront residence is part of the Evans Estate located on Keauhou Bay. It is a two bedroom cottage with a new posturpedic king size bed in the master bedroom. We use 600 thread count sheets in the master bedroom and a second room has a couch that can be converted to a queen bed for use as a living room or as a queen bed for use as a bedroom to accommodate up to 4 guests. Each room has separate climate controls. Both rooms access the large private lanai through sliding doors with spectacular ocean views. This cottage is located on a beautifully landscaped acre with two other cottages on a private path to the ocean amidst exotic ornamental landscaping, mature fruit trees and organic vegetable gardens. Next door to the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay in a secluded romantic setting . The cottage has a new open air kitchenette and outdoor bar hand crafted by our carpenters in African mahogany. Enjoy commanding Keauhou Bay views, a newly renovated bathroom with a lovely glass enclosed rain shower, and new travertine flooring. The private deck is 50 ft from the ocean on a private path with a relaxing outdoor shower. The grounds include water features, a brackish water pond with rare shrimp species and botanical gardens. The gated entrance to the property allows the privacy of both keypad and remote control entry and exit. Recreational options within walking distance are numerous and include swimming with manta rays, all ocean sports, golf, tennis, restaurants, and numerous natural and cultural wonders to explore.
