About the property

3 Bedroom/2.5 Bath. Great In-town Location On Quiet Street.

Vacation in this newer 3 bedroom/2.5 bath home. Enjoy the amenities of a new home, surrounded by the quaintness of old town Lewes. The house is located on a quiet street, just one block from the Historic District and Ship Carpenter Square. It is a short walk, past historical houses and beautiful gardens, to the great restaurants and quaint shops on 2nd Street, and to Canalfront Park.

The indoor spaces are comfortable, inviting and spacious, with a large open great room, private sitting room, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and powder room. French doors and the many windows bring in lots of light and allow breezes to flow through on days you want to skip the AC. But, your favorite spot will undoubtedly be the large screened porch overlooking the private yard and garden...perfect for morning coffee, happy hour, a good book, or relaxing with family and friends.

Once you are in Lewes, you never have to venture out on to Route 1. Relax on the beach...just an easy mile bike ride is beautiful Lewes Beach on the bay, or go an extra mile and a half beyond that to Cape Henlopen Park. Here, miles of pristine Atlantic beach stretch from the Cape to Rehoboth. Explore the many bike paths and hiking trails in the park. Kayak in the Canal or Bay. Bike the Junction and Breakwater trail to Rehoboth. Take the kids to the playground or play tennis in Canalfront Park. And, of course, dining and shopping in town. If you do want to venture out, Lewes is short drive to great outlet shopping, golf, Rehoboth Beach and other amenities.

The living spaces...

On the first floor, enjoy the openness of the living area, with a comfy sectional sofa, fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo/CD/iPod player, and a space perfect for games or puzzles. Enjoy cooking in the spacious, well stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters and an island with seating for 3. The dining room offers seating for 8 at a large table.

Two sets of french doors bring the outside in, and open these rooms to a large screened porch overlooking the private back yard. It is perfect for relaxing or entertaining with ample seating and a dining table.

Also on the first floor is a powder room and small sitting room with another TV and DVD player. This room is great if the kids want to watch something different or the guys want to watch the game. Plus, the convertable sofa in this room can be used as an additional bed.

Bedroom & Bathrooms

The bedrooms are on the second floor, and all have new, comfortable mattresses. The large Master Suite with a cathedral ceiling, has a queen bed, TV and sitting area. The private master bath contains a shower and large vanity. The other two bedrooms share a hall bath, also with a shower and large vanity. The Sunflower Room, with a set of twins beds, has two closets and a window seat...perfect for sharing, and the Paisley Room is roomy with a queen bed.

Also on the second floor, is the laundry with extra large capacity washer and dryer, and a small sitting area to escape for some time to yourself.

A private outdoor shower is adjacent to the screened porch, perfect for a hot shower after a day at the beach.

About Karin Giacomini

I have been coming to the Delaware Beaches since I was in my twenties. Bike rides often brought me to Lewes during that time. With each visit, I fell in love a little more, and knew it is where I wanted to be. Lewes is quiet, quaint and historic, with great beaches and beautiful natural areas.

Wonderful time in Lewes

  • 5 of 5

Our stay in Lewes was wonderful. The three bedrooms upstairs accommodated our 3 couples perfectly. I stayed in the master bedroom and slept like a baby. The living room was relaxing and comfortable and had just enough cough space for us all us! We had the fire on almost the whole time. We didn't get to use the porch because of the weather but it made us really want to come back during warmer weather! The puzzles were great. We assembled one and started on another. The house was an easy walk into town. We didn't use our cars the entire time. So many cute shops and restaurants in town. Our stay just couldn't have been better. We're already planning our next trip!

Exceeds the expectations raised in the advertisement; pictures do not do it justice.

Wonderful, and warm with tasteful furnishings; all the conveniences provided; location is excellent, and Lewes is a well-kept secret: quiet, quaint, friendly, beautiful, and providing so many possible activities - even in frigid weather.

Everything we could have asked for in a vacation home

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (two adults, two children ages 4 and 1) enjoyed a wonderful week here last August. While the photos were very representative of the property, we were blown away when we walked in the front door! The house is incredibly airy, spacious, and in pristine condition. It provided a wonderfully comfortable place for us to relax when we weren't out enjoying the beautiful beaches. The house is located in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, just a short walk from all the shops and restaurants in the historic downtown district. The owner was lovely to work with, and we cannot wait to return!

Fantastic home with great layout

  • 5 of 5

Our group of two families with kids stayed in this home for a winter getaway. Everything was pristine and we found it incredibly relaxing. The large and high-end kitchen, with open layout to dining room and living room, worked wonderfully for meals and relaxing together. We especially appreciated the easy gas fireplace given the winter chill. The bedrooms were well-equipped, with lots of extra blankets available if needed. We always stay in this neighborhood of Lewes and appreciate the easy walking proximity to downtown and the historical sites.
