We had a blast! It was clean, stayed in the shower for an hour, loved the fireplace, cuddled in the comfy bed, watched Redbox, cooked a candlelight breakfast, and loved having the adult only indoor pool all to ourselves!
Did not love the front trying to suck us into presentations more than once, even calling the room too! But other than that, it was a perfect get away!
Really appreciated the late check out so we could sleep in and enjoy our time away from our kids longer! Owner was great to accommodate us that way, as well as loved that we did not have to pay a huge deposit! The main reason we chose this place actually!!! We will be back for sure!!! The price is affordable for what you get! Thank you for that!!
Wanted to go skiing over MLK weekend and chose Park City/Canyons, since I have never been there and could go skiing on the day of arrival. Arrived early from the airport and the room wasn't ready, but we knew that this would be the case. Staff was friendly and accommodating, including letting us get fitted for our rental skis in the lobby. They stored our bags while we went skiing. The facility is great and appears first class with the stone floor, antler chandelier, big stone fireplace, and timber beams. The only (very) minor downside was finding out that this was a timeshare site and they tried to get us to sit in on one of their sales pitches. We actually would have done it for the dining coupons, but couldn't fit it in our schedule. This is NOT a reflection of the rental agency, as this is a private condo that they manage, but the building is a timeshare resort.
When we got back from skiing, we were directed to our room. I should mention that the Westgate is a pretty nice set up. It is pretty close to the Gondola up the mountain (not to the village from the parking lot - the cabriolet). Only a short walk to the gondola, but guess what? The Westgate will bring your skis there for you and pick them up at the end of the day and then take them to the storage area. All you have to call the storage area and let them know you want your skis, walk over to the gondola and pick up your skis from the friendly ski valet.
The hotel set up actually is a set of buildings that are linked together with a weird and slightly confusing hallway system, mainly because you need to figure out which floor you have to be on to deal with your skis, get out to the main ski village center, etc.
When we got to the room, we were really surprised and happy. It really is quite a bit bigger than it appears in the pictures. A generous living room with gas fireplace, kitchenette, incl dishwasher and clothes washer/dryer. The bathroom is nice with a steam shower, which we didn't use. Finally, the bedroom was great. Bigger than expected and with a nice jacuzzi tub. That was a little awkward to have a tub IN the bedroom, but my girlfriend and I found it to be great and enjoyed it fully. Totally relaxing after each day of hard skiing. We are flatlands from Minneapolis, but pushed ourselves hard, continuously going down all the black and double black mogul runs. The jacuzzi was great for our sore muscles.
The whole vacation, property, ski runs, food and service was excellent. The only thing was we did not get enough snow! Very convenient. They drive you everywhere in the city and pick you up anytime you want. Even though we rented a car, you don't really need it. Our car stayed in the garage untouched until it was time to leave.
We stayed in two units rented by this owner who went out of their way to accommodate us, with a last minute reservation during a busy holiday weekend. The property itself was beautiful and convenient to everything we were interested in, skiing, eating, working out and relaxing. Just a great experience all round, and we'd deal with them first when renting again in the Salt Lake area.
