About the property

3 Bedroom/2.5 Bath. Great In-town Location On Quiet Street.

Vacation in this new 3 bedroom/2.5 bath home. Enjoy the amenities of a new home, surrounded by the quaintness of old town Lewes. The house is located on a quiet street, just one block from the Historic District and Ship Carpenter Square. It is a short walk, past historical houses and beautiful gardens, to the great restaurants and quaint shops on 2nd Street, and to Canalfront Park.

The indoor spaces are comfortable, inviting and spacious, with a large open great room, private sitting room, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and powder room. French doors and the many windows bring in lots of light and allow breezes to flow through on days you want to skip the AC. But, your favorite spot will undoubtedly be the large screened porch overlooking the private yard and garden...perfect for morning coffee, happy hour, a good book, or relaxing with family and friends.

Once you are in Lewes, you never have to venture out on to Route 1. Relax on the beach...just an easy mile bike ride is beautiful Lewes Beach on the bay, or go an extra mile and a half beyond that to Cape Henlopen Park. Here, miles of pristine Atlantic beach stretch from the Cape to Rehoboth. Explore the many bike paths and hiking trails in the park. Kayak in the Canal or Bay. Bike the Junction and Breakwater trail to Rehoboth. Take the kids to the playground or play tennis in Canalfront Park. And, of course, dining and shopping in town. If you do want to venture out, Lewes is short drive to great outlet shopping, golf, Rehoboth Beach and other amenities.

The living spaces...

On the first floor, enjoy the openness of the living area, with a comfy sectional sofa, fireplace, flat screen TV, DVD player, stereo/CD/iPod player, and a space perfect for games or puzzles. Enjoy cooking in the spacious, well stocked kitchen with stainless appliances, granite counters and an island with seating for 3. The dining room offers seating for 8 at a large table.

Two sets of french doors bring the outside in, and open these rooms to a large screened porch overlooking the private back yard. It is perfect for relaxing or entertaining with ample seating and a dining table.

Also on the first floor is a powder room and small sitting room with another TV and DVD player. This room is great if the kids want to watch something different or the guys want to watch the game. Plus, the convertable sofa in this room can be used as an additional bed.

Bedroom & Bathrooms

The bedrooms are on the second floor, and all have new, comfortable mattresses. The large Master Suite with a cathedral ceiling, has a queen bed, TV and sitting area. The private master bath contains a shower and large vanity. The other two bedrooms share a hall bath, also with a shower and large vanity. The Sunflower Room, with a set of twins beds, has two closets and a window seat...perfect for sharing, and the Paisley Room is roomy with a queen bed.

Also on the second floor, is the laundry with extra large capacity washer and dryer, and a small sitting area to escape for some time to yourself.

A private outdoor shower is adjacent to the screened porch, perfect for a hot shower after a day at the beach.

About Karin Giacomini

I have been coming to the Delaware Beaches since I was in my twenties. Bike rides often brought me to Lewes during that time. With each visit, I fell in love a little more, and knew it is where I wanted to be. Lewes is quiet, quaint and historic, with great beaches and beautiful natural areas.

Fantastic home with great layout

  • 5 of 5

Our group of two families with kids stayed in this home for a winter getaway. Everything was pristine and we found it incredibly relaxing. The large and high-end kitchen, with open layout to dining room and living room, worked wonderfully for meals and relaxing together. We especially appreciated the easy gas fireplace given the winter chill. The bedrooms were well-equipped, with lots of extra blankets available if needed. We always stay in this neighborhood of Lewes and appreciate the easy walking proximity to downtown and the historical sites.

A December Delight

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I along with our son, his wife and their two young children stayed at this house in December. We had a wonderful stay and absolutely loved the fireplace in the living room. The enclosed porch is also delightful and provides additional visiting space. The house was very clean and renter-friendly. The owner provided easily readable general instructions, as well as instructions pertinent to specific appliances such as the television. The location afforded us easy access to attractions in Lewes (such as a visit with Santa), as well as shopping and a winter's day visit to the beach. We would certainly stay at this location again and would highly recommend it to others.

Charming, updated home in quiet neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

We rented this property for a girls' weekend and it couldn't have been more perfect. The house itself was very spacious and comfortable. Everything was updated and beautifully decorated. The location of the house was perfect. It was quiet in the neighborhood, but close enough to walk anywhere in town. We had a great weekend here!

Mother/Daughter get away!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect setting for a beautiful fall weekend to celebrate my mother and reconnect as sisters. House was well stocked with every amenity to cook everything from brunch to fresh brewed coffee, enjoyed on the back porch wrapped in blankets. Our nights were filled with laughter, wine and memories with the fireplace taking the chill out of the air. We even had a great walk on the deserted beach on an unseasonably warm November day. The house is perfect and layed out well out for entertaining, within easy walking distance to parks and shopping and great restaurants. The owner was most responsive throughout our rental process. We will most definitely rent again soon!

Great time

  • 5 of 5

This house is really perfect for a family looking for a relaxing vacation. House is on a very quiet street with a park nearby and a short walk to all of the restaurants and shops in downtown Lewes. We were there for a lacrosse tournament and the location was perfectly situated for getting to the games easily. The kitchen was clearly stocked by someone who likes to cook and had everything necessary for making a meal, something that is often overlooked in vacation rentals. The only drawback was travel to and from Rehoboth was sometimes difficult, but we were really satisfied to stay in Lewes the bulk of the time.
