Overview

South Central Colorado Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bed, 2 Bath with Gameroom & Direct View of Pike's Peak

Bear's Paw Cabin backs up to a National Forest and sits on a heavily wooded lot approximately 5 miles outside the quaint town of Woodland Park. The cabin, built in 1998 and newly remodeled in January of 2013, is the perfect place to relax and forget the worries of the world. If you're looking for the rustic feel of Colorado, this is the place for you. With a cathedral wood ceiling with a wooden beam to the stacked stone fireplace, you'll enjoy the relaxing atmosphere you've anticipated when coming to the mountains. Sit in front of the fireplace and enjoy the everchanging, unobstructed view of Pike's Peak or sit on the upper deck and watch the Colorado wildlife pass through the forest.

We offer two bedrooms and two baths, one on each level.

The entry level has an open concept living/kitchen area, master bedroom and bath and access to the covered deck to enjoy the sunrise over the mountain and various wildlife sightings. The living area offers a leather sofa, recliner and glider with ottoman as well as a stacked stone fireplace with a flat screen tv over a log mantle. Those who opt to use the cook's fully equipped kitchen will enjoy stainless steel appliances and plenty of counterspace. The large bar offers seating for 6. The master bedroom is off the living area and has a king size log bed with a new temperpedic mattress, large closet and adjoining bath with a shower/tub combo.

The lower level, which offers access to the heavily wooded property, offers the second bed and bathroom, full size washer and dryer and the gameroom. The bedroom features a queen size log bed with a Harley Davidson theme. The bathroom is easily accessible from either the bedrooom or gameroom and offers a shower/tub combo. The gameroom offers an arcade-quality air hockey table a 60 in 1 arcade game, an electronic dart board, a 50' LED flat screen tv with a library of dvds, card games and books. The gameroom also includes a leather queen-sized sleeper sofa and matching recliner.

Other amenities include a two car garage with remote, a covered walkway from the garage to the front door, multiple outdoor seating areas, cable tv, wireless high speed internet access and local phone service. We also provide shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Woodland Park offers a hospital, Walmart and grocery stores for any of your personal needs.

Bear's Paw Cabin is available year round. Whether you want to enjoy all the Pike's Peak area has to offer or never leave the coziness of the cabin, we know you'll enjoy staying here as much as we do.

Check out Bears Paw Cabin on Facebook, we run specials on there from time to time and upcoming events. Hope to see you soon....

About Will Richards

We've always loved this area of Colorado and finally decided to get a place of our own up here. We live in the Ft Worth, Texas area where Will is a firefighter.

Will Richards purchased this cabin in 2012

Why Will Richards chose South Central Colorado

We felt this was the perfect property because it was secluded yet just outside of town with an unbelievable mountain view.

What makes this cabin unique

We offer a two car garage with a covered walkway from the garage to the front door.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It's beautiful! The first two evenings we were here it snowed, another beautiful sight.

We cooked out, we cooked in, we played games in the evening. The girls especially liked playing air hockey and darts. We went to Mueller State Park a couple of times and did some hiking.

We have been coming to the Woodland Park area for the last 10 years. We enjoy it so much.

Thank you, Will and Lisa, for sharing your home. Everything was comfortable, made us feel right at home. We look forward to coming back again.

Exactly what we wanted!

  • 5 of 5

Bear's Paw Cabin was the perfect spot for what we were looking for - seclusion, but not isolation, mountain scenery and a comfortable, homey place for our small family to spread out vs the typical hotel room or B&B. The drive from the main road to the cabin was beautiful at every turn and as others have described, you def get the feeling of being up in the mountains, yet you are still close enough to town and other people. The cabin is as described and shown in the pics and what you can't see in the pics is that it is very clean, meticulously maintained and has a great, welcoming vibe. We would definitely consider staying at Bear's Paw Cabin again and do not hesitate recommending it as a great option in the Woodland Park/Pike's Peak region.

My wife and I enjoyed four nights at the Bear Paw. Beautiful scenery and beautiful cabin. The listing was very accurate and Will was very responsive to any questions we had. We would be very happy to stay there again.

It was heavenly!

  • 5 of 5

We planned a vacation and showed up to the hotel we booked and thought would accommodate our family of 6. Unfortunately that wasn't the case, so we began looking online at options and came across this place. It was exactly what we were looking for and more. We were even able to cook home cooked meals and do our laundry (this being something I dread after getting home from vacation) at our pleasure. We had a couple good storms while we were there and lost power. It was only off for 30 to 45 minutes and Will called to check on it for us and also called to follow up the following morning. Very nice people! Our children didn't even want to leave the place to go to attractions because they had so much fun with the games downstairs and exploring the beautiful backyard. My 7 year old daughter referred to the place as "heaven" :) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend checking it out!

Pictures do not do this place justice

Had an absolute amazing time. Did not want to leave. Very well set up. Far enough away from the city to enjoy but not so far that it is inconvenient. Very comfortable home. Will definitely be going back.

Beautiful home everything we wanted and more

  • 4 of 5

The cabin was beautiful and secluded. We had four people in our party and everyone was very comfortable. The basement was wonderful for the kids while the adults had privacy upstairs. We will definitely be staying in this cabin again. Will was wonderful to work with and I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to get away and relax. The view wasn't bad either!
