Close approximation (2 miles) to Beech Mountain Ski Area and great local spots including Fred's General Mercantile. A short 10 minute drive to Sugar Mountain Ski Area so there are multiple options for skiing. 4-5 restaurant options are also on Beech Mountain. The town of Banner Elk is just down the mountain with several shopping and restaurant options.
Comfortable, relaxed cabin-atmosphere to make you feel at home on your vacation.
Owners grew up nearby the North Carolina mountain area. After moving to Atlanta, we have maintained this house in the NC mountains as a vacation get-away. We use this property personally, so we're always interested in keeping it nice or knowing of any suggested updates from renters. We have owned and rented out this property for about 10 years.
Michael Hanley purchased this house in 2004
We prize this house and location due to the close proximity to the ski area, the great summer and winter weather (since Beech Mountain is the highest elevation town east of the Rockies, it often has snow when other local areas don't). The house comfortable can hold large families, which there often aren't many options for on the mountain. The house has a great home feel and the fireplace in the living room is great for spending time with friends and family after a great day of skiing or looking around the mountain area.
We have made renovations to the kitchen and bedrooms and would love to hear any suggestions that you might have!
Lots of snow and activity up in Beech Mountain at this time of year & this house was in a nice spot where our kids could play outside, walk around and other neighbors and houses aren't too crammed in. House had 3 levels, nice large fireplace, and is a getaway. Like a normal cabin, doesn't have huge TV's and technology in every room, but furniture is nice, rooms are spacious and scenery is great.
House needs serious maintance and cleaning...nice fireplace, and setup. Fortunately we all made the best of a bad situation and had a great time in the newly fallen snow.
We really enjoyed our trip. It snowed over 6 inches, so the family had a great time playing in the snow and playing board games. The size of the house was perfect, and the location was as well.
1-2 miles from Beech Mountain Ski Area, 5-10 minutes from Sugar Mountain. Shopping and outlets in Boone. 1 mile from Fred's General Store.
