Great convenient location
Great location and price for a good basic apartment. Other reviews detail things well, I would stay again without a second thought.
Worked for us
I stay in a lot of VRBO’s so I have high standards. We were just returning from Italy and so we had big suitcases. I missed that this place had 10 steps to basement apartment. So that was tough.
But it was great for sleeping. Dark, quiet, comfortable.
I prefer a tv in bedroom. Not available. I didn’t find wine glasses or cork screw. And I’ve never stayed where only one roll of toilet paper is supplied.
However, Whole Foods is close. Neighborhood is great. Accommodations are really clean.
We enjoyed our stay and would choose again.
Hi! Thanks so much for staying with us! We actually have wine glasses but my guests keep taking them without telling me...lol. Next time please don't be shy and let me know what's missing. We should also have bottle openers, etc. Cleaners check all the time but sometimes miss the details for there are over 200 items that we supply here and there in the apartment and most of the time, my guests just holler out and say hey, you ran out of cups or this and that and we would fix the issue right away. I hope you stay with us again and we'll make it right for you next time so that you're not in the dark. However, next time, let's chat more so that I can make sure your stay is perfect! Cheers! Thanks again! We strive to make it super clean with all professional cleaners and commercial washing of all linens.
Great location and very clean
Very easy access to the train, very close to Whole Foods, Starbucks, etc. Very clean! Only complaint was that we could sometimes hear the upstairs tenants walking around. Other than that, perfect for us!!
Thanks for staying with us! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! We've added even more padding upstairs so hopefully it'll be more quiet next time you come. Cheers!
First night I let the owner know that the shower was not draining and water was going into the bathroom. They sent a plumber and did not tell me so as I was changing the next morning a man was trying to come into the place. I told the plumber to leave and he was very unprofessional and told me he was going to charge them since I wouldn't let him in.
I called the owner and I was scared to death I let them know what happened and that I needed to go since I was on a business call and the owner asked if I would go upstairs to their other property to take my call so that the plumber could come in.
ZERO empathy and didn't even offer any type of discount or refund for this awful incident. Make sure there is a deadbolt on the places I stay from now on since he would have been inside the place if I hadn't noticed him coming down the stairs.
Thanks for staying at our property. It's the most important thing for us to fix your problem and we paid double the amount of money for a plumber to come at a moments notice. You've mentioned you'll be leaving in the morning so I made sure the plumber would be there for you to at least have a shower before you leave and we spent a lot of money for the plumber to come on that day so early. Because you didn't let him do his job, he's charged us another double to come back later that day. We strive for the best service and for your stay, we really tried hard to make you happy. Our guests mean a lot to us and that's why we are highly responsive. I again apologize if you didn't have the best stay after you plugged up the drain. I've texted you prior to the plumber coming and you never gave a response and offered sincere apologies many times. We have no communicated with the plumbing company to knock at least three times over the course of two minutes before entering any property again. That day they said they knocked and no one answered but we have alerted them to give even more time and knock longer so that no one is at a scare. Again, thanks for staying with us and we wish you the best going forward.
Exactly what I expected!
Great location, cozy space. Julie is super responsive and made my stay super easy. The apartment was clean when I arrived and my husband and I had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. So easy and quick to get to the freedom trail, the USS constitution, bunker hill, bus stops, and the subway from here too, highly recommend!
Great neighborhood, clean apartment, terrible noise - bring earplugs
The apartment looked more or less as described. It was clean and that's very appreciated. It's also in a great neighborhood. Close to everything in Boston (easy Uber/Lyft), across the street from Whole Foods, CVS, package store, etc.
The biggest issue for us was the noise from the upstairs apartment. This belongs to the owners (I assume, since it's also available to rent) and I'm pretty sure it actually was the owners stomping throughout their apartment. This started at 7:45 am on Sunday and 6:45 am on Monday. Maybe that's not a big deal to them, but we're on mountain time and took a redeye into Boston. At a minimum, I'd think they could take their shoes off, as they requested we do. This is not insignificant, by the way. You can hear kids running and such, but you can also hear drawers open and closing, the murmur of conversations, etc.
Please know that I say this as the owner of an upper unit vacation rental who spent the money necessary to insulate the subfloor before laying down tile. That's because we didn't want the downstairs neighbor wondering when the cast of Riverdance moved in upstairs.
My only other big complaint is that the rental agreement that was supposed to be sent within a few days of booking didn't come until two weeks before when I asked for it. (Be aware that it does not come through VRBO messenger and doesn't say Boston in the subject line.) By the time it came, it was too late to cancel and book something else. However, I would have if I could have. I was not comfortable providing a scan of my driver's license plus credit card info when all of that info is typically sent through VRBO. I know that the listing said this would be required, but I assumed that would be through VRBO - not through entirely separate communications. For what it's worth, I had already paid a deposit and would have been happy to pay for the insurance had it been required. Sending all of my information outside of VRBO was straight-up sketchy and unnecessary in my opinion.
Finally, there was only one glass, complemented by 3 plastic cups to drink from. Also, guests are not allowed to use the oven. That may appear in the listing, but I don't recall it.
All in all, we enjoyed our trip, but it wasn't because of this apartment.
