Two months in Waikiki at Jan & Ron's condo was incredible. From the first email to the check out process, Jan & Ron were thorough and attentive owners.
The condo is in a well kept building with security, parking, laundry, and a pool. Plus the views are wonderful all day. Sunrise, sunset, surfers, sailboats and skateboarders. From a well stocked kitchen to a comfortable living area and great wifi, Jan & Ron have a great rental.
The best part is the location, two blocks from Kapiolani Park where you can take yoga classes, surf lessons, have delicious food at the beach cafe and walk to Diamond Head.
We can't wait to go back!
I stayed with my family of 4 at Foster Towers from July 13-27th. When first
entering the unit with the property manager, Vicki, was just finishing
cleaning up the unit. She was having some issues with cleaning up the
range. Looks like the last tenant had damaged the range. I'm not sure what
kind of inspection was done to the rest of the apartment, if she was just
finishing up cleaning. We were allowed to check in early, so it seems that
an exit inspection wasn't done from the previous tenants.
We took pictures of the rest of the apartment, but we didn't think we
needed to try out all the furniture to make sure if it was broken or not?
It was probably the second or third day when we first tried sitting on the
stool and we noticed it was creaking, so we decided not to use it for the
remainder of the stay. There is no way for us to have known it was already
broken, nor did it look broken when leaving. It was sitting up right and
had no signs of being damaged to naked eye.
The property owner is now holding 10% of the security deposit
originally paid, claiming that we damaged his stool we did not!
Another complaint I have is the regarding our stay is the misrepresentation
regarding sleeping arrangements. Even though it shows
there is bedding for up-to 5, bedding was only provided for 3. We had to
have one of guests sleep on a couch, which is not meant for sleeping. The
couch is not a comfortable sleeping arrangement. I believe a 25% refund of
the original payment is fair as I was mislead and so was my family.
Sleeping on a couch for two weeks is very hard on your back!
Upon booking with I had 2 questions for him. 1) What is the bed like? Is it hard or soft with support or without? 2) Can I sit at the table, drink my coffee and enjoy the view? His answers to both were yes you can sit at the table and see the view and that the bed is good. Ok upon arriving the floors had scattered sand on them I could feel it with my bare feet. Then the windows were so hard to open that even his hostess would not open them for us. We almost broke our back and fingernails trying to open the window. Oh this is so very wrong. I booked this place one year in advance. Then the bed was the bed his late Mother slept on. It was 6" thick with plywood in between mattress and box spring with a 3" memory foam topper from Costco. I was so angry it wasn't funny. We had to buy a bow up bed to sleep on because that bed was disgusting. Then as I started looking around there were items under the couch cushions so that hasn't been cleaned in a long time. There was sand there as well. The picture frames hadn't been cleaned for some time and then there was a coating of wax on the bottom of the tub. My husband just about slipped on it. . I had to clean like crazy to get it off. Why was it there and why wasn't it cleaned by his cleaning person???????? Over all I felt dirty in this unit. If I can come up with something positive it would be the kitchen was supplied nicely except for the dishes and that there was no rice cooker. The unit is decorated all wrong and the furniture is arranged poorly. The table was not centered on the pedestal so that was a huge problem when trying to sit there. Blinds were falling off and some weren't there. I would not recommend this property to anyone at all. The owner was hard to deal with. I also made formal complaints with Customer Service VRBO.
This was our first stay at Foster Tower. The condo was as described on the site. It is equipped with everything you need. The elevators are amazingly fast and great security in the building. What was very surprising you do no hear any street noise. I highly recommend this spacious condo if you are planning a trip to Waikiki. Owner is very accommodating.
My husband and I stayed here at Foster Towers right on Waikiki Beach for 6 glorious weeks, this is like such a huge secret special place I don't really want to tell anyone else about it in case it gets too popular but here it goes! We would like to thank you Ron so much for such a lovely stay, Vicky your apartment manager was also wonderful and helpful too. The apartment is spacious with a seperate large bedroom and bathroom, and very large lounge room and kitchen, we checked the ocean out every morning from the lounge room windows as it is so close to the beach, a one minute walk and boom your on the beach! We joined up to the Hawaiin Zoo as this was such a great walk to do and it is also so close to the apartment! There is parking if you rent a car which we did for a few days, the security guard is always there at the front desk so you feel safe there totally, the laundry in the building was terrific! The only negative would be the bed is small and very soft, it would be good to replace the bed! But we would definitely come back again this is such a treasure of an apartment so close to everything, we just absolutely loved it thank you again! kindest regards Heidi and Sean
