Kitty is originally from Canada, and Russ is British. We also lucky to have our good friends Tracy & Andrew, who take over and live on-site whilst we are away, so the property is never without someone on hand to help!

We fell in love with the island - and the people - of Grenada on our very first visit, a slightly delayed honeymoon. On our second visit we felt so bereft at having to leave, we started looking for property & soon discovered the cooler, greener, quieter north of the island.
The North is completely unspoilt by tourism yet with a strong enough expat/retired Grenadian population to support a range of restaurants and services. Bathway Beach - and neighbouring Levera - are quite simply gorgeous and untouched... in fact, we are the only accommodation on the beachfront in our area.
We designed and oversaw the building of this property ourselves. Having spent so much of our professional lives travelling hotel to hotel, the last thing we wanted when we were on holiday was to go stay in another hotel with bland decor, intrusive daily housekeeping, and the pressure of rushing to the hotel restaurant before they stopped serving breakfast!
MoonFish is entirely self-catering which allows guests to set their own pace and truly relax!
The villas are fully detached, and the ground-floor apartment is very private, each with a kitchen which saves guests money, as they don't need to eat every meal out in a restaurant.
Vacation Rentals are growing in popularity over hotels, with most guests refusing to go back to the more expensive, smaller square footage, with fewer amenities shared by more guests that hotels offer. We are always thrilled when guests arrive and exclaim 'there's so much room!'
Our guests enjoy a quieter stay as we only allow children who are 8 years or older. This is not as restrictive as some properties on the island, some have a limit of 15 or over, but it works for us - and our guests!

A Perfect hideaway in Northern Grenada
We (2couples), stayed for 4 nights in Pelican Villa, and had a wonderful stay. Kitty, the owner is an amazing organiser who knows everyone in the area and can sort out anything!!!
The villa is very comfortable, right on the beach. As it's elevated it has amazing views and catches the breeze so keeps a comfortable temperature. The surrounding area is quiet but interesting and we would say that a car is essential. Kitty organised a taxi to meet us at the airport and a hire car to be delivered next day.
If unspoiled areas are for you, Pelican Villa is the place to stay. We loved it and were sorry to leave.
What I liked best about this accommodation: "Everything"
I Recommend This For: "I probably would recommend this accommodation to my best friend!"

