Located on a quiet street, this single story, 2,000 sq ft home is newly redone in an earthy ranch-like decor. Secluded, sunny, inviting with character; it is a place to mingle and build friendships. Every room looks out on a garden of fruit trees, flowers, and lawn, giving each bedroom its own private, secluded feel. With new stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, open cathedral ceiling, large dining/living room, large open kitchen, and two fireplaces this place is made for mingling and relaxing. The artisan dining table can seat 10. The backyard has a BBQ grill and hot tub. The sweeping lawn is made for fun with provided croquet, badminton, bocci ball, horseshoes, even gunny sacks for those energetic races. A favorite game is to count the stars as they emerge, while soaking in the hot tub with that glass of wine. Although near the sleepy town of Santa Ynez this home is in a quiet, private setting.
I've built an Egg Donor business that takes me to South Africa, India, Mexico and Barbados. It brings me a lot of happiness, as it does those I serve. It is run from wherever I have internet.
Robin Newman purchased this house in 2010
Born and raised in Montecito, California it out grew my love of small towns in beautiful settings with excellent weather. In 2007 I bought this home in Santa Ynez 30 minutes away. I love living in this vineyard and ranching valley. Now living with the man of my life on his Ranch not far away, I offer my home to you. I am certain you will relax and immerse yourself here as I have.
Hi Robin, We stayed at your other lovely home Country Garden Cottage, last year. It was unavailable this weekend and want to tell you we're here and settling in to your beautiful new home Country Comfort Cottage. The great news is that we love it here. The bad news (for you) is that we're not leaving!! E.V.E.R. :)
We'll check back later, but wanted you to know all is well.
First time to CA. Was there for a family wedding. Beautiful Home. Very quite neighborhood. Backyard was nice & relaxing for a glass of wine. They had a hot tub, but was too busy to use. We stayed 6 nights and was concerned that there was no washer/dryer. They were in the garage and the owner came immediately too open up for access. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen with the island was perfect for our gatherings. The home is centrally located to Los Olivos and Santa Ynez and also not far from Santa Barbara. Unfortunately, I had to go and fracture my wrists. Not one, but both! Fortunately, Santa Ynez had a nice ER only 5 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this home.
Excellent property: well equipped, beautiful landscaping, experienced owner, comfortable, clean. There with family for a wedding.
We were a group of girls meeting up for a celebration going for wine tasting in Los Olivos! The house was beautiful with a big kitchen/ common room which was perfect for us. Also big back yard with a wonderful hot tub perfect for relaxation after a busy day.
We stayed here with two other couples for the Solvang Century ride. The home has a large entertaining area with a nice kitchen and giant island - perfect for dinner parties up to 8. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The hot tub was incredible after riding our bikes 100 miles. I could go on, but suffice it to say that we'd highly recommend this house for a trip to Solvang. We hope to be back!
We stayed here with three families for a weekend. The girls enjoyed a wine tasting excursion and we all enjoyed cooking a gourmet meal in the kitchen for the birthday girl. There was plenty of space for all of the kids in the separate den. We really enjoyed our stay and felt right at home in the comfort of this beautiful house. We would gladly stay here again.
We stayed here for the whole week of Thanksgiving 2013. The house is lovely and in a great location. There were a few things that stood out as missing in action: one blanket for 3 bedrooms and a fold out couch (brrrrr), we called the owner and got 2 more and our friends brought up comforters, 1 set of towels/wash cloth per person for a week, no towels for the hot tub, we called the owner and 3 days later got access to the washer/dryer, there are exactly 8 of everything so lots of dish washing, really heavy large dishes too, only wine glasses, no small bowls of any kind (we used the mugs for everything), curtains that do not reach the edges of the windows/glass doors and are thin so light comes streaming in everywhere when the sun comes up, no extra pillows, no hand soap for sinks. The good is that the location is great, beds comfy, good wifi and tv. Great El Rancho market close by! (try their pies!!) We had to buy and bring some things for our own comfort but still loved the house and the town.

Many wineries nearby, great biking, and horses for rent too. This home is most often rented for Girls Weekends, Family Reunions and housing a wedding party as the the local wineries have beautiful wedding sites. Gainey Vineyard is one mile away. Wine tasting just 10 minute walk. Los Olivos or Solvang is a 5 minute drive. We have several golf courses in our area 18 hole and are located in the Santa Ynez Valley. Lake Cachuma is located just 7 miles south. This 6 mile long lake has a shoreline that stretches 42 miles for great bass, crappie and trout fishing. Rent a row boat, kayak, or paddle boat and spend the day enjoying one of America’s most beautiful lake settings. Want more?
