About Kevin Chick
I grew up in the town next to Coventry and spent a lot of time in the summer at the cottage. Back then it had 5 tiny bedrooms, a half bath, and no TV. Now I live about a half hour away in the city of Hartford and enjoy getting out to the lake in the summer.
Kevin Chick purchased this House in 2009
Why Kevin Chick chose Coventry Lake
This property has been in my family for about 100 years. My great grandfather purchased the land in about 1915 and 3 generations grew up with summers by the lake. In 2009 I inherited the property and completely renovated the house from a rundown cottage that barely had running water to a beautiful lakeside house with all the modern amenities to enjoy peace and serenity that the lake provides. I hope anyone that rents this house enjoys it as much as I do.
What makes this House unique
Enjoy a summer lakeside vacation in historic Coventry Connecticut. Wake up to beautiful views of the water, have your coffee by the lake, swim, relax, venture out to visit the home of Nathan Hale, or visit a local winery.

We stayed at this cottage while visiting our daughter and family who ,live in Storrs. The house is very clean and has a great open first floor.with total views of the lake. The covered porch with a picnic table was great to sit on to eat or have my granddaughters draw or play games. Everyone loved swimming right off the dock. And we did take the two kayaks out. Yes there are stairs but my 8 month pregnant daughter and 3 and 6 year old granddaughters managed them slowly but okay. Our granddaughters loved having a great blue heron land on the dock, have a hummingbird visit often and also some rabbits. Even though there are houses around and the lake close by it was quiet and peaceful for the week we were there. Kevin was easy to reach via email if you have questions. It was a great week.
Great lake house
We rented this house across the lake from where we live in order to accommodate extra family members for a week-long vacation. The house was perfect for us. I highly recommend it.
We had a great week on Coventry lake at Kevin’s home. Beautiful view and everything we needed at the home to make ourselves comfortable! You have to be ready for the climb up and down the stairs to get to the home but this was fine for our family. We would stay again
One Week on Coventry Lake
The house met all our needs for our week on Coventry Lake. The pictures represents the house quite adequately. No surprises and Kevin is right about the stairs down from the parking lot. I asked several questions prior to our arrival and Kevin answered them in a timely manner.
One reason we selected this place was the location to Manchester & East Hartford. We attended a softball tournament. The weather did not cooperate, and we had to leave before the final round. Because of the weather, we did not get into the lake. The water is nice and clear and easy to get into from the cottage's shoreline. There is a public, sandy beach very close to the cottage.
We visited the Slater Memorial Museum in Norwich and Roseland Cottage & Gardens in Woodstock, CT. We ate at several local restaurants and enjoyed each meal. Also, checked out the antique shops in Coventry.
This was a fabulous rental...! It was clean and included many of the supplies I usually have to supply at other rentals. One of the best features is the backyard set up including a covered porch and deck that had both sun and shade. The dock was amazing for those that love water sports, providing enough space for all the gear!
