Pacific Grove House Rental Photos and Description

Three Bedroom (Four Beds), Two Bath Home for Up to 5 Guests.

This beautiful three story, recently remodeled Victorian home (originally built in 1902) transports you back to the 19th century while providing all the amenities and comforts of the 21st.

The Historic Lavender House is centrally located on a quiet, peaceful street in Pacific Grove's historic Retreat District. No need to drive, the finest restaurants and shops in downtown Pacific Grove are just down the street and Monterey Bay’s world famous Aquarium and Lover's Point are only a brief stroll away. For the kids, there is the family-friendly Caledonia Park right around the corner.

Lover's Point and the newly renovated Beach House restaurant is just a short stroll away. The Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links and the Point Pinos Lighthouse are located immediately to the north, the Asilomar Conference Grounds and State Beach are found just as easily to the west, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Cannery Row, and Fisherman’s Wharf are located one-half mile to the south. 17 Mile Drive and Pebble Beach are just around the corner, Monterey’s historic downtown district, Carmel’s world-famous shopping, and the Pebble Beach golf links are all within a few minutes drive. Carmel Valley, Point Lobos State Reserve, and Big Sur are all an easy drive south, providing your friends and family with stunning vistas along California’s most beautiful coastal highway.

The Historic Lavender House accommodates up to 5 guests and has three bedrooms offering high quality 'Sleep Number' beds. The two primary bedrooms each offer queen beds and the loft bedroom provides one twin day bed and one trundle bed. The second floor deck opens out to soothing views of Pacific Grove and Monterey Bay. The third floor loft offers even grander vistas of the surrounding area.

The living room includes a High Definition Flat Panel TV, Tivo DVR, Netflix, Pandora, and a Blu-Ray player (along with a library of movies for your viewing). Wireless high-speed Internet access is available throughout, and the kitchen is fully stocked and outfitted with modern appliances, cooking utensils, plates, glasses and silverware. A high-capacity washer and dryer is available for your use, as is the attached single car garage.

You are likely to see deer passing by your front porch in the early morning hours or catch a glimpse of seals and otters during your stroll to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Walk, run, or bicycle along the coastal bike trail as you make your way to Cannery Row or downtown historic Monterey. Championship golf, whale-watching, hiking, biking, wine-tasting, shopping, dining, kayaking, first-class spas, breath-taking nature… it’s all here waiting for you!

Step back to a slower time. Combine the comforts of the present while experiencing the craftsmanship of the past by staying at the Historic Lavender House, the most beautiful Victorian in Pacific Grove.

Why Terry Winston chose Central Coast California

The Historic Lavender House is a charming and comfortable Victorian very close to downtown Pacific Grove and surrounding attractions.

What makes this house unique

Enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on the sunny front porch, or take a short stroll downtown to the local bookstores and coffee shops! Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

  • 5 of 5

The four of us (2 couples) had the pleasure of staying at Terry Winston's Lavender House in Pacific Grove. This was our first time at Lavender House, a very comfortable Victorian home that provided close walking distance to several of our favorite restaurants (five minute walk!) and to the beautiful coastline. Throughout our five night stay we appreciated the quiet surroundings, sleep-number beds, well stocked kitchen, and off-street parking for our two cars. Really, there was nothing lacking and Terry has done a great job ensuring that her guests are comfortable.

Perfect PG home!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in this wonderful home and loved it. Everything you want in PG is an easy walk away, while your car is safely tucked away in the garage. The house is fully stocked with wonderful lavender toiletries and the kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook - dishes, pans, spices, coffee and teas . . . this was definitely the best rental we have ever stayed in.

Do be aware that the stairs are steep, if that matters to you. Otherwise, I would be ready to move in and never leave.

Thank you, Terry, for a great stay!

Wonderful Home-Away-from-Home

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful time at the Lavender House! It was so clean, well maintained, organized and well appointed with all the things we needed and more. Terry left us with perfect instructions and information. Close to walk to the beach, town, park for the kids, etc. It worked out so well for us. We will definitely be back!

Truly Amazing House!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, myself, my 21 year old son and his girlfriend went out to the Monterey area to visit my 24 year son who is in the Navy and stationed at the DLI in Monterey. As there were 5 of us we needed more than just a hotel room or multiple hotel rooms. We decided on the Lavender House after seeing the beautiful pictures of the house and reading all the five star reviews. We were not disappointed at all! The house is amazing - it was immaculate and the attention to detail was unbelievable. The historic charm of the house was in tact from the "pull chain" toilet handle to the "push button" light switches. The house has at least three beautiful stained glass windows and a claw foot tub. The owner has put so many special touches into everything in the house that you feel like you aren't staying in a vacation rental home. The bathrooms were stocked with lotions and shampoos. The fridge was stocked with coffee, cream, real maple syrup and boxes of specialty teas. There was pancake mix, spices and all the pans, cooking utensils, bowls, etc. that you could ask for. The two bedrooms, unique loft area and two full bathrooms were perfect for a party of five people. The mattresses are all "sleep number" mattresses, the linens and towels are all top, top quality and there are the most luxurious bathrobes in all three bedrooms. My 21 year old wore his bathrobe whenever we were at the house hanging out. The owner provided a grill and I was able to cook real "home-cooked" meals for my son in the military - his first home-cooked meals since Christmas!! We enjoyed quite a few nights around the kitchen table, eating, drinking wine and laughing! The house is centrally located allowing us to walk around the Pacific Grove and Monterey area. We truly had a very, very special family vacation which was made possible by staying in this wonderful home! If you are vacationing in this area I would highly recommend renting the Historic Lavender House!

Fantastic Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

This is the best VRBO we have stayed in anywhere in the U.S. It is beautifully renovated and as clean as can be. Everything was perfect. And the best part, you can walk one block to the main street and three blocks to the ocean. Fantastic!

This is the place!

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to stay. It has everything you could want. It is 100+ -year-old house that has been is fully remodeled with strong attention to detail. It could have been built yesterday based on its quality. The kitchen was fully stock with condiments, spices, hot chocolate, tea, and coffee. Apart from food, there was nothing we had to buy. The mattresses are new and comfortable. The house is centrally located and within walking distance of most anything you would like to see. The setting is quiet and Terry, the owner, was attentive and accommodating. The house is on a quiet street that provided for a great nights sleep. One tip; if you decide to go to the Monterey Aquarium, purchase the passes that come with the house. These are membership passes that allow you to skip the lines and go directly to the membership window for entry. I would recommend this house to anyone although there are stairs to all of the bedrooms if someone has ambulation problems. If you're looking for a place to stay, this is it.