We had a wonderful three nights staying at Kitty and Russ' apartment. The Northern part of Grenada is a bit off the beaten path and feels a bit "undiscovered," which is exactly what we loved about it. We never could have navigated it so well or seen so much in so little time (just 3 days!) without our hosts' excellent recommendations. We are so grateful for their hospitality!
My husband and I, and my parents, spent 8 nights in Pelican at Moonfish. We loved our stay in this part of the island and Moonfish was a great location from which to explore all that this part of Grenada offers. Pelican is a casual, comfortable, spacious beach house with soaring ceilings and great balconies facing the ocean (off of the upstairs dining/living area and the main level bedrooms). A color scheme of blues, whites and grays reflects the ocean location and is very cheerful. We spent many hours on the upstairs balcony looking out at the ocean and nearby islands, enjoying the constant ocean breezes, the sound of the crashing waves and soaking in the incredible natural beauty. Because of the breezes, we didn't encounter any mosquitoes here.
Kitty was amazingly helpful in her suggestions for restaurants and things to do. She really went the extra mile to be hospitable in every way. Any issues that we had were promptly addressed.
Having the beach steps away from our doorstep and a swimming beach on Bathway just a couple minutes walk away, was ideal. Levera Beach was also very, very close. Two absolutely beautiful beaches!
The breezes and ceiling fans kept things mostly comfortable, although some nights were warmer than we'd like for sleeping. The sounds of crashing waves and frogs at night were a natural, interesting part of the surrounding environment and we loved hearing them. They might be too loud for some for sleeping, so just bring earplugs if it might be an issue.
We loved our time in the North and our stay at Moonfish! We loved the privacy and the special beauty that we encountered here. We'd love to come back!
We rented one of the Moonfish Villas (the Pelican) because we wanted to spend some time on the beach but away from the crowds of tourists and it was perhaps the best vacation we ever had (and we travel _a lot_). It is an ideal destination for anyone who likes comfort but does not like the over-groomed accommodation and one-size-fits-all style of a resort. It is also great for nature lovers and for people who do not like the noise of a tourist beach.
The villas are located right on the beautiful Bathway beach. Swimming is dangerous at the Bathway beach (as in do not even try) which leaves it practically empty However, there is another gorgeous beach - Levera beach - about 20 minute leisurely but spectacular walk by foot, or a 5 minute drive.
The Bathway beach is a locals’ beach: so if you want a flavor of the people who live here, it is the place to be. You can witness a family cookout or watch families play in shallow rock-guarded pool.
The Pelican villa comfortably houses 4 people with a possibility of one more [child] guest staying in the “Harry Potter” room. The rooms are clean, spacious and airy, the kitchen is open-concept and turns into welcoming common space. The balcony opens onto the ocean offering spectacular views of the beach and the sky.
The grounds are beautiful and bright with plants and flowers. The is a private pool and a small veranda from which you can see and hear the sea.
Within 3 minutes walk there is Aggie’s restaurant – a must try and a another small chip place (which we did not try).
If you plan to stay here, do not be like us and arrange for a car rental in advance. Getting groceries and fresh fish at Sauteurs is an experience in and of itself. There are plenty of charming small destinations to visit within 20-30 minute drive, do not miss the chance.
Grenada is safe and friendly in general and this part seems to be so in particular. A woman can walk alone along the road and it is common courtesy to offer rides to people (and it is safe to accept them – no payment expected).
The owner has helped us with everything, from buying an initial set of groceries before our arrival, to renting a car, to suggesting trips, etc. etc.
We definitely plan to be back, it is a location I would recommend to anyone. The only thing to note to anyone is that it is a remote, quiet location. If peace is what you want, there is no place better. However if you prefer a busier style of vacation, maybe this is not your thing.
Moonfish was amazing! Kyle and I researched and spent our honeymoon here and wouldn't have had it any other way. It was very secluded, but having Kitty and Russ on the property made us feel very safe and secure. They had an endless suggestion of activities to do, and even arranged for an all natural spa visit and a trip to an island that only had us on it for the entire day! I would suggest Moonfish to anyone. The scenery was absolutely gorgeous and the accommodations were very comfortable. Food was provided for the night we arrived and the next morning. A car was arranged for us to rent, and a ride to St George's whenever we needed it.
I next to never go back to a property or location since there is so much to see and so little time, but I would go back the Moonfish Villas, Bathway Beach and Grenada!
Our family stayed in both the Pelican and Beachcomber for a week and had a holiday that was both fun and relaxing. I can't really think of anything that could have made it better.
The positive experience starts with how easy Kitty was to deal with when we were booking and organizing our vacation. She is quick to respond to inquiries and has great suggestions for things like car rental (MacIntyre's service and cars were excellent), local places to eat, day trips, etc. She and Russ are the perfect hosts; there when you need them and virtually invisible when you don't.
The homes are very clean, nicely decorated, comfortable and perfect for a casual beach holiday getaway when you really don't need or want to spend a lot of time indoors. The kitchens have everything you need to make all meals if you choose to eat in. There are a couple of places to eat within walking distance, Aggie's would be the best, but otherwise you have to drive to get any sort of variety.
The location, homes and hosts are ideal if you are looking for a quiet holiday on a secluded beach. I'd highly recommend (and have already) Moonfish Villas to family and friends.
We wanted the perfect unspoilt beachside location and this is it! Kitty's description and photos of the location and the property were spot on and the Bathway Beach area is truly beautiful. We were welcomed with a basic grocery shop done for us and a meal from a local restaurant, Aggie's, delivered to our door by Kitty as we arrived on Valentine's Day. Kitty also arranged for us to be collected from the airport and a hire car to be delivered to our door the next day, all part of the service. A perfect Caribbean Escape!
Every guide book talks of ‘breathtaking’, ‘unspoilt’, Bathway Beach. This is the heart of authentic, hidden Grenada. Discover historic plantation houses, haunting Carib's Leap and evocative Helvellyn House with its’ famous pottery. Grand Etang National Reserve is just 30 minutes drive away. Within 15 minutes drive are shops and supermarkets and a number of restaurants ranging from the formal to the charming. However, just a few minute’s walk along the beach are 3 ramshackle ‘chicken shacks’ serving freshly caught fish and chicken of course and behind them is the popular Aggie's restaurant. For nature lovers Levera Beach is moments away, a secluded haven for birds and sea turtles, including the giant Leatherback. ‘This is Turtle watching is at it's best!’ Local fishermen will take you fishing or for a day's picnic and snorkelling on Sandy Island (which lies opposite the beach house) where the famous Bounty Chocolate bar adverts were filmed – this truly is ‘A taste of paradise’.
