About Chris B

I have been going to Mammoth since I was a teenager.

It is my home away from home.

Not sure if I like winter or summers better!

In the winter, it's nice just sitting in the living room doing absolutely nothing but watching the skiers and snowboarders track down the mountain. In the summer, I can't wait to hit a golf ball or go hiking or biking on endless trails.

Why Chris B chose Mammoth Lakes

This 4 bedroom property is located near the entrance to Canyon Lodge Parking lot. There is only one common wall (to the unit next door) so it feels more like a cabin than a townhome.

Walk outside and all you will see are trees because this backs up to the National Forest. Perfect place to build a snowman, throw snowballs, or sled.

If you like bird watching, I have seen 5 varieties fly down and sit on my balcony railing. (Of course, it helps that I am feeding them peanuts.)

snow snow snow

Did I mention Mammoth has snow? WOW!

This property was home as soon as we set down our bags on arrival. The driveway up the last hill could present a challenge without chains, 4 wheel drive, or an all wheel heavy SUV. I drive a Denali and had no problem even though the ice was thick on the steep hill.

The condo does sit up on a substantial rise and the climb back up after skiing did not appeal to us so we choose to drive down and park at Canyon Lodge. We lucked out on a parking spot the first day and the following days we paid for a premium spot up front. Worth the $25 they charge.

The condo itself was fine. I loved the location. I love that my two dogs were welcome. Word of caution, there are coyotes around so watch your dogs closely.

Snow plowing of parking area and shoveling of walkway into condo was prompt. They were there with salt for the ice by steps as well.

Great place to stay.

Just what our family needed

We plan to make this A+ property our destination every year!

The kitchen had everything we needed and the views were outstanding!

It was roomy and comfortable too.

We particularily liked having the forest right behind us

because not only was it quiet, but our kids could play in the snow and sled. They wore themselves out every day! We will be back !!

Fabulous cabin in an even more fab location!

This place could not have been nicer. Gorgeous kitchen, lots of windows and views, easy parking, very close to the slopes, and very comfortable beds. What more could you want? A relative who owns a place like this and let's you stay for free. Haha. The owner was SUPER HELPFUL and a pleasure to work with. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful home. Fabulous view. Incredible location.

Not the first time we've stayed here. We love this comfortable family home situated right across the street from the slopes and Canyon Lodge. Once you're here, there's no need for a car because you can walk to just about everything. Open floor plan with plenty of room for family gatherings. We invited other visiting families to join us for dinner and game night and had the best time playing Pictionary. We never felt crowded. Well appointed kitchen and amenities. The complex also offers a huge game room with ping pong and foosball and a hot tub The kids used owner supplied sleds on nearby hills. We walked to the slopes in the morning and later to the Village for meals and entertainment. Pet friendly. The only thing to be aware of is the steep hill up to the parking. If you don't have 4WD, it can be a challenge in the winter unless you can find parking at the bottom of the hill. The loveliest owners you could possibly ask for. We would definitely stay here again!!!

Property was pretty much exactly as described. I think for the price, the property is a great value. The walk back from the slopes is a bit tougher than I would have guessed mainly due to the number of stairs that need to be climbed. The ski back option is cool, but a portion must be walked by snowboarders even with plenty of snow on the ground. We had 6 adults, 4 kids and a dog in the condo and we never felt cramped. Plenty of room. We really appreciated the number of snow sleds available and used them right behind the properties tennis courts. Perhaps most importantly is that the owner was a true pleasure to work with. She cared that we had a nice stay and was the friendliest and most responsive person I have dealt with on VRBO. I like giving good people my business and the owner of this place is a good person. Thanks for a great stay!

Great Vacation Getaway

Wonderful Vacation Getaway! Minutes away from the slopes & front facing view of the mountains when you first walk into the door. The space is comfortable for a large family. The accommodations of the home made it quite convenient for us to enjoy a week of skiing. The lodge provides access to a heated Jacuzzi that we took advantage of after a long day on the slopes. We enjoyed our stay and hope to be back.

Can't beat the A++ location! Watch skiers and boarders come down the mountain from the living and dining rooms!

This updated 4 bedroom property is a 5 - 7 min walk to the lifts or pick up the shuttle in front of the managers office. It also backs up to the National forest so there is plenty of room to play and sled.

You can also ski or board to w/in 100 yards of our front door via Village Ski-Back Trail.

If you don't want to ski, you can walk over to to Canyon Lodge and take the Gondola down to the Village and have lunch or shop.

Property also offers WIFI and a Smart TV - plus there is a recreation room near the managers office that has WIFI, ping pong, flat screen TV, sauna and ten person jacuzzi!
