Kitty is originally from Canada, and Russ is British. We also lucky to have our good friends Tracy & Andrew, who take over and live on-site whilst we are away, so the property is never without someone on hand to help!

We fell in love with the island - and the people - of Grenada on our very first visit, a slightly delayed honeymoon. On our second visit we felt so bereft at having to leave, we started looking for property & soon discovered the cooler, greener, quieter north of the island.
The North is completely unspoilt by tourism yet with a strong enough expat/retired Grenadian population to support a range of restaurants and services. Bathway Beach - and neighbouring Levera - are quite simply gorgeous and untouched... in fact, we are the only accommodation on the beachfront in our area.
We designed and oversaw the building of this property ourselves. Having spent so much of our professional lives travelling hotel to hotel, the last thing we wanted when we were on holiday was to go stay in another hotel with bland decor, intrusive daily housekeeping, and the pressure of rushing to the hotel restaurant before they stopped serving breakfast!
MoonFish is entirely self-catering which allows guests to set their own pace and truly relax!
The villas are fully detached, and the ground-floor apartment is very private, each with a kitchen which saves guests money, as they don't need to eat every meal out in a restaurant.
Vacation Rentals are growing in popularity over hotels, with most guests refusing to go back to the more expensive, smaller square footage, with fewer amenities shared by more guests that hotels offer. We are always thrilled when guests arrive and exclaim 'there's so much room!'
Our guests enjoy a quieter stay as we only allow children who are 8 years or older. This is not as restrictive as some properties on the island, some have a limit of 15 or over, but it works for us - and our guests!
3 night minimum, we are happy to welcome children over the age of 8 years old.
We stayed at the Moonfish Villa for three weeks. It was a little piece of heaven. The Moonfish Villa offered us the best way to relax and to tour the beautiful island of Grenada. The location is fantastic, right by the ocean. We would spend most of the time on the big terrace, especially in the morning, watching the sunrise and looking at the waves. The Bathway Beach is just beautiful, never crowded, pretty much empty. The Levera Beach is only a 15-minute walk away, and is just as breathtaking and even less crowded. The colour of the ocean is just unbelievable. The villa is very spacious, two bedrooms plus two baths downstairs and huge kitchen/ dining/ living space upstairs, plus that amazing terrace. The kitchen has everything you need. No dishwasher and no washer and dryer, after all it is a "beach house", but Kitty let us do a couple loads of laundry. The place is really clean, it feels like home from the moment you step into it. The location is away from the hustle and bustle, there are no resorts on this side of the island except for Petite Anse which is a good drive away. No coffee shops either, just a handful of restaurants, you can only walk to Aggie's, which is really good, the other restaurants you need to drive to. The Heights is fantastic. Bring your own coffee if you are a coffee lover, you can only buy instant on this side. The villa has a French press. St. George's is about 1.5 hour away, the road is narrow and steep at times as you drive through the mountains. It looks close on the map, but it isn't. Kitty and Russ are a wonderful couple, very helpful, easy to communicate with. The pool is really neat, rarely busy as there is just one more villa and one suite for rent. You definitely need a car there. Be prepared to really relax and decompress. The place is just made for that. It was a great holiday!
Kitty was a fabulous host. The duplex was clean and well-appointed. Kitty even provided us with some extra treats. Not much to do in that part of the island, but that was just what we wanted. There is a great little restaurant close enough to walk to that we ate at twice. It truly is a shangri-La and if ever in Grenada again, we will definitely stay there.
Moonfish Villas is a wonderful place to stay, the best that I am aware of in the northern part of the island. The accommodation is simple but elegant - and comfortable - and the location and views are stunning. Recommended.
We visited Grenada with our 9 & 11yo kids to get away from the brutal winter. After a rough flight and drive to the property we were pretty stressed, but one look around and it all melted away. The beautiful views of the oceans, the lovely pool and the clean comfortable house were everything we hoped. We visited crater lakes, swam at the falls, toured a rum factory and swam at several different beaches. We had our ups and downs as we explored every part of Grenada, but we were always thrilled to return to the property where we enjoyed the pool or took a short walk to the swimming beach. You can walk to the shacks on the beach or to Aggies for lunch/dinner. From our first inquiry Kitty was a treasure of information. In Grenada, she was always available when needed but never intruded. She helped arrange a fishing trip for my husband, suggested restaurants, recommended sites to visit and made sure we had plenty of family friendly movies. It is a bit remote, and you will need a car, but if you want to get away from it all this place is great. At the right time of year you might even see a leatherback turtle laying eggs on the beach like we did!
The best decision we made in planning our trip was booking at moonfish. The first half of our trip was at hotels. We had a such a relaxing week enjoying our honeymoon! The Bathway area is the ideal relaxing, quiet location. Highlights are the friendly locals at the beach, the food shacks, and of course the sunsets and moonlit nights. Aggies restaurant is extremely good. We had a car for half the week to check out some sights and buy some groceries and then we gave it up to just enjoy what was within walking distance. The house had everything we needed and more. Kitty was always available and willing to help if we had any questions. I know other reviews touch on it but I cannot emphasize how easy she made our stay. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you so much!

The setting is perfect, the villas are exactly as described and Kitty not only traced our lost luggage but provided bananas from her garden and home baked treats. We have rented villas all over the world for many years and this is one of the best.
If you hire a car you will get lost: there are 25 signposts on the island and 25,000 junctions but the scary looking guy with the machete will give you a huge smile and send you the right way when you stop for directions.
We will go back to Moonfish very soon.
Every guide book talks of ‘breathtaking’, ‘unspoilt’, Bathway Beach. This is the heart of authentic, hidden Grenada. Discover historic plantation houses, haunting Carib's Leap and evocative Helvellyn House with its’ famous pottery. Grand Etang National Reserve is just 30 minutes drive away. Within 15 minutes drive are shops and supermarkets and a number of restaurants ranging from the formal to the charming. However, just a few minute’s walk along the beach are 3 ramshackle ‘chicken shacks’ serving freshly caught fish and chicken of course and behind them is the popular Aggie's restaurant. For nature lovers Levera Beach is moments away, a secluded haven for birds and sea turtles, including the giant Leatherback. ‘This is Turtle watching is at it's best!’ Local fishermen will take you fishing or for a day's picnic and snorkelling on Sandy Island (which lies opposite the beach house) where the famous Bounty Chocolate bar adverts were filmed – this truly is ‘A taste of paradise’.
