Our cabin is our family jewel, a place to relax and get away from the city. We are just off the ski hill at Summit East ski area (Hyak) at Snoqualmie Pass. Walk to the hill or enjoy three other areas, Summit Central, Summit West, or Alpental, within a five minute drive.
After skiing, hiking, biking or golfing enjoy a beautiful dry sauna, or enjoy time relaxing, listening to music on the deck or in front of the fire.
Just 25 minutes away is Suncadia; a world-class resort with fine restaurants, and the Swiftwater Winery. Golfers will love the Prospector course designed by Arnold Palmer, the Rope Rider course designed by Peter Jacobson and Tumble Creek the private course designed by Tom Doak. You may also enjoy winter activities at Suncadia like cross country skiing and ice skating.
We have four bedrooms; four with queen beds. There are two full-baths and a half-bath.
We love to cook so the kitchen is fully equipped and ready for your family. The big downside is we do NOT have a dining room. So with a lot of people meals can be crowded.
The sauna and mud room are downstairs giving you a clean and comfortable space to store gear and warm up after a hard day on the slopes. There is also a space downstairs for kids to escape to watch movies away from the adult area upstairs. A full laundry room is also downstairs. There is an office upstairs with a double bed as well.
You can expect a clean nice home with beautiful views, privacy and peace. You will have access to four ski areas, great hiking, biking and golfing.
Our cabin is unique because it is so close to the city of Seattle, yet so far away.
We are a Dad and two daughters who love to travel and meet new people. We love skiing, golfing, hiking and biking. We also love the beach and look forward to adventures as a family and on our own. VRBO and Home Away will help us meet new people and explore new places in the world. We will be respectful guests and will expect the same as hosts.
Rick Jewett purchased this cabin in 1994
We bought this weekend get-away because it is 55-minutes from Seattle yet so far away. In the winter the snow is light therapy from the rain in Seattle and in the Summer the mountains are beautiful to explore.
Peace and Quite!
Rick was a fantastic host, checking in throughout the reservation process to make sure our stay was great. The cabin was just wonderful, full of everything you'd need for a comfortable and fun stay. This is a great place for a family or group of friends to enjoy the Summit. I would love to come back! I highly recommend both Rick and this lovely cabin.
The cabin at Snoqualmie was exactly what we needed! The home is authentic, complete with a real wood stove and a spa sized sauna. It was clean and well maintained.
My husband's sisters and their families stayed in each of the rooms and we all had plenty of space! We had a great time playing music from the collection of CD's, complete with the classics. There's nothing like jumping around and rocking out to Michael Jackson with three generations of family! It really felt like home. We also played with the various board games already in the home which provided endless hours of laughter. During the day, we ventured out to look for a place to sled, but they were fully booked at the sledding slopes nearby, so we decided to build our own sledding hill right on the property. The kids (and grown ups) spent hours playing out in the snow, while others stayed inside and sipped on hot chocolate and watched from the large windows in the living room.
At first, I was concerned that we wouldn't have any reception and would be disconnected but there was wifi and therefore, alternative ways to call out. In the end, we didn't want to leave! We actually asked the owner, Rick, to let us check out late and he responded quickly and graciously let us stay an extra few hours!
Rick, thank you for opening up your beautiful home to our family so we could build lasting memories! 😊
This accommodation was really amazing. You can tell it was furnished with love - the photos, the down comforters, the general furnishings, the amazing kitchen, the detailed instructions on how to work the sauna, wood stove, etc. (including pet problems like the timer on the sauna tending to "stick" - how endearing!)
However, I'm not sure if something happened suddenly and personally to his cleaner/caretaker but there were footprints left in the house, there wasn't any newspaper/wood chips for the wood stove and the previous occupant's ashes at the bottom of the wood stove weren't cleaned out (it was the perfect weather for a beautiful fire!), we had to change many light bulbs (lucky there were lots of spares!!), and there was a little trash scattered on the balcony. It was disappointing at first, not to mention the scary thought of someone having illegally inhabited maybe?? And I really didn't want to clean things up although I ended up doing so - it felt so much better after that, and THEN our vacation could finally start!! All I can say is that perhaps Rick needs someone who loves his vacation home the way he does. But again, Rick was responsive and communicative since our first/initial inquiry, he tried his best to rectify the above issues, it was a lovely place to stay (in the end) and my parents who were visiting, my husband, myself and my kids had a great and wonderful time!
Our stay was fantastic. The house was wonderful and really felt like a treat. Thanks so much!
Convenient location for Snoqualmie, just up the hill from the East parking lot shuttle pickup. Spacious bedrooms and living room, with tall ceiling. No formal dining room, but plenty of space for 8+ to be together. Kitchen stocked with the basics for easy meal prep. Bonus basement floor is handy for all your wet ski gear. Driveway can be tricky to get in and out of, especially with lots of snow. Would highly recommend to any group looking for a weekend of ski fun. We've stayed here twice. Owner very helpful and responsive!
We booked this at the last minute for an event in Kirkland. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful.
The unit has everything we needed for a week's stay - bedding, towels, laundry kitchen stuff, a grill with charcoal, even a leftover cold one in the fridge waiting. It was clean and comfortable.
Great location. We enjoyed numerous mountain hikes in the mornings and evenings on our trips back and forth to Kirkland, about a 45 minute without traffic. There is a lot to do on-the-way and nearby.
I highly recommend this unit.
The place was great and located right where we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and allow us the enjoy the beauty of Washington. We could not have asked for anything more
One thing that might help if the check out process. What do we as guests in you home should we do to keep you home as inviting for the future.
