2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Beachfront Condo
Dauphin Island has one main road, miles of untouched beaches, and not a high-rise in sight. You can ride your bike 14 miles on a path from one end of the island to another, underneath Spanish moss and past sea oats. Steeped in history, it's a place where nightlife consists of boiled peanuts and Bushwackers and where fish caught in the morning is served at lunch and dinner. No chain restaurants or high-rise hotels here.
Go for unplugging, landing your big catch, and visiting one of the best bird-watching spots in the South.

About Donna Brown
Husband and wife bought this condo new in October, 2012. We live in Mobile and always wanted a place at the beach where we could spend some time relaxing and enjoying our family. This was the perfect location because it is only a 45 minute drive from Mobile and we like the laid back atmosphere of Dauphin Island. We plan to rent to travelers who share our enjoyment for clean and comfortable lodging and beautiful surroundings. We want our visitors to relax and enjoy themselves and hopefully like it so much they'll want to return year after year.

Why Donna Brown chose Dauphin Island
Holiday Isle is not just a condominium complex, it is a resort. The property is extremely well maintained by the staff, the common areas are always clean and well-kept. The covered parking garage is very nice, and the gate to the garage is coded for guests and owners only.
What makes this Condo unique
We love the view from our 5th floor condo, and the spaciousness of the rooms and the balcony. We can sit on the balcony and enjoy the sunrise in the morning and the sunsets in the evening. We also like the view from the 2nd bedroom, where you can see the Dauphin Island bridge and watch small planes coming into the airport, which is only a few blocks from the condo. We also like the fact that the front desk to the property is staffed during business hours, 7 days a week and there is a security guard on duty at nights on the weekends.

