Plas Arfon Cottage is a family owned rental and part of our family business. The other parts are The Gladstone, our AA 4 star bar/restaurant/boutique hotel with 6 letting rooms, next door to the cottage and The Castle View in Deganwy. This is an award winning bar/restaurant serving traditional & modern food. We have lived in and around North Wales all our lives and have been in the hospitality industry for as long as we can remember. All the children grew up in the industry and as yet can't see that would change. (until the old man retires that is!)
Lance Scally purchased this house in 2000
We all really enjoyed our stay in the cottage. The views were the best we have probably had when we have been on holiday anywhere in the UK. It was a pleasure to eat at the dining table and to look out to the sea.
We ate at The Gladstone on Steak night and the food was excellent, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to people in the area.
As far as the cottage goes, there was everything in there that you could need and more than enough space to accommodate four adults and two young children. The fact that the rear garden was enclosed and secure meant that the children could go outside and we had peace of mind.
A very nice accommodation, quite, clean ,well equipped with an excellent view that made our holiday a 5 star holiday.Thank you for everything !!!
The location is a handy distance from Conwy and the accomodation itself is excellent. The staff next door were friendly and very helpful. The beach is a short walk away over the bypass and the scenery both in front and behind is breathtaking. Everything that we needed was provided for self catering and we even managed a barbecue in October!
We spent five days in Pals Arfon Cottage, using it as a base to explore North Wales, including nearby Conwy, Snowdonia, castles, and the seashore. It was a perfect place to stay with plenty of room for two couples and an ideal location from which to see the area.
The cottage provides absolutely everything that could be needed. The kitchen and dining area were roomy and well equipped.
The views from the house were outstanding - from the dining room, the master suite, and the large upstairs bedroom - we could watch the waves washing into the shore. The upstairs bedroom and bath and the downstairs master suite enabled each couple to have privacy. The small garden was a great place to have a meal or drink at the end of the day - in a sunny place protected from the wind.
Having the Gladstone Hotel next door was great - as it was a good place for dinner.
We would definitely return to Pals Arfon for another stay.
Best family holiday we have had! Superb, high quality house in a prefect location. Hope to return again next year.
Lovely cottage, very spacious with well kept gardens. Set in beautiful surroundings with a lovely view of the sea from the upstairs bedroom balcony and mountain views from the back of the property. Lovely and peaceful area with the Gladstone next door which we used twice and enjoyed some delicious meals. Lance, Chris & the rest of the Gladstone staff were lovely and very helpful and although the pub is very close, we had no problems with noise etc at all. The location was perfect for day trips out as we seemed to be very central to most other towns so very convenient and beautiful Conwy was literally 10 minutes up the road. Being totally honest, the only one thing that we thought could have been better was the smallest bedroom needs a bit of tlc (wallpaper peeling off above one of the beds) to put it on par with the other two larger bedrooms as they were beautiful but that's just down to some redecoration so easily done. Loved our holiday cottage and the location, we didn't want it to end, so much so we have already booked again for next year!
We all had a lovely holiday in North Wales. The Cottage was set in glorious surroundings over looking the sea on one side and mountains on the other. There were lots of lovely places to visit close to the Cottage, with the beach being only a 5-10 minute walk away. The Cottage was very modern, clean and tidy and had all the essential facilities. We visited the Gladstone pub next to the Cottage for a meal one evening and all the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The staff at the Gladstone were also happy to help if we had any queries at the Cottage.
We would definitely stay at the Cottage again in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to holiday in the North of Wales.
