The house is beautiful and is very spacious for a family vacation; however, we did run into several issues during our stay. One of the two AC units stopped working and once maintenance came out we were told to just leave it at 70 so that the fan doesn't stop. It got very frigid during the evening hours.
We also found that the second floor bathroom shower was leaking through a kitchen light onto the counter. We called maintenance back out and apparently the issue had been going on for some time, but isn't due to be fixed for a few weeks.
We also found black mold in the master bedroom closet walls.
The table on the deck had two broken legs.
And some of the boards around the deck were coming up which was a tripping hazard.
I was disappointed in the amount of money that we spent at how much work this house needed. The maintenance crew was VERY nice and easy to work with, but many of the issues needed more than just a small repair.
If these items were addressed, it would be well worth every penny.
We stayed from June 11 through 18, 2016. 11 people total stayed in the house over night but we hosted 26 total several days and evenings with no problem. Kitchen had adequate space - enough for three people to prepare food at the same time. Kitchen appliances were in good working order and there were plenty of utensils.
Master bedroom and bath was spacious. The secondary bedrooms were decent size as well. Third floor had several twin beds and a pullout couch. There was also room for a twin blowup mattress.
The entire third floor and secondary bedrooms shared a small bathroom on the second floor which created a challenge for folks staying in those rooms. Of course, the house has a 3/4 bath behind the kitchen on the first floor which kept people happy (just a little inconvenient).
The house sits on Draper Lake and has a private dock. Very useful for folks that bring or rent a kayak and/or paddle board. Allows you to paddle to the other side of the dune to access the surf rather than dragging them up and down a boardwalk. It also is a good fishing spot for kids as well as those with more experience.
Lots of porch space on the first and second floors.
Overall, the place is nice and located in a good area. I scored good only because of the bathroom situation on the 2nd floor.
We stayed in Eagle's Landing last summer and just came on the website to book it again! On the lake AND close to the beach you get great views in every direction. This was the perfect size for our family and we all loved the private dock. Can't wait for the summer!