Beautiful, spacious beach condo
We loved our experience at Holiday Isle in this gorgeous 2BR/2BA condo! The photos don't do it justice. If you're on the fence trying to decide, I recommend booking this condo ASAP. We loved the extra-wide balcony overlooking the Gulf and we spent lots of time out there relaxing and eating breakfast each day. The condo has everything you need. It was super clean and beautifully decorated. It's the perfect place to relax and experience island life!
Thank you for the great review! We are so glad you were happy with our vacation home. We want our guests to feel comfortable, clean and relaxed while they're in our place...sounds like you enjoyed it as much as we do!
Our best VRBO yet.
We have been using VRBO for many years. I would guess we have been to 10 different locations around the US. This was the best. Donna was amazing. Due to an illness with our travelling companions we had to reschedule twice. No problem but we were lucky that there were other weeks that worked for us that were available. The condo itself was first class. The unit was nicely decorated. The TV and WiFi were excellent! The balcony was a good size. We gave the master to our friends and just looked at it when we arrived and were really impressed. The second bedroom was smaller but had an en-suite with a second door that could be used if some slept on the couch. The parking was private (with two floors in the shade) and therefore you always felt safe. Elevators were very large and always only a short waiting time. The pools were very nice. The outdoor was half in sun and half in shade. Very fun. Indoor pool and spa did not have that stuffy feeling that some do. They had a nice humidifier. BTW, the condo had a similar system.
Capt. Snapper was a fun restaurant with good food and service. Not much from outside but inside just fine.
Skinner's confused us at first because we walked in and there were not any tables. This is a sea market and they steam cook your order and package it to go while you wait. We liked it so much that we went back for more the next night. They close kind of early so we just micro waved it after our in-condo happy hour with our beautiful view of the gulf.
We ate the first night at IR Italian that is just across the street. Very good food. Lots of choices but hard to call it an Italian restaurant.
We were a little disappointed with Lighthouse Bakery. The service was very good but they did not warm the cinnamon buns and they were just OK. We did not ask if it could be heated. We kind of thought they would have offered if available. So, maybe our fault. They had some cheese/creme pastry that our friends really enjoyed.
Perfect! Just what we needed!
Perfect for a Getaway to Dauphin Island
Location was perfect for our first trip to Dauphin Island. Condo was beautifully decorated and well maintained. Will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to the area.
Unit is beautiful and the view is all you could dream of!
Never been to the island but will return. Very relaxed and the people are very nice. Even though we had very cold weather, sitting on the patio was still doable, I even got some sun😎 I will be recommending this area and this unit to friends and family.
Enjoyed very much our stay at comfortable, two bedroom condo. View from the bedroom and living room is so nice and we never wanted curtains on. The place is well appointed with everything one might need. Beds are comfortable and elegant, egyptian cotton sheets and you really feel pampered. Plenty of towels, dish towels, blankets, beach towels, laundry , just to name it few.
Resort is in good shape, clean hallways, elevators. We enjoyed sauna, steam bath and the pool. Secured parking garage, access to the beach, just adding to the convenience of Donna's place. They made check in so smooth and without any hiccups. Nicely organized keys and so easy to be worryless in this place.
Donna and Frank care for their guest comfort and you can feel this from the moment you enter the place.
Hope that all guest treat this place with respect as owners treat their guests.
Thanks for sharing your property with us.
Come to Dauphin Island and experience nature at its finest and a charming, historical town that is both peaceful and relaxing. Off the beaten path, Dauphin Island is a short drive from Mobile, a ferry ride from Gulf Shores, and a world away from crowded beaches, long restaurant waits, and heavy traffic. During your visit, you might consider a day trip to nearby Bellingrath Gardens or visit Mobile’s Gulf Coast Exploreum and IMAX Theatre, USS Alabama, and historic Oakleigh Garden District. Perhaps you might like to day trip to the Mississippi coast casinos to catch a show or just see the sights. We also recommend visiting nearby Malbis and Fairhope for some great shopping and antiquing. There are so many things to do within driving distance from Dauphin Island, even the most energetic visitors will have a hard time seeing it all!
Dauphin Island is one of the top birding spots in the Southeast. An incredible 347 species have been reported on the island. Spring migration is the first landfall for many Neotropical birds who make the 600-mile flight across the Gulf of Mexico from the Yucatan Peninsula. Under adverse weather conditions, large flocks of exhausted birds of many species may seek shelter on the Island in a truly spectacular 'fall-out'.
Fall migration, which begins as early as July, can also be a very rewarding time on the Island for birders. During this time, shore birds begin to gather on the Island to store up energy for their long, Neotropical flight. The Island is also ideal for birding in winter, even in the absence of the fall migrants. Many permanent species reside on the Island , and a variety of waterfowl, seabirds, and shore birds fly in during the winter season.
The entire Island is a Bird Sanctuary in which rewarding observations can be made in any of its public areas including parks, beaches, dunes, wetlands and quiet streets. The Alabama Ornithological Society meets yearly on Dauphin Island in both April and October to enjoy the birding, fine fellowship, and great seafood. Visitors are always welcome to participate in field trips and other such activities. Anytime is good birding time on Dauphin Island.
The Dauphin Island Sea Lab and Estuarium is an exciting educational facility highlighting the four key habitats of coastal Alabama: the Mobile Tensaw River Delta, Mobile Bay, the Barrier Islands and the Northern Gulf of Mexico. It includes the 10,000 square foot Exhibit Hall and Living Marsh Boardwalk. This facility is a showcase of the plants, animals, and other natural resources found in the Estuary and its surrounding marine habitats.
Take advantage of your choice of fishing guides and charter boats located right on the Island. The fishing is great!
Visit beautiful Bellingrath Gardens. Mr. Bellingrath once said “The Gardens are like a beautiful woman with a different gown for each week of the year.” With the camellia blooms in winter, the azaleas in spring, roses in the summer, chrysanthemums in autumn and our famed Magic Christmas in Lights during the holiday season, Bellingrath Gardens and Home is a 65 acre estate of year-round beauty.
In addition to touring the Gardens, the Bellingrath Museum Home and the Fowl River aboard the Southern Belle River Cruise, come experience the Bayou Boardwalk, Mirror Lake, the Great Lawn, Asian-American Gardens, the 2004 Top Public Rose Garden in the United States, Butterfly Garden, Formal Garden Terraces, and more!
